Naomi nodded and complied with a "Yessir," plotting them to the Sh'ra fighters.

Tora gripped his slugthrower forlornly. "Indeed, neither did I," he commented in agreement with Satheera.

Matlock

Vincent glanced at his wrist-mounted tac pad neutrally. He couldn't betray any sense of worry. Too many eyes were on him. It was better to keep the MAs focused on their job: securing the ship against boarders... if it came to that. It was good to have the contingent of Marines standing by, as well. Matlock had an inkling suspicion that they'd end up being put to work before this was all over.

Redfield

Jason had entered the Armory but never stopped moving at his brisk pace, glancing down at his tac pad to interpret the information being given to him. As he passed the loudmouth Marine, he muttered warningly. "Stow it, Marine. Go into this cocky and you'll get yourself shot before you get to kill any of 'em."

Redfield kept moving, taking notice of the Marine attempting to don his armor. He began to move towards him, only to instead make eye contact with Lonergan, gesturing towards the distraught Marine subtly. Some things were better handled by an NCO.

Lonergan nodded almost imperceptibly as he finished gearing up. This marine is becoming a problem.

Walking over to the cocky marine, he came in close and whispered into his ear. "Stow that shit marine. We don't need any glory hounds or show boats. Stick by me at all times. I need to keep you on a short leash it seems. That's an order."

Glancing at his people, he sighed and directed them.

"Keep this place prepped, you all know what to do in case of emergency."

Once a war medic, always a war medic...And no one else had the experience he did at the moment, so out he would run to join the marines with his little bag of tricks.

Maharil nodded and wished her comardes luck. She steeled her nerves and headed quickly over to her stations.

Hell-Cat was going to answer her, when the sound of the alarm rang. "I'll tell you later!" She exclaims as she dashes to the ship opening the hatch for her partner. She quickly straps in and starts preping for launch.

*Alice: She watched her team go, quite impressed. She keeps a stable footing as the driver turns the ship to follow the tactical advice. At the statement that they were coming straight for them ade her realize twhoever was directing them knew of the Starfire as a threat.

"Well, at least the other ships are safe..." the commander snarks before turning to her Lt. Commander. The first thing she does is tell him to calm down. The second thing she does is to tell him to get a comm down to the hanger and get everything sorted out, those on the bridge needed to know how long they needed to deploy, and the fighters needed to know the situation and until the obstacle of the enemy support was solved, her marines were not being deployed.

Destiny: Maccrie watched the old iron hag go and she smirked a bit. She knew what she was doing. She turns to the pilot and Martyr to make sure their jobs were followed through. Afterwards,s he yells out.

"Hey! Let's not leave our flyers blind, can anyone tell me how many bogies they have coming?!" the Rhyshellen demands before going to her post.

Larkin: As everyone riled up for a hell of a fight, Larkin was making sure everything was strapped on correctly, for the moment at least in a moment of serenity. He was scared, but he was confident in his abilities and what he could do. He was well trained and he kept telling himself that was enough for the moment. Given that the fight would probably be in the corridors of a ship, he opted for a shotgun as his primary weapon: military CQB design and the biggest gauge he could get his hands on. He grabbed as much backup shells as he could stuff in his pouches. He also packed his trusty Daedalian blade, clean and sharp for dirty work. As Satheera speaks, he nods only partially listening to the higher ups as they chewed out a kid.

"oorah." he grunts once he's done suiting up before baring teeth at Satheera. "I got your front if you have my back." he says, hefting the shotgun, ready for some corridor sweeping.

Bridge: The scanner tech in response to Destiny spoke. "I count Six heavy fighters inbound. All armed with anti ship missiles." Jansen now had a line down to the hangar, "Launch now! Hostiles incoming!" The Sh'ra frigates were now in range though tey could only bring their forward guns to bear on the Starfire they nevertheless began firing wildly most of the shots went wide but a few scored glancing blows on the ship causing the vessel to tremble slightly.

Armoury: Satheera glanced at the huge Pantheurian, "This is only my second battle." The Selurian remarked as she checked her weapons once again the familiar routine helping ease her nerves.

As the gunny whispered in the marines ear he nodded, "Sir, yes sir." He replied. "I'll keep you covered." Meanwhile the nervous marine was still clumsily getting his gear togeather. The armourers were busily distributing blasters and slug throwers to the marines each varying on their specialties. Grenades, and melle weapons were also being distributed.

A human female to the left of Anders had a squad support blaster the heavy gun looked too big for her but she handled it with ease. "Hoorah." She said. She was also right behind Larkin, "We heavy weapons people got to stick togeather." She said to him.

At that tie Pastor would walk into the armoury, his medical kit clearly designating him. Then the ship quivered from a few glancing impacts nothing the shields couldn't handle though. But to any who had never experienced a battle before they might not recognize it as such.

FighterBay: The Lt.Commanders voice would crackle in each of the fighters comms, "Launch Now! Hostiles incomming!" None of the pilots needed to be told twice they all launched and found Six Sh'ra fighters heading straight towards the ship. "Engage before they can fire on the Starfire!" Someone ordered. Deardra went to work, he locked on to the nearest hip and fired a pair of missiles. The Sh'ra fighter banked away and deployed counter measures. No kill but he did get it away from the ship.

