His name is Simon Crook. For a Great while he has ignored the fact that his best friend is compleatly, irredeemably evil. That's to be expected though, for, Simon is an expert at ignoring things. After all, until recently the safety of everthing within a 30 foot radius depended upon his ability to ignore distraction. In any event, the tactic hadn't given him any problems for a good long time. He and Pete had wandered the multiverse togeather, meeting interesting creaturs and seeing the sites. They'd been accepted by prestigious organizations and had had deep conversations with beings previously beyond their imagining over tosted marshmellows. Fundamental alignment questions simply couldn't come between friends such as they. At least, that's the Way it seemed until a couple of weeks ago. It started when Simon forgot to arrange transportation to their next destination. Perhaps it was a lapse in his training in reverse concntration. In any event, stranded in an alien desert, Pete lost his temper and tried to hijack a truck. Simon tried to stop him, but Pete refused to be talked down. He accused Simon of being vacant, and stupid, and coddleing towards weaklings. Simon made some disparaiging comments about Pete's moral compass. Eventually, the situation degenerated into a full fledged battle. The hijacking was forgotten as two who had been friends tore into each other. Conflict that had bubbled beneath the surface for years came to the fore. The physical and astral planes were ravaged as Simon physically attacked his invulnerable foe, and Pete mentally assaulted a psionic untouchable. Somehow, one of Pete's psibolts managed to hit Simon. In a battle honed instinctive reaction to pain, Simon's body went into phase, shifting itself half astep in infinite directions. It didn't save him. In fact it made the situation worse. injured by the Psibolt, Simon was unable to physically reform into himself properly. In Place of the whole, Two halves returned to their propper demensional orientatin. Neither was truly Simon Crook. Neither had his full abilities. One collapsed imediately, passig out under the physical strain of just standing up. When he awoke, his other was gone, and so was Pete.Staggering to his feet the 1/2 Simon attempted to asses his siutuation. He seemed to be able to move, but he was extreamly physically weak. His mind seemed to have a different feel, alien somehow, but it was mostly intact. Soon Simon realised why his mind didn't feel right. His concentration was normal. He could no longer expand his mind to fuse with the local fabric of reality. In addition, his best freind had stabbed him in the back, physically attacked him, nearly killed him, and had probably run off with half of his body. On top of all of that, Simon was stranded in an alien desert.....Simon siged in disgust. He really hadn't had a day this bad in a long long time. At least he hadn't hurt himself when he fell. Crossing the deasert on foot would not be possible with this nearly crippled new body. Hitchhikeing then, Simon decided. His Goals seemed simple, and laid out for him. Find his body. Find his friend. Reunite with both if possible. Yes, simple right? but no, there was the guy with the sword, and then the udly strong guy, and after that the giant bucket of popcorn. None of them seemed to know where Pete was, or weren't willing to tell Simon. Heck, for all Simon knew, Pete had just walked out into the street with his body and got hit by a truck, never making it to the kazahn...

Personality: Until recently, Simon had been a mental defective his whole life. Suddenly he has resources like, like a working memory, and the ability to focus on that he'd never had before. His confidence has gone through the roof. There's still a little of the old Simon, the guy who was all heart, and not much else, but weather that part of him will survive this transition remains to be seen.

Energy Conduit

As per usual with Simon's life, the Split in his physical form seems to have caused annother in a string of bizzare and inexplicable occourances. The supernatural phenomena that previously only manefested through Simon's mental defective state have almost sponateously compleatly rearanged themselves with the aformentioned defect's cure. Instead of controling realitywhen Simon's mind goes into negative focus, his power's now control any energy that happen's to come into contact with his physical form.

Standard issue SLJ armor

After requireing a great deal of help getting himself out of the desert and into SLJ headquarters, Simon opted to utilize the standard issue SLJ battle armor. While most SLJ member perfer not to use the cluncky, unfashionable battle armor, relying instead on their superhuman abilities, Simon decided that for him, the armor was absolutely necessary to bost his physical strength to at least normal human levels, and prevent him from passing out from the effort it takes just to walk around.

unto others

Energy that comes into contact with Simon.5's physical form is instantly seized by the supernatural forces that inexplicably inhabit his body. The force is one of control, and without Simon's previously fractured psyche to spread itself out, it is trapped within his body.

as you would have them

The power trapped within Simon's body is so desperate for something to control that it will even seize upon physical force as a source of power. Even so, it is not the power itself that controls the energy it absorbs.

do unto you.

  • Power: Matter Animation
  • Level:Standard
  • Ranged Attack Attack usable at a distance (only).
It is Simon who controls the energies that the strange power within him absorbs. With his mind whole, Simon now has the ability to actually control the energies that flow thorugh his body instead of allowing them to run wild. As more and more force is directed towards him, he gets more and more power to control, and more and more rande in using it. At maximum power Simon can do anything he wants with he energy. From Sweeping energy beams, to giant energy weapons, to energy creatures, composed of whatever energy he has absorbed. It's very effective for making threats when interrogating someone about pete's werabouts.

Mind bounce

  • Power: Reflection
  • Level:Standard
  • Reinforced Defenses Defense blocks Armor Piercing attacks.
Even Simon.5's mind has some energy absorbtion/return properties, although they are weaker an more reflexive. When a psi attacks Simon's mind, some of the intended damage is automaticaly bounced back toward the attacker. It is not, admittedly, a very good defense, as the trauma of bouncing back the attack usually hurts about as much as the attack itself, but it is something.
