An unusual hush blew inside the dark hollow caverns. For a moment, there was silence. The guards shook in the sheer absence of noise. The single light from their burning torches were the only ones they relied on vision. There were five of them. The alarm of an explosion from these deepest parts of the cave pushed them to explore the forbidden area.~*tick*~The solid drop of water from a bulging stalactite limestone echoed through the entire room. Their leader hesitated at first, then with a breath of bravery, moved first step forward once again. The other four followed and they went on deeper. Their steps now surpassed the noise.~Their leader stopped. He felt a chill run down his spine. Feint and partly visible, a rattling noise came from behind. They all turned. It disappeared. Silence. This time, his hand turned a bit shaky. Taking up once again the courage deep within him, he continued to move forward. Then, a near whispered scream left his parted lips when he saw, from his half-burning torch, a stoned door cracked... no, destroyed.~"Wha-what happened?" he let go of a whisper, pertaining to his comrades but most of it was to him. He barely was able to stop himself from jumping out his wits when a hand grabbed his shoulder.~"Sir, is that...?"~He felt another chill run down his spine, this time, much colder. He heaved his breath for a moment, stared at his young subordinates' eyes through the dancing of the flames from his torch, not letting him finish, he told the story.~"Long ago, it was said that a mighty creature once existed, fighting against the early sentinels in an epic battle. No one was said to have been able to stop him. Unfortunately, as he got more and more strong, not even the Syndicate was able to control him. Having that said, he was cast by the same people that had made him and that had fought against him, the first time that the two forces made a pact of sealing this beast - forever guarded by the guardians both good and evil alike. However, the very seal, as you can see, is broken. And inside that very door was the same, empty room where he was imprisoned."~"Shit."~"The only thing we can do now is to inform those at the top. This creature must not reach the surface!"~One from his team took the radio and contacted the others. It was an emergency.~*rattle*~Everyone sprung. It came once again from behind them. Cold sweat dripped from their leader's face, but he had no time to wipe it, letting it fall from his chin. His right hand raising the torch with the left locked on his sword, he shivered. He was barely able to control it. Then, when the drop, held by gravity, from his chins hit the ground, there was silence.

"Roger, roger, this is team 4 speaking, we have an emergency. The prey has escaped, I repeat, the prey has escaped. Do you copy command? The prey has e--" A hand grabbed his mouth and pulled his head and the rest of his body into the darkness. It was fast.~"Tork, did you ca-- Tork? Where's Tork?"~The rest of the team turned to the direction of their other member. He was gone. The radio lay from where he previously was, but Tork was no longer there.~"Shit." their captain cussed. The rest held their breaths in. The prey was still there, waiting for them. All was quiet. No one dared speak a word. They were all warriors, every one of them, trained in the art of fighting since birth. But... but this beast, this opponent, this was different from any other thing they have ever encountered.~A shadow from the right. Their team all faced to that direction. A figure appeared. A dark silhouette formed a man yet, there was nothing they could feel for it to be human. It was too dark however, to see its face, but it did not matter. A single blink was all it took for its hand to reach one of the throats of their friends. His eyes shot immediately out. Not loosing a second, he fell to the ground. They were unable to move as they were proven too slow for him. Another hand pierced through the ribs of the man at the captain's right. Its fingers breaking every blocking bone, within that single second, reaching the heart. He fell this time with blood oozing from his chest. ~The last two remaining no longer had thoughts to fight. Throwing their swords to the ground, they went for the run; dashing through the cave base, they raced for their life. An open hand grabbed another one from behind, his fingers reaching through his spine. He did not make it. The last thing he heard was his bones breaking in half as he fell and darkness of an unmerciful death that followed.~The captain ran. He ran harder than he had ever ran, dodging through bulging stalagmites on his way. He no longer heard the rest of his companions so he presumed they were all dead. He was sure he was next. What chance did he have if he would run? He was about to stop, with all despair of death, when in front, he saw two fingers heading for his eyes. It was swift and death was eminent. The index and middle went straight through eyeball and into the brain.~****~The prey stood at the opening where a long line of stairs was prepared upward. For a moment, he looked up on them and with piercing eyes, followed it as far as his sight availed him. Then, starting with one step forward, he began his walk to the surface.

The Search

     Martial Arts: Standard

10,000 years ago~A man ventured into the biggest and most dangerous forest there ever was. His muscles now tensed in every step as he had been walking, going deeper and deeper into the forest for about two months. Vegetation became denser and denser and a way out was near impossible. Yet, he was more than determined to continue on with his journey. They were previously about a hundred of them; and who was left was only him. Now, his will burned but his body was about to give up on him. ~Then, he saw the light of a clearing up ahead. It was it! What he was looking for! Using the last bit of energy, he dashed his way across the plethora of trees, and into the clearing. He jumped with all excitement outside before his legs betrayed him and he fell face first into the grass. His vision blurred. He saw two feet move towards him; he raised his head and saw a man, an old man, somewhat surprised.~"Teach... me..." he spoke with words barely able to escape his lips. Then, his vision darkened and he lay unconscious on the ground.

