Every bureaucracy has one primary objective: funding. Everything else is secondary. Once funding is in place, ideology, police powers, health and welfare all follow. Where the state lacks funding, anarchy and dictatorships arise, crushing the spirit of the people and soiling the drums of patriotism.

I alone in the office of the External Revenue Service lacked the intuitive grasp of numbers and forms. I labored endlessly, writing and rewriting all my computations, just to keep up with the heavy hitters in the office. Somehow, I achieved a mediocrity that my fellow workers could grudgingly approve. Often, though, I worked sixty hour weeks just to keep up. Times were tough, but I walked home past an inner city public school and saw the new chance at life each day that public funding availed the children.

When the ERS swooped in to seize funds and equipment from a mad scientist, my time had come. An emergency meeting conveyed. Our department head, a balding man of short sleeved flannel shirts, brought me into his office, and sat me down.

"We know you work as hard as any eight men in this outfit," he told me. "I wish to God that I had three more of you. We could change the world."

I thanked him, humbly.

"But we both know that you lack something the others have. You have the spirit, but not the mind for this sort of work." I nodded dumbly, staring at the floor and biting my upper lip. "Jamison, I'm going to give you a chance. A chance to change all that. We just obtained a Super Combatant Serum. It's entirely experimental and may even kill you. But we can turn you into a champion, and set you loose against the forces of darkness in this world that withhold too much of the annual salary, or spit upon the morals and standings of good bona fide land holdings."

He injected me with the Super Combatant Serum, and changed me into the hero I am today.

Personality: I earn my salary. I keep track of all business expenses and file on time, every time. Its more than avoiding hypocrisy, but being an example for the people. Kids look up to me. If I do my job right, then maybe Just Maybethere will be a few more tax return filings and a few less audits. I hope so. For the children.

Kick Boxing

The next day, I was running laps at the gym like a nerd chased by bullies. My heart was pumping fast, but it felt good. Muscles did not appear over night. I fought for them, but my energy seemed limitless. Twelve hour days doing everything from sit-ups to kick boxing to pilates. The kick boxing was great, though. I had a way and a method to work out the physical stress of the tax trade. Every blow to the bag was another stroke for the funding of our fair founding fathers.

After a few weeks of this, they tried teaching me jo-jitsu and kum-boya, but neither took. Every time I got out there, it was punching and kicking just like I had already learned. When they finally set me loose on the streets, I could brawl with the best.

Taxtician

My job? I don't stop the mugging, the beatings, the arson, the murders. They got guys for that. Mean guys. Instead, I hit the streets, catching wind of a heist and I am on the hunt. These mastermind villains think they can get away with stealing...and not give the government its share? I don't take much, just the percentage based on projected earnings for the quarter. Sometimes it gets bloody, messy.

Sometimes it's the other way around. Some high and mighty vigilante stalks the undercity, bringing down crime lords and big boss types. But do they remember they can't claim their robotic companion as a dependant? No. Sometimes they need a reminder. After a couple rounds punching and jabbing, they get the picture.

Super Combatant Serum

  • Power: Martial Supremacy
  • Level:Superior
  • Kit Power Link: Master Training
  • Multi Attack Attack can hit multiple times during one strike.
The Super Combatant Serum gives me a bit of an edge. I can feel it coursing through my veins, and have more physical self-awareness as a result. I flinch out of the way of a punch I didn't see coming. I jump in the air, and then redirect my movement with a back-flip, while punching and kicking multiple tax evaders. I possess the grace of a cat and the agility of a badger.

Things I thought impossible become all too real. Once they know what I am there for, they download the forms, or find copies at the local post office.

Shielding Your Assets

  • Power: Projectile Attack
  • Level:Standard
  • Seeker This attack hunts and follows its target.
  • Multi Attack Attack can hit multiple times during one strike.
There is a right way and a wrong way to hold on to your earnings. The government provides many valid exceptions specifically designed to protect, for example, single mothers or small business owners. My shield is a physical manifestation of the government's protecting hand. It is there to show that we are not out to hurt, but only to help.

And I can hurl my shield with stunning accuracy.

Precise Calculations

  • Power: Thrown Objects
  • Level:Superior
  • Kit Power Link: Master Training
I can rebound my shield of assets off of walls and other hard objects. It can hit from the front, or I can bounce it around from behind. In the taxation world, we call it a collateral attack.

Too many people view us as the bad guys. We fund schools, roads, walkway systems, parks, and libraries. But we are devious, too.

Commander

It snot like I tell him what to do--he knows in his heart what is right, and he listens to that. I just give him suggestions.

Buckly, The Teen Intern

  • Power: Commander
  • Level:Superior
  • Weakness: Power in Item -Hard to Loseitem
  • Weakness: Not usable in terrain Bar Fight
At my side in every financial trouble stands Buckly, our teen intern. He helps with the math, something that I hate to admit, I'm just not that good at. He goes everywhere with me, provided that he does not get carded at the door.

Some people would think it dangerous to bring a child into the warzone, but he needs the credits. Besides, his parents filled out a waiver of liability, so there is no question that we are doing the right thing for the right reason. One day, should I die, I hope he is the one to fill my shoes and bring the march of the government's cut onward.
