The Rise of the Origin Breed

The year is 2248, on August 5 the entire world signed a treaty forming the alliance known as the UEN(United Earth Nations)after a long 100 year war for supremacy. For the last 20 years Humanity has known peace and prosperity, but that all went away within a short time. The National Extraterestrial Satellite Station orbiting the Earth received a message that indicated possible contact with alien life. However, the alien contact was rather.....violent. During the 3 months prior to the initial alien invasion, one alien was identified above all the others. Her name was Renko Falisy and she had already started assimilating the human population into her breed. Her sister breeds wouldn't be too far behind as they were on their way to Earth. The human race was facing destruction against an alien conglomerate that called themselves the Origin Breed and they had no way of fighting back against this scourge as they multiplied to quickly. But all was not lost as a group of people known as The Orion came to aid humanity against the Origin Breed. Armed with technology that could be used to stop the Origin Breed, the human race along with their new found alien allies would try and put a stop to the further invasion of the Earth, the long war known as the Gorgon Calamity Wars had begun.

 

The leaders of the Earth have long since protected Humanity from tyranny since the 100 year wars began. Now their descendants must protect the Earth from these new foes.

She is the leader and current most important person in the Human Resistance. Without her the UEN military forces would have been decimated way before the Orion ever got there. Her tactical skills and prowess are nothing to be snuffed at and her leadership skills leave nothing to be desired.

He is currently the leader in charge of the ground troops that head out into the front lines. His skills with a sword or gun are rather great and are unmatched amongst the human ground forces. His impeccable good luck has earned him the title of "Black Ace."

He single-handedly was able to capture an Origin Breed spy when no one else was able. His skills of great deduction and commanding stature make him a very good guy to have on hand whenever a bad situation arises and you find yourself on the short end of the stick of war.

Kirie comes from a group of people whose planet was consumed by the Origin Breed, she has decided to aid the Humans in their objective to defeat the evil Origin Breed and try to prevent what happened to her own planet from happening to Earth. She is one of the Black Ops in the Orion origination.

The Admiral of the Orion Organization, a group of different alien races that banded together to try and protect those plagued by the Origin Breed. He has the charisma of a legendary warrior. Though his personality is rather strange, he is a very good character and has a tendency to fall for Earth women.

 

 

The Origin Breed is home to many different alien species incorporated into the five different broods. The leaders of these broods are some of the nastiest people in the galaxy.

Renko happens to be the Leader of the Holverin Breed. She has master over spacial control and uses it to her advantage to transport her brood through the vastness of space. She used this ability to travel to Earth. Her DNA code is coded as Temporal Virus.

Tethra is considered highly dangerous as she can't be completely destroyed unless every last strand of her hair is ousted. But killing something that can think on the level of millions of people is difficult due to the fact that each strand of her hair has a separate consciousness. Her DNA code is coded as Flourishing Virus.

Catheran has the ability of 5 senses heightened to super levels. Her wings are also capable of vibrating at a speed of light frequency. This allows her to travel through time but once she travels through time she must wait another 50 years before she can do so again. Her wings are capable of cutting through any solid material because of how fast they vibrate. Her DNA code is coded as Rivet Virus.

Nyu is able to turn invisible at will and her eyes are capable of inducing hypnosis to either confuse or drive her enemies insane. The affects of her eyes hypnosis aren't permanent and wear off in a couple of hours. Her DNA code is coded as Vision Virus.

Xeres is a giant around the height of 40 feet tall. Her Brood is rather small due to all of them being rather big. She is able to detect metal objects and can sense people's emotions. This makes her extremely dangerous as negotiations with her are almost impossible. Her DNA code is coded as Rising Virus.

 

Humans - They exhibit some of the most exquisite tastes for Origin Breed Virus' but also pose as the Origin Breed's most prominent resistance force. They are the first race to ever effectively thwart an entire invasion army of Origin Breed for more then 3 months. They are agile and swift. Will you choose these Cunning people as your race?