The Change

     Martial Supremacy: Ultimate

Seconds, Minuets, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades passed and the man was thought by the ancient warrior that he had so eagerly seek. ~No time was wasted. Knowledge was passed, and so was strength and power. Sweat, blood, energy, and time - all as taken into sacrifice. No longer had he saw the outside world as he was aloof with the ancient warrior. All was thought and none was stored left. He waited, and trained, and strived, and soon became what he desired. After so did a long time passed when they were finally done. ~He was now a different man. Stepping outside the forest, after so many years, he looked nothing like when he entered; not younger, not older, yet not the same.

Useless

     Resistances: Standard

Present~He stopped. In front of him, the barrier of old - an ancient force field made of pure arcane magic - both good and evil alike - lay strong and powerful on the opening at the last of the stairs. Its sorcery was made by those that had imprisoned the creature for ten thousand years yet, it still lay seemingly unbreakable. ~At the side it read: 'Those innocent would pass - those guardians of this prison tomb. But for it that was locked and incarcerated here, this was meant for it and it alone.'~The prey observed it for a moment. He did not flinch.~He moved forward, passing through the blockage with ease and entering the room.~"Useless." he commented.

Futile

     Resistances: Standard

Fifty men all trained in mastery of fighting; senshi - they called themselves, stood waiting for him. Their faces brute and their bodies molded to strength. They were the first line of defense against the creature that they deemed would not pass. They growled and spit, like beasts waiting for the fight of their lives. Yet, for the prey, they were futile.~It had been long but his art and power still stood untouched, unimpaired, undiminished.~In a blink, he disappeared. Seemingly in one spot, he appeared in front of who seemed to be their captain, with no time interval whatsoever, and punched him directly in the face. His fist went straight through his head, breaking his skull, and into the back of his head. The leader wasn't even able to do anything as in a second, he was dead.~The rest were also shocked, shaken and afraid. The prey turned to them and smiled.~For about three minuets, the battle continued. Not one of the fifty most skill warrior out there lived to tell the tail of their carnage, on how they were killed, butchered, slaughtered.~The prey once again stood on the next pair of stairs. There was still time to spare, he thought as he once again started his walk.

Nothing

     Resistances: Standard

Mind readers/controllers, psychics, telepaths, of whatever names they called themselves, lay in meditation on the next room. Together, they formed one of the most powerful empathic wave ever formed. The invisible wave blast went straight through the tunnel, lower and lower, heading towards the prey.~Nothing.~They heard an explosion, but nothing more. They contacted him, they sensed him, and they bombarded him with mental attacks.~Nothing.~Sweat dripped from their faces. Their forehead turned to wrinkles, and their minds dashed through the offense.~Nothing.~A moment later, the prey stood at the edge of the room, towards the stairs that would lead him higher into the surface. Behind him, a massacre laid listless.

Your gods won't save you

     Resistances: Standard

The prey stood atop the staircase and into the other room. In front of him, five priests stood. Books of occult, prayers, beads of necklaces, seals, holy water, and gifts from their gods surrounded them.~"In the name of god, you shall not pass demon!" the man in white robe at the center of the group declared.~Thunder inside the room roared. Their paraphernalia glowed in both white and dark aura. Their eyes beamed and their body started to elevate. Surrounded by the graces of each of their gods, they hovered above and concentrated a beam, both of light and dark powers of their good and evil gods.~They fired. A strong, powerful beam ran towards the air, tearing whatever it passed. The prey just stood there. A loud explosion occurred followed by dust surrounding the area. The priests smiled. Their gods had guided them and they have slain their enemy... or so they thought.~The prey stood unharmed as the dust cleared. The priests' face turned red in shock. They once again prayed. Their gods blessed them with the strength of a thousand men. They flew towards him. They punched and kicked and attacked yet, the prey didn't seem to flinch.~"Your gods won't save you." the prey finally spoke as his hand grabbed one of the priests' legs and broke the bones. He screamed in agony but not too long as another hand pierced through his stomach and killed him. The rest suffered the same faith.~The prey walked towards the stairs leaving the same carnage as he did with the other rooms. He was near, he could feel it. He would soon reach the surface.

It stopped

     Resistances: Standard

The prey stood at the last room of the deep tunnel. In front of him, a huge gate stood sealed by energies, locked by elements, shut by power. Next to it was the temple of Darkness and Light - the first established by the two. It was a one way ticket out.~Then, by surprise, fire flamed out from behind. An inferno of red hot flames sprung across, surrounding him in a hell-like death. Yet, he did not flinch. It stopped.~Water shot from atop; cold as freezing followed by a breeze of seemingly never ending chill of winter with near absolute zero of status. Yet, he did not flinch. It stopped.~Lightning electrocuted. Winds blew in a whirlwind. The earth shook and diverged. The walls radiated. The ground exploded. He was magnetized. Sonics sliced. Gravity strengthened and decreased all at once as a beam of eldrich blast eradicated all around. Yet, he did not flinch.~He raised his hands and destroyed the gate in front of him. He was at the surface!