Engineering: (Maharil) Maharil would find the place abuzz with a ton of engineers scrambling to stations, "You, get to the auxiliary controls make sure we don't lose shields!" A man designated as chief engineer ordered her.

Redfield

Jason approached the nervous Marine slowly. He muttered firmly but not harshly under his breath, "Calm down, Marine. It's alright to be scared, but don't let the adrenaline rush rule your actions. Follow your squad leader and remember your training; you'll be fine. Some of the finest men and women in the Alliance are on this vessel."

Matlock

Vincent began headcount of the assembled MAs, attempting to keep them organized and ready for action.

"It is my first as a marine; I've been through quite a few in law enforcement and other... scuffles." He refrained from mentioning specifically what the scuffles outside of official business entailed. Tora took his slugthrower and blades. "All in a day's work, I suppose," he commented to Satheera. "Just follow the C.O. and shoot who you need to; you should be fine."

Naomi awaited a command to enforce via plotting the ship's course.

Waving nervously at the group, Pastor would check his side arm, though his focus would be to patch up rather then dish out wounds. Upon seeing those he knew, he smiled slightly and waved. No small talk though, his nerves were beginning to come back....Been a while since he had been in a live firefight.

Anders received the sleek and precise weaponry. It was all about stealth and surprise. He hopes to amalgamate the techniques he knows. To him, it was not all about sheer brute force. It was about skill if anything else. Practically, the silver-eyed and stone heart warrior was ready to strike with precision and speed, coupled with stealth. However, he remembers not to blow his cover as an ex-member of the Spears assassin guild. Compromise will not be tolerated and he would be in the brig as soon as he is discovered.

He also darted his eyes to scan the environment. The female marine's loudness may have gotten his attention, but he attempted to be stealthy with it. He darted one eye towards the direction of the female marine and Larkin. Due to their large weapons, they would be crucial in suppressing fire and distractions. Mr. Steel-Fist can flank and kill stealthily as needed. He would also dart his other eye towards the other marines. Anders the Assassin needed to know if there would be any trouble from reckless marines. He had hopes that ex-Spear members would too be part of the marines, but Anders had to dismiss that fantasy. He was on his own.

*Alice: Alice verbally wished the Corsair squadron luck as they shot out to meet the threat. The impact of the enemy ship knocks her to her senses though.

“Alright, are we in position now?! If so, bear guns where our tactician instructed and start hammering em!†she says, motioning to the closer of the two frigates. She kept tight grip with he rleft hand on the railing as she awaited return fire.

*Destiny: Destiny meanwhile watched everyone else work. Hag was keeping everyone in line and the new kid appeared to be holding it together. Good enough. She mentally thanks whoever called over the number, but she kept an eye on how the frigates were moving. Boy did she hope that those things couldn't manuver so well...then she wondered if she could check that.

“Well try stupid!†she growls to herself before seeing if any on-board systems could bring up spec's of what was attacking them.

*Larkin: Larkin finished up checking the shotgun, it was a bad day to get in front of the gun's barrel, that was his confident thought of the day at least. He was about to look for that other Daedalian or someone he recognized when he heard a “hoorah†to mirror his. As the ship started to shake, Larkin frowns a bit, though he trusts they weren't about to die just yet. He turns to address the female before nodding.

“We're going to be the first in and the first to get shot at, might as well hold up that bargain.†he snarks before nodding. “Name's Larkin.†he says as he switches the shotgun to his offhand before holding out a hand to her.

Maharil heard her orders, as she watched the chaos that was the room. She gulped, quickly noding. "Yes, sir!" As she heads off to here duty, darting and weaving through the frantic wave of people. She almost topples when the shipped gets rocked, some of the others didn't have the same luck, or sense of balance. She was scared, but she quickly learned how to use that fear as motivation, gretting her teeth as she gets to the auxliterty controls.

Hell-Cat growls through the comm. "You heard the Lt.Commander! Push these guys back." She attempts to get a lock-on on one of the enemy fighters, but they weren't half bad. Though, they did have quite a few years to practice. Once she does get a lock-on, she'd immiedlty fire missles at the Sh'ra.

Martyr: She watched the battle progress, her mind racing. She was more calm now though, she had given her orders and her job was now complete. It was now more of seeing whether it worked or not than actual thinking, though her mind was working on a better strategy too.

Bridge: The Starfire was indeed in range. The guns returned fired scoring several direct hits on the closest Sh'ra frigate. "Direct hit. Their shields are weakened but holding." the scanner tech called out. The Sh'ra frigate returned fire even though it was taking hits. The ship shook again from impacts these ones a bit more serious. The shields were holding though but they were taking a pounding.

Destiny would see that the frigates were actualy a bit faster and more maneuverable though, they were not as heavily shielded or armored. Martyr too would see this she might also recall that Sh'ra frigates had a weak point below the bridge if the shields had taken enough damage to affect that area.

Naomi and the pilot just had to worry about staying infront of the enemy vessels.