Origin Breed - The most ruthless scourge of the galaxy and currently the strongest empire conglomerate in existence outside of known space. They are intelligent and resourceful and can very easily overpower a human if alone, but if outnumbered can be killed with enough effort. Although they are considered evil, they manage to pull together a very affective family like structure. They protect their own and will not stand for losing. John Shadow was born February 22, 2222. Father served as marine during first contact with Origin Breed, mother served as Hawking Pilot. The Corporal was placed under custody of an abusive uncle, now arrested for domestic and narcotics abuse. The young Shadow was going to be sent to a foster care system Earthside, but early military aptitude tests showed the young boy had extensive combat prowess. The boy was recriuted into Top Secret Special Operations Force Theta-219 where Shadow began developing his innate ability for marksmanship, combat, and strategizing. Training for years in the Commando Operations, Shadow was found to be surprisingly stable, an ideal role model for his fellow soldiers. Unfortunately, the mission profile to assasinate The Holverin Brood Queen Renko Falisy ended up in disaster for the task force, as Shadow was the only one who made it back alive, albeit with EXTENSIVE mental and physical scarring. Instantly reassessed and reshipped to the front lines as a Corporal, Shadow continues to be a top asset for the United Earth Nations, having served highly successful combat tours since the very inception of the war. For further information, Level 9 clearance is required.

 

Personality: They say because I can blow an alien's brain out of its skull from 500 meters means I don't enjoy the finer things in life. I think that's wrong, you gotta look for the finer things, and being in a life or death situation your entire life just make you so much more appreciative. I'm a soldier, first and foremost. My squad comes before all, my brothers are my unit, my life, my weapon. I didn't join the Alliance for the adventure, or because I particularly enjoy violence, seeing my freinds heads disappear in a flash of laser light. I joined to make it count, to Avenge the dead, and to preserve the living. Its hard to hold onto your ideals when the world around you is crumbling, its ahrd to think of why you joined this shitstorm when the guy you were having oatmeal breakfast with dosen't make it back to his bunker. Some people don't have anything to live for, and thats why they crack under the pressure. I've been fighting all my life, 54 consecutive combat tours, what do you think I have to hold on to? Maybe I'm different, maybe- instead of holding onto something I have, I'm holding on to something I lost.

Top Human technology, the set consists of a sniper rifle, assault rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Name:Krystal Cherznov

Bio: Born in the land of what was formerly California, Krystal's small farming town was relatively untouched by the war for her childhood. The people their grew lax in their scouting for the local UEN base, and as such had no access to help when a small origin breed scouting party figured that there wasn't much harm in attacking one lone village in the middle of nowhere. They underestimated the humans however, and only one managed to flee the village with its life intact. Fearing the inevitable reprisal from whatever larger group the scouts had been a part of, the locals tried to call for help from the UEN, but the news they received was not welcome: The group the small part had been scouting for was a huge one, and was on its way to a major city that had just recently managed to fight off another siege, and they were not going to be able evacuate the non-combat personnel and the sick and wounded out in time before the horde was upon them. That is, not without some sort of distraction. However much it pained the higher ups to make the decision, one small town simply was not the same worth as a city full of sick and young, and the breed would most likely not take kindly to their scouts getting destroyed. Anything to slow them down just a little bit more, they said, and all those people could be saved. After much thought, the brave villagers agreed with the plan, asking only that a small party of their young and elderly be allowed to retreat to the city. But the young Krystal was horrified. everything she had ever known was this small village, everyone she knew or cared about. She knew all their names, how they lived their lives... she refused to let that all just disappear in a puff of violent smoke. So she ran away from the party retreating to the city, and walked into a very bemused origin breed camp, asking to see whoever was in charged. Humoring her, they led her to the the nearest source of authority, who listened to her out of amusement, then out of mild surprised. Impressed with both her loyalty to her family and bravery in approaching the camp unarmed, and also wanting to make sure she was telling the truth, the Vorckenen brooder force fed the girl a strand of her hair, turning her to their side. The army ignored the village and attacked the city, catching them by surprise. They then turned right around and attacked Krystal's village. She was right there on the front lines with them.

