Anime and Manga

Eh. To each his own. Me and, obviously, all of Marv's friends who keep telling him to watch it, would say otherwise. Yu Yu was great, though. You should check it out, if you haven't seen it. About a third the episodes of Bleach.

Be warned, Bleach has been canceled in Japan. You really want to get invested in a 300+ series, that doesn't end? I get annoyed when I watch 13-26 episode series, only to find it continues in manga form. They may go back and finish it, once the manga is finished. But from Japan's track record, with continuing series that get canceled... I wouldn't hold your breath.

Eh. I think I'll watch the first 50 episodes and see if it appeals to me or not. I've watched some really bad stuff (Blood+), so I think I'll be prepared.

As for my friends, their anime watching experience is very limited. But we generally agree on the awesomeness of shows.

Bleach ain't bad for the first... 20 episodes or so. Those episodes have a core cast of characters who play off of each other well. Then they move to the Soul Society and it tosses those cool characters (other than Ichigo, the least interesting of the group) aside for a bunch of lame characters with no personalities who wear the same outfit and can only be differentiated by their hair styles and swords. With that switch it turns into everything that sucks about Shounen Jump series.

Meh. The first 60-something episodes were really good, to me. It was after the Soul Society, that the filler arcs started coming into play, and all but killed it for me. They've, at least, made me stop buying the DVDs for the time being.

Also, that's about the point where my love for Ichigo went down. Here's this awesome guy that kicks ass, saves the girl, and singlehandedly takes down some pretty tough opponents, in order to do so. Then... we get emo Ichigo, shortly thereafter...

Xenosaga... It was decent. I'd recommend the games over the series, though. Probably the most disappointing fact, was that Funimation recast everyone. With the game's cast being so stellar, it was hard to get used to new voices. Turned out pretty good, though, I think. Shame they only did the first game. After watching it, I want to dust off my PS2, and play through the trilogy again.

Holy shit. That Skypiea Arc... just.. wow. That was just.. epic. Sadly, it also means I won't be watching anymore One Piece for awhile. I don't really want to start paying $30 for thirteen episode sets. >< So, I'll just wait until they start releasing the cheaper ones again, after making enough money off of the more expensive ones. *Sighs* By the way, the face Eneru makes here, is one of the most hilarious faces I've ever witnessed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NEBD4WDuBo

Also, that lasted long, eh? Cowboy Bebop will be back on the air next week. Along with Sym-Bionic Titan and Thundercats. They at least won't be repeating things, I guess. Do we really need two episodes of GITS and Bebop, though? Those have been on forever.

Recently I've watched Tiger & Bunny and Blue Exorcist, which I loved in their own ways. Currently watching Beelzebub, it is alright, though I don't know if I will finish it.

Also Scotland Loves Anime this weekend at the Glasgow Film Theatre; I'm going for After School Midnighters, Berserk - The Egg of the King, Tiger & Bunny - The Beginning, Blood-C and the Mirai Project. I can't wait to geek out ><

I've recently-ish been recommended Hanasaku Iroha, Ho. 6, Haibane Renmei, and Sword Art Online.

Anyone have any input on these that I might not have already gleaned from rooting around online for some reviews and review aggregates?

Casshern Sins rolls out, Tenshi Muyo: GXP rolls in. If I never see Casshern Sins again, it'll be too soon... I watched the first episode of Tenshi, a little earlier today. Taped it Saturday, since I rarely stay up 'till midnight. I remember Tenshi being funnier... It has been a long time, since I watched the original series, but still..

Er... so... the Buso Renkin manga is even better than the Buso Renkin anime...

Anyone seen Vampire Knight? It's been suggested (read: forced upon me) by a female friend, but from what I've read about it, it just looks like some generic vampire love story. I don't wanna waste time watching anime Twilight. :/
