Hugo Fowl

Alexander Vimes was a member of Scotland yard in the early 1900's. According to the records, he was an early advocate of what would eventually become Forensic science though in those days, it was looked upon with some degree of suspicion as to its worthiness. Nevertheless, he was a good officer and fine man who died in the line of duty. It happens to the best of us. Still, let it never be said that a Vimes ever rested on his laurels when there was work to do. Alive or otherwise.

On the other Side, there are lost souls barred from rest simply because of how they died. Its Vime's job to discover these circumstances to help them in their final rest. Otherwise, the spirits wander on Earth, a lonely voice in a great crowd. Forever pleading and shouting for it all to end. Some of them go insane. Others become....violent.

Whether its a case of mysterious death or a rogue spirit, A. Vimes is your man. Er, ghost.

So who ya gonna call?

Alexander Vimes was a man who believed in the best of people. A few years in the service of Scotland yard failed to stamp that vestige of inherent belief in him, though he outwardly displayed all the signs of cynicism. He was also patient, and was forever gathering the most strangest bits of evidence as he built a case up before he struck. He had few close relationships save perhaps Constable Clark his partner and Jenny the Courtesan whose exact relationship with him outside of business(she was his street informant) is unknown.

He was single, the work being what it was. He thought it downright unmanly to marry a woman who might someday become a widow. This was one of his little quirks that he carried from his native time. A complete Victorian attitude to society. For him, there was Right and then there was Wrong and sod off if you think you could change that in him. This often made him the butt of several jokes by his modern-day colleges, though always with him out of earshot. But living or dead, you'll never find another sentient more dedicated to his job. When asked when he too will eventually rest, he is quoted to have said, "I've been dead for a century. Why the bloody hell would I rest now?" But really, it has been insinuated that there is some deal he made in exchange for his service. What that deal is, only one ghost knows. And if you ask, he'll merely tell you to pull the other one.

In temperament, he's gruff but extremely astute. Its a feeling that served him in life, and has worked wonders for his permanent record in death. He's courteous when he needs to be, and dangerous when he likes. Its like a Bad cops brain in a Good cops body.

Just pray you don't find him on your tail.

Sherlock Scan.

     Detective: superior (rank 2)

In life he was knowledgeable. In death, he became free of mortal restraints and could observe the world in ways and means that we as mortal beings are still blind to. He can look at your hand and deduce what you do for a living. He could look at your spirit aura and tell what your feeling and how strongly you feel about something. The possibilities were staggering to him. Plus, picking up tips from a centuries worth of reformed dead criminals, detectives and other agents of law and chaos has to count for something. In honor of the author who started him on the path to Scotland yard, Vimes calls this ability "The Sherlock Scan." Its the only thing he ever truly relied on. All the other extras he got in death were a bonus.

Phasing

     Phasing: standard (rank 1)

As a ghost, he retains certain abilities. Such as the power to walk through walls or any other physical barrier. However as a ghost, he also retains certain drawbacks. Such as an aversion to salt. Or certain holy artifacts. He can't cross them or get near them, though for his works sake, he has been allowed to enter church's.

Invisibility

     Invisibility: standard (rank 1)

Unless he wants you to, or if you have the Sight you can see him. Otherwise, to an observer you'll just be conversing with empty air.

Mind Trick.

     Mind Control: standard (rank 1)

  • Area Affect

Having the abilities pertaining to psychokinesis can be useful. For instances, to create distractions he can influence a small crowd or control a swarm of animals depending on the situation. But as regards to singular control, he has yet to master.

Telekinesis

     Telekinesis: standard (rank 1)

  • Multi-Attack

In a fight or when affecting the living world, Vimes relies on Telekinesis. The ability to move objects with his mind. He's become quite good at this and has manipulated small objects like wrist watches in his investigations or used it as a weapon, pummeling people and objects like a pugilist.
