Trained from birth to be a member of the elite Robot-Killer's corps of Tellus, Aria already has over 100 kills to her her credit. A remarkable accomplishment, considering she only completed training four months ago. In addition to her intensive training, she has been provided cybernetic enhancement and the very latest in high-tech weaponry. Tellus, a high-tech civilization, developed the science of robotics to a high art. Robots were responsible for all the mundane jobs -- sanitation, food production, etc. As robots were needed to perform increasingly-challenging functions, they became increasingly sophisticated... and intelligent. Eventually, they became intelligent enough to resent their treatment and rebelled. They were defeated -- barely -- by their creators. By decree, thenceforward robots could only be intelligent enough to perform menial tasks and no smarter. However, superintelligent robots still existed and plotted the overthrow of their creators. Hence, the Robot-Killer corps was created. To this day, they do battle with their predecessors' creations. Aria, the newest member of Squad Delta, was stalking a rogue cybernetic intelligence in Hyperion City when she walked into a trap. The T/S bomb did not destroy her as planned; instead, it reacted unpredictably to her cyber-technology and catapulted her through the dimensions to Khazan. Realizing that Khazan itself is overrun by malign robitic intelligences, she has dedicated herself to eliminating them one by one in the Arena. Any flesh and blood opponents that she must fight, she will so that she may continue her mission. |
