Chewbacca vs JP Raptors

No way Chewy pulls this one off. I mean, he's a big guy with a great reach, but he's only got a few inches on guys like Bargnani and Magliore, and the Raptors have been concentrating a lot on defence this off-season under their new coach. If he uses the blade its an easy flagrant foul call by the refs, so its pretty much a non-factor. I think the Raps take it by at least 30 points. Blowout.

Unlike the Raptors Chewie always shoot first.

I raged when I read the first sentence and then lawled the rest of the way through.

Anywaaay, Chewbacca solos Jurassic Park, seriously. Not only is he bigger and stronger than any human that's ever been there, but he's probably more intelligent, experienced (being ~150 years old) and a better engineer/mechanic to boot. What stops him from fighting his way to the main buildings and constructing a pocket nuke out of toothpaste and raptor guts?

Eh depends on the number of raptors anything above 3 near impossible. 3 is a fair challenge, but 1-2 are almost child's play for wookie's they're ace hunters on Kashyyyk after all.

It all depends if Chewy can keep his back to the wall. As long as he's capable of keeping the raptors in front of him he's got a good chance of surviving the encounter.

On the other hand the moment his back is to a raptor he's pretty much dead.

Keep in mind that real-life raptors, whether we're talking about Deinonychus or the actual Velociraptor, were pack hunters for a reason. There were trade-offs that came with that speed and agility; namely a weak bone structure. They weren't like modern predators that wrestle with a larger herbivore while going for the throat bite. They had to deliberately gang up on an animal and slowly bleed it out over time because any straight-up slug-fest would end up with them getting knocked around like rag dolls.

Sure, you can argue that these are Jurassic Park raptors, not real-life ones. Even then, if we're talking about the book, then the lawyer actually had one pounce on him from behind and he tossed that mofo off as it was a menial task and went on to survive the entirety of the book. Even in the movie, I seem to remember them kicking a raptor through a wall or some such.

So what does that mean in the context of this battle? Well, now you have a guy that's stronger, faster, and very experienced compared to any human the raptors have taken on. I dare say that even a single swipe from Chewy's claw could take down a raptor under the right circumstances. Add in the Blade, a very capable weapon, and he now has a distinctive reach advantage. Plus he's a smart, sapient being capable of out-strategizing and outsmarting the raptors the same way the protagonists of the films/books did. He doesn't have to walk into a toe-to-toe battle with them if he doesn't want to. He can set traps all day long and utilize improvised weapons. The guy has plenty of experience with dangerous animals in the Shadowlands of Kashyyk, and some of the wildlife in that place is downright scary.