Armory: "Y-yes sir. The marine stammered taking a deep breath to calm himself.

Matlock and Solus would find that all the MA's that weren't guarding areas of the ship were assembled. The armourers were passing out ballistic and blaster rifles to anyone too lightly armed, now would be a good time to get something other than a pistol.

The female marine that was between Larkin and Anders grinned, "Esperansa." She said by way of greeting to Larkin.

Satheera blinked her eyes at the large Pantheurian "Yeah, you're right there." She said. At that time the second barrage hit the ship more serious than the last. Satheera found herself thrown to the deck; luckily being a Selurian she had an excellent sense of balance and was able to right her fall before she did a faceplant other's weren't so lucky. A barrel that had not been secured properly smashed into a marine bowling him over; a MA was tossed to the floor and struck his head against the floor. Esperansa, Anders, and LArkin would also feel themselves being tossed toward the deck.

In Space (Battle): Hellcat: Her missile actualy hit the Sh'ra fighter sending it tumbling away, the shields gone it was an easy kill waiting to happen.

Several of the Starfire's antifighter guns had opened up on Sh'ra that were getting too close. Talon meanwhile had made a strategy for himself he would pick out fighters weakened by the antifighter guns and then shoot them with his own ordnance. "Fry, scalebag!" Talon shouted as he scored a kill.

Deardra meanwhile was chasing down a fighter trying to make a missile run on the ship, the Sh'ra pilot didn't seem to care about the damage his ship was taking and kept heading straight on. Finally Deardra brought his shields down and sheared the wing off of the craft. "First Kill! First kill!" He shouted like a kid at Christmas, though he was aware that it was probably a childish thing to do.

Engineering: At her post Maharil would feel the ship jostle violently, and then worse her screen showed that their was a potential weakness developing in the shields, unless she rerouted power from some non essential area the shields would go down in that spot from too much abuse.

Redfield

Jason nodded to the Marine and took his position overseeing the formation, scanning the troops for anyone who wasn't squared away. He wanted his Marines in top shape if... when... they were called upon. The expressions ranged from exhilaration (in the case of the overeager rookies), fear (in the case of the more timid first-timers), and, finally, the mark of grim acceptance upon the faces of the veteran NCOs.

Matlock

Satisfied that the MAs were ready as they were going to get, Vincent made his way to the armorer. "I need a long gun. Whatever you've got handy," he said calmly.

Solus stood firm with his large center of gravity as the ship was bombarded. He looked to his men. "Hold strong. If they get on the ship its up to us. Don't forget that." He said calmly in his deep voice.

Naomi charted courses according to what she could see on the monitor and radar to keep them in front of the frigate.

Tora kept his balance like Solus, his catlike stance allowing him to remain upright. He then growled, "They must be accurate. Or we're sluggish?" He thought on it a moment before dismissing it as trivial.

Anders used his skill in parkour and freerunning to regain his balance. He was not a clumsy human at all. He was well coordinated and skilled. Though he did find a fellow marine, Larkin, fall as well, he also realized that many marines did not practice the style of acrobatics Anders used. To maintain cover, the chrome-eyed warrior helped up Larkin if he needed help. Strangely, Anders stayed silent. The chaos may not be enough to maintain cover. He took everything happening to note.

Martyr sighed, she wouldn't bet on her team winning this one. Nonetheless she said what she knew. "Those frigates have a weakpoint under the bridge, assuming we can get past those shields..." She muttered as she thought. How to get past the shields...? Was that her job to think of some complex plan or could they handle that themselves?

*Alice/Destiny: Destiny grits her teeth, they had to keep these things in one spot otherwise things would go bad real quick for the Starfire's maiden battle. It's around that time that Martyr would speak out a rather important piece of information.

"Oh I could kiss you." she says, just loud enough for Martyr to hear, though she quickly adds that'll be for later. She then looks up to the commander. "Mam, they have a maneuverability advantage for sure, but right now they want in for a slugfest with lasers. If we can damage one of their shields, we might be able to get the remaining one on the defensive regardless of how good their shields are." she adds, but points out it's a risk to leave it unattended for very long. Alice takes both statements into account before nodding.

"Alright, keep some fire on the outer ship and make sure we stay on the move pilot, but let's see if we can't get another direct hit on the closer frigate. Aim well, our tactician gave us a good target." Alice says cooly as she keeps a grip in case more turbulence occurred. "Let's show these guys what the alliance can do!"

*Larkin: OOC: How dare you assume things hwfm :P

Larkin gives a nod as Esperanza shares her name. He swears he had heard the name somewhere before during his studies...where exactly, that's where everything jumbled in together. The Daedalian was about to ask if there anything significant to it when the ship gave a violent shake capable of knocking over most of the marines in the room. Larkin didn't have enough balance to keep on his feet, but he had the reflexes to make sure he didn't face plant. The key word was reflex, he initiated a roll as he lost his balance to hit the floor without hurting himself, but that meant the 200+ lb dog wasn't going to be stopping on a dime in the crowded room.

Solus lowered a hand and sidestepped the barreling Larkin. He caught him by collar and helped him to his feet. "Not bad pup." He said with raised ears.
