A reporter, the soul of every celebrity, someone who insures that anyone who's a "someone" stays a "someone". That's his job. Max Coverage, a reporter for the Khazan Times, devoted fully to the tournament known as the AoC. No, perhaps "devoted" isn't the right word; more like...out to get; yes, out to get the tournament known as the AoC. Never quite satisfied with his job, the not-so-mild-mannered reporter spitefully did his job; but don't be fooled, he was a great reporter, always putting his readers straight into the action, giving them descriptions so good, they might as well be real. Every motion, every specific tid-bit of information in front of you, so good watching the real thing only spoils it for the readers. Max was never one for the whole "pesky reporter" bit, but forced to it after every tournament, he got knocked around quite a bit, always being manhandled by the competitors because of a bad critique of their fighting, or a nasty comment every now and then. Let's face it, Max wasn't even the most pesky of the reporters, the fighters just hated him. The only reason Max even got into the job was because it payed so much, almost three times the pay of a normal-incidents reporter, and on top of that, Max was the best, the top of the line. His column "Damn Them All" was more read than two competing presses combined. A statement from Max's column was gold to his readers, unquestioningly following his every word. He might say "The Black Demon has a greater chance of winning this fight" and the Black Demon himself would win the fight on the purely placebic effect of Max's article. It wasn't strange to see the occasional roughian lose because the day before, he had assaulted Max. Never very calm-tempered, but let's face it, Max wasn't the toughest guy in the world, heck, even the Morisato boy could slap him around; which is why Max had to find different methods of combat, simply fighting wouldn't get him anywhere with the super-powered fighters of the AoC, instead he wrote his way out of a fight. Simply giving them a bad critique isn't good enough, Max simply uses the worst form of attention he can give the fighter...none. It's funny how people forget things, almost instantaneous, "After the flashing lights go out, the yo-yo isn't fun anymore", like Max always says, his column is the flashing lights, keeping the yo-yo fun for the readers, but sometimes, those lights go out. Yes, it's true, Max despises the AoC, hates every bit of it. Which brought Max to a conclusion, a simple one, but a conclusion. If Max's column was so widely read, why not use his article to slowly pull the AoC apart, people would forget the fighters once their "lights" went out. Once the tournament was gone, Traffic Reports would pay the most, and imagine, if he can write that well about fights, what would his traffic reports would be like...

Not-So-Mild-Mannered, what better description is there for Max? He's not happy, he's not sad, he's spiteful. Spite keeps him going, until he reaches the nirvana he knows as the traffic report. Also quite the dominating personality, he always wants, and mostly gets control of any conversation he's in, a strong personality, however is no compliment to someone most see as a 'jerk'. No, he's not actually that bad of a person to be around, sure he'll curse more than a drunken father with an empty bottle; he may make the constant AoC cracks; but in the end, Max is a funny guy, funnier than most, actually. His sense of humor also shows quite a bit in his column, dirty humor, perhaps. But it's always funny.

"Whatever happened to that guy? What was his name again...was it...Demon...yeah, that was it. Well, whatever happened to him?" "I think he dropped out of the tournament." "Are you sure?" "Yeah, I think so, 'Damn Them All' hasn't featured him for quite a while." "Well, he was pretty good, he even had a big nuke that he blew people up with." "No way, that guy couldn't do anything with that nuke, he didn't even have a decent aim. Hey flip on the TV, let's see what's on." TV: 'And all reports confirm that Demon is still missing, no traces of him can be found anywhere at all. It's almost as if he disappeared after he tried to use his 'nuke' on Max Coverage, reknown writer of "Damn Them All.' "Whoa, he's gone. Seriously?" "Yeah, the hot news lady said." "Whoa, she is hot." "Yeah, I told you." "Hey, what were we talking about again?" "I can't remember...but that news lady IS hot..."

'Good Morning, I'm Donna Summers.' "Hey, come quick, it's the hottie again!" 'We've been informed that the city-wide manhunt for the fighter that disappeared a few months ago has almost come to a halt. The fighter...D- De- well...the fighter has not been seen, or reported to have been seen once. Officials of the city are not willing ot spend much more on the manhunt.' "My God, did you see that, she looked at me and licked her lips!" "Shutup, you pervert, this is interesting!" "Oh, come on! We both know you're just checking her out." "Shutup!" 'The fighter's family cannot be found due to a lack of records on him. His family cannot be found due to a lack of pictures of him, and he is quickly being given up on.' "I'm going to go to the news station." "What?! Are you insane?!" "*asking TV Screen* Donna, will you marry me?"

'I'm Donna Summers,' "*phew*" 'today the city-wide manhunt for...for the fighter has been given up. We've checked every source of information we can find, but after 6 months, the fighter has still not surfaced, simply gone. She-no...He-Well...It was last seen threatening Max Coverage, ultra-popular writer of "Damn Them All" the ultimate AoC news column. No traces and/or remnants of the fighter have been found.' "I wonder if she still *sniff* loves me." "Dude, she's never met you." "*sob*" "Oh, Geez..." 'In other news, the fighter known as 'Mentrollo' has disappeared...'

"Who in the blazing Hell is Mentrollo? *sniff*" "Bah, you be quiet, all that 'Donna drooling' has taken you off your AoC track, Mentrollo is that idiot that made Max Coverage beat himself over the head with his own notepad." "What?! He did that?!" "Yep." "Hmm...that's--*gasp* I forgot about Donna!" 'Good Evening, I'm Donna Summers here with your Round-The-Clock News. Yesterday, the great mentallist Mentrollo disappeared. He was last seen assaulting Max Coverage, ultra-cool writer of 'Damn Them All' the premier source on all things AoC. *Ahem* Anyway, Mentrollo has disappeared without a trace, unlike...that other fighter who disappeared...Mentrollo was purely mental, his mental waves are being used to trace him at the moment in a city-wide manhunt. The authorities tell us that they have searched a 5-mile area around where Mentrollo was last seen, but nothing of him can be found. People who were once under the mentallist's control are now free, it's as if Me-...as if...-Well, it's as if he never existed.' "I still say she loves me." "....Silence."
