I can show Namor easily taking a shot from behind.

namorfeat367wt.gif

Yes, his cry of pain is most intimidating.

How did that go for him? Here is another fight with Thor.

namorvsthor57vi.gif

Now, Namor does gain the upper hand under water, but he is just as strong out of water as in for the first several minutes of the fight.

You have once again proved the fish-man has the advantage in the ocean. Congrats.

Oh, and Dinsdale, here Namor is completely replenished by several drops.

namorfeat177fq.gif

Vacuum of space. No water.

.......Are you joking? Of course he hits harder than a nuke. I have used this feat before, but he shattered the crimson bands of cytorrak. You know, the ones that restrained Juggernaut? He knocked out Genis-Vell in 2 punches. While being restrained by Magneto, he brought his fists down on the ground, shaking an entire island and toppling a gigantic magnet. Here's the feat.

namorfeat255ii.gif

If, while restrained, he was able to cause a small earthquake, would he be able to cause a city leveling one while unrestrained? Seems logical that he could, in which case that feat definitely breaks anchor rules.

Here Namor does an 160 ton pushup.

namorfeat894jt.gif

There, Namor plants his hands in the ground and is still stuck in the ground.

Captain America's shield is made from vibranium, and can absorb kinetic energy. Since Captain America grunts in this scan, the shield couldn't handle the energy. To put this in perspective, Captain America has been able to stand up and laugh of a hail of punches and heat vision blasts from Gladiator. The superman level guy.

namorfeat973kv.gif

I'm sure Namor is the only character to ever cause that shield problems.

Oh wait

And if you want to talk about durability, show Morlun shrugging off blast from Iron-Man, who can carve up mountains, or holding Human Torch (with difficulty) as he goes nova. Sorry about the long post, but I like facts and evidence as opposed to rampant speculation.

This may seem a little broken recordish, but I think this scan says a lot for his durability. http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/5/52246/2207297-morlun_36.jpg

Statements like that make it hard to take you seriously. Thor couldn't do any damage with a surprise attack. Namor is basically undamaged, he is surprised momentarily. That feat is leagues superior to Morlun resisting damage from earthly forces.

As I already stated, for part of the fight he will be as strong as if he were in water. He will make Morlun look like a child when he smacks him around.

He could smash ice in the asteroids and absorb it into himself instantly before it evaporated.

Sorry, Namor got approved. And since Flash and Magneto got approved for this category, I suggest you get used to it.

No, he is able to push his torso out of the ground. So maybe a 100 ton pushup.

In the scan you post, Cap is lifted off his feet, but does not appear to be in any pain or under duress. In the scan I posted, Namor causes Cap to exert himself and grunt in pain/from fatigue.

Unless the Wakandans harnessed the power of a super nova, that feat isn't as impressive.

A lot depends on the level of the earthquake, which we don't know. It causes the island to tremble, so it's at least a 4.0 on the Richter scale.

Noticeable shaking of indoor objects and rattling noises. Felt by most people in the affected area. Slightly felt outside. Generally causes none to minimal damage. Moderate to significant damage very unlikely. Some objects may fall off shelves or be knocked over.

It also knocks over the giant magnet so it could be higher, but we don't know how well constructed or stable that was. At a guess, I'd put the upper limit at 7.0.

Causes damage to most buildings, some to partially or completely collapse or receive severe damage. Well-designed structures are likely to receive damage. Felt in enormous areas. Death toll ranges from none to 250,000.

It would take 63 gigajoules of energy to create a 4.0 earthquake. That is equivalent to the explosion of 15 metric tons of TNT.

It would take 2.0 petajoules of energy to create a 7.0 earthquake. That is equivalent to a 480 kiloton explosion.

Namor's action seems to be somewhere in the middle of these things, but the energy provided by the scan is not enough to evaluate where very accurately.

Anybody know how powerful the nuke the Wakanda used on Morlun was? An estimate of the size of the blast crater would help to determine this.

Throwing a tank.

I remember this one from Iron Man. An M-1 Abrams main battle tank is 67.6 tons. I here's no good information on how high the plane was but i can tell you (based on Mythbusters) that something has to have the velocity of a 30.06 bullet to reach 10,000 feet. That's lower than the cruising height of a 747 (about 30-40,000) but it gives us a starting point.

At the high end, the initial velocity of a 30.06 is about 2900 ft/sec. Throwing a tank at that speed requires about 2400 gigajoules, which is the energy of an earthquake somehere between 4.0 and 5.0. It is equivalent to a 571 ton explosion of TNT. That's a lettle better than half a kiloton and quite a bit smaller than the smallest nuclear explosion on record.

Oh, and everyone is talking about how durable Morlun is, what about Namor? In an Illuminati book he charged through Iron Man's repulsor's, which are in the petawatt range, with no damage. No change in facial expression, no damage to clothing, nothing. Unless Morlun can punch holes in mountains, Namor will shrug off his blows like they are nothing for the first stage of the fight, which will be the only stage. Namor put down Genis Vell in two punches, he can easily do the same to Morlun.

Looks like it's better to chose a character who's had the snot kicked out of him a thousand times than a lesser known one.

No, it's better to choose a guy who can go toe-to-toe with Sentry than a guy who got killed by Spider-Man.

That doesn't apply here since Namor doesn't usually get the snot kicked out of him. Morlun on the other hand usually gets his ass handed to him by Spiderman.

Actually, Morlun usually beats the shit out of Spider-Man extremely badly.

Maybe in the past. The last two times they fought Spiderman kicked his ass.

sigh... Yes, Spidey beat Morlun twice. The first time was when Spiderman injected himself with radiation, which poisoned Morlun when he tried to feed. Before that, Morlun was stomping Spidey.

The second time, Morlun had Spidey beaten near death, and had even gone so far as to eat Spiderman's eye in front of him. Later in that issue, Spiderman "died" and sort of came back as a super angry spider monster.

Normal Spidey gets murdered by Morlun. Just absolutely trashed.

People had a choice between a Spider-Man villain and a guy who makes Iron Man look like a punk (yes, out of water)

And has also been beat by The Thing in water.

One PIS showing, since Namor beats the shit out of Thing on at least a dozen other occasions on land. Namor would beat Morlun without much difficulty.

And Iron Man's thrashed him twice in water (one time while he was braindead in a vastly outdated armor), while Namor, to my recollection, has never beaten Stark. He can't make a punk out of Iron Man any more than Spider-Man can make a punk out of Morlun.

Namor is making Iron Man look stupid and weak for the whole fight. Stark didn't really beat him under water, he got lucky.

Stark was lucky that Strange was there to save his dumb ass. This fight really demonstrates how much stronger Namor is. He charges through the repulsers, and they have literally no effect at all. I love how Iron Man seemed to think that he was in control in the first page.
