Yes, I did steal the idea from Redemtion X, but I've improved it. This time, you get to choose who has which ring and why (mainly based on their personalities). Only 2 rules:

1. No god-level beings (Though I will accept basic superpowers e.g. limited superstrength or speed).

2. No characters from the DC Universe.

Here are the rings:

Green ring (Willpower)

Red ring (Rage)

Yellow ring (Fear)

Blue ring (Hope)

Violet ring (Love)

Indigo ring (Compassion)

Orange ring (Avarice)

The entire realm of fiction is in your hands! This'll be one helluva fight!

Ready? Go!

Green-Dr.Doom.Why? He already likes green and he has probably the most will power in Marvel

Red-Hulk. Why? For obvious reasons

Yellow-Daredevil. Why? He has NO fear what so ever.

Blue-Cyclops. Why? Because he beyond a shadow of a doubt knows the mutants will live on.

Violet-Venus. Why? She is the goddess of love.

Indigo-Rogue. Why? She cares for the students and would die protecting the children at the academy

Orange-The Blob. Why? For obvious reasons.

Avatar Universe for now.

Green-Azula, for being able to be so competent and in control despite all those mental problems hiding underneath the surface.

Red-Zuko, his rage for most of the series is what defined him.

Yellow-Toph, no matter what enemies came her way, she was never afraid, always eager to meet the next challenge.

Blue-Sokka, it was his hope that his father was there that made him decide to infiltrate the Fire nation's most secure prison and free him.

Violet-Katara, she was the Team Mom of the group, the one that held them all together when things got rough.

Indigo-Aang, he didn't even want to kill Ozai, a lunatic who was planning to commit genocide, because he believed all life is sacred.

Orange-Ozai, the lunatic wasn't happy just being Fire Nation royalty, the guy wasn't happy being just the Fire Lord, he wasn't happy just being the Phoenix King, he wanted the whole world painted in his image.

I'll try the Naruto Universe:

Green ring (Willpower) - Naruto: He never gives up, evening when the odds are stacked against him. His willpower and nine tails fox chakra is basically what makes him so strong and is the basis of his ninja way.

Red ring (Rage) - Sasuke: The guy is always angry and holding a grudge, from the start of the anime to the end he always has to hate something, it's what he lives for and he admits that himself.

Yellow ring (Fear) - Itachi: The man that can use Genjutsu like no other, now imagine the combination of the Sharingan and the yellow ring. Almost unstoppable.

Blue ring (Hope) - Minato: Mainly because he pretty much entrusted his newly born baby with a power that could not only destroy him, but the world as well. He hopes that Naruto could one day create peace in the world and use his power for good.

Violet ring (Love) - Hinata: Her love for Naruto is what keeps her going, she even sacrificed herself in the Pain battle, the only one that couldn't stay back in the village. If you are willing to die for love then surely you deserve to wield the ring.

Indigo ring (Compassion): Choji: He never wants to hurt anyone, not even in the war arc when he was being attacked.

Orange ring (Avarice): Tobi/Obito (-_-): The man wants everything, all the Sharingan, the Rennigan, all ten of the tailed beats, world domination etc etc.

You guys do realize the weilder of the yellow ring not only has to have no fear, but has to inspire it in others right?

Yeah, but Itachi didn't have fear, he murdered his own race, accepted death and trained Sasuke for the ultimate purpose of being overpowered by him.

Also, the Sharingan is pretty much the power to instill ones fear through Genjustu and torture them. So again, not a problem.

There is that and the fact that other shinobi just straight up feared him.

Completely agreed with most of these.

I think the only ones I would change, would be:

Green: Rock Lee.

and Indigo: Haku.

Edit: Another contender from Naruto for the Red Ring, could be JÅ«go(or more precisely, his alter-ego).

DBZ verse

Green: Goku

This guy has more will than any other person he fights and fights and fights until he is dead or wins

Red: Vegeta

When you piss him off there is no stopping him

Yellow: Cell

I could of said any main villain but Cell was manly based on fear.

Blue: Krillin

In the first part he hoped more and more that Someone ealse would come and fight for him.

Vilolet: Piccolo

Even though he diddn't even see his home planet he loved it so much that he fought for all that died.

Indigo: Gohan

He feels more for human then to aliens but he felt so much compasion for Guru that he got to level up

Orange: Freza

He owns every planet and more. Dude needs to calm the F**K down

Black: Buu

This thing only seeked death.

White: Shenron

You know why I chose him.

Yeah I thought about Rock Lee, but was a little concerned with his range of attacks as he really only knows taijustsu. Whereas Naruto loves his shadow clones and creating new Rasengans, I feel he could do more with the ring. Rock Lee does, however, have an insane amount of willpower.

Totally agree with Haku, that was the one I struggled with. A much better candidate.

Here are a few of my own. I haven't added for all the colors, 'cos I've had trouble thinking of fitting characters for those particular emotions.

Green: Leto Atreides II. 'nuff said.

Red:

Yellow: Tsavong Lah(warmaster of the Yuuzhan Vong)

Blue:

Violet:

Indigo: Qui-Gon Jinn

Orange:

Keep in mind that Yellow Lanterns, are chosen for their ability to "Instill great fear.", and not for their ability to resist or control their fears. Blue Lanterns are chosen for their ability to "instill hope.", i.e. not particularly that they have hope themselves, but their ability to give others hope.

I haven't included the Black or White lanterns because death and life don't count as emotions. I'm also starting to like this idea of using characters from one universe. So here's my team:

Mortal Kombat Universe:

Green ring - Sonya Blade (While Liu Kang may be the more obvious choice, Sonya has shown much more willpower in the series than anyone else. Plus, she got a green ring in her MK vs DC ending.)

Yellow ring - Shao Kahn (Durr!)

Blue ring - Raiden (Even though his quest to prevent armageddon killed nearly every Earthrealm warrior, he still held on to the hope of victory.)

Red ring - Mileena (Due to her mental instability, she always enters fits of berserker rage and will kill anyone in sight, whether friend or foe)

Orange ring - Kano (His greed lead him to betray his own realm and ally himself with the forces of evil)

Violet ring - Johnny Cage (He loves himself so much he tattooed his own name on his chest)

Indigo - Sindel (She sacrificed her own life to protect Earthrealm and prevent the suffering that Shao Kahn did to the people of Edenia)

Hmm... I'd replace Daredevil since he's the exact opposite of a yellow ring user. Dr. Doom's also a strange choice. Just because he likes the colour green doesn't mean he's fit to be a green lantern.

Keep in mind that Yellow Lanterns, are chosen for their ability to "Instill great fear.", and not for their ability to resist or control their fears.

Sinestro flat out said that a Yellow Lantern has to be fearless. When one of the Yellow Lanterns in Blackest Night started being fearful, Sinestro killed it.

Aye, but that comes as part of their training. The final test before they 'graduate', is a test on resisting their fears.

But that doesn't change the fact that what they are chosen for, is their ability to instill fear, not their ability to resist it.