 

Personality: Krystal is usually among the voices advocating for avoiding conflict if possible, but not out of any vestiges of loyalty to her former race, but rather due to hating to see any of her new family hurt if possible. She firmly believes that for all intents and purposes the Origin breed have won the war, and is continuously baffled the humans and their allies continue to resist. Normally a little softspoken and having a kind tone to her voice, along with her rather nonthreatening appearance, has led more than one human to believe that she is compassionate to their plight and may even be redeemable. Those people are quickly proven very, very wrong, and woe to anyone she deems as being unreasonable, which unfortunately for humans is most of them

 

Abilities:

 

Default: Krystal's hair is sentient, and can be used both as a weapon and for defensive purposes. It is normally knee length, but can grow in length, up to well past 20 feet

 

Siren's tone: Krystal's voice can have a supernaturally soothing effect on people, with all but the most deeply ingrained violent thoughts washed away into a calming, relaxed, and completely exposed state of mind

Siren's sting: Krystal's hair can become needle like, sharp enough to penetrate skin and bone to drain blood, reinvigorating her

 

Tempest's touch: Krystal can use her own energy to extremely accelerate the healing of others, mending broken bones and cuts in seconds

Name: Piph Lorica

Bio: As the caretaker of a certain mansion on a certain planet now occupied by the Xerthan Brood, Piph was a lone maid charged with the protection/catering of a master Teron Vervix. Though, upon his death at the hand of Catheran Gabriel she would be free from the vile man's grasp. Catheran offered her a sanctuary in her brood where she could have power to defend herself and take revenge on the world that cursed her to live a life of slavery to a family that didn't appreciate her talents. Piph accepted the offer and would listen to Catheran's melody and become an angel of death to all that plagued her over the past 10 years. She would soon find herself as the maid at Catheran's side wherever Catheran went, so did Piph.

 

Personality: Piph is a silent girl, though when she is addressed, she speaks. When she does speak not much is ever said. In the wake of her unsocial attitude, Catheran sometimes coaxes her into trying activities that her fellow brothers and sisters partake in. She rather enjoys fun and would much rather find fun in being a maid rather then being social.

 

Abilities: Her default ability is the same as Catheran's vibrating wings. However only Catheran can travel through time none of the other females can.

Ravishing Night - Her wings produce metal dagger like objects that grow at a rate 10 times faster then finger nails do. This allows her to create new projectile weapons quite quickly once all used up.

Symphony of Euphoria - Her voice can be used as a weapon as she can create a loud hyper sonic attack loud enough to shatter bullet proof glass. Very effective at close range.

Crimson Viper - Her bite is worse then her bark, as if she bites you you're pretty much guaranteed to be poisoned. Her poison is very fast spreading. If you continue to fight while it runs through your veins, you may find yourself in a morgue.

 

Starfighter: Talon's Fury - PiphsTalonsFury.jpg

This ship comes equipped with 2 plasma laser batteries and a light Origin shield. It is a modified version of a fighter back on Piph's home world and is capable of doing slip space all on it's own. It seats a single person and has a feature that lets it bombard other frigates with a small version of a rail gun developed by Piph's original race. The Talon's Fury is currently docked in the hanger bay of the Kill-Zone, Lilica's Flagship.

Bio

Born in Vancouver, British Colombia, he graduated with honours from his highschool, and was recruited into the Officer Program at RMC in Kingston Ontario. There, he excelled at his studies, until the last year of the program where his grades dropped significantly. Student phycologists were never able to sit down with him, but from reports it seemed that Zang lost interest due to "[the courses] being to easy". For years after, Zang would sit on the back bench content with his own studies, and slowly accumulating rank in the army through time and his seemingly effortless ability to succeed.

 

Personality

Quiet, Reserved, soft spoken but with a commanding presence. He is fairly enigmatic, which tends to be offputting to other officers, and if it weren't for his extreme competence, he would either be shoved into a inconsequential job or booted out of the military.

Major Love is an extremely aggressive, brutish, and bloodthirsty warrior who fights for the sole purpose of finding an opponent worthy of challenge. He believes himself to be the "Strongest Soldier Alive", and believes that the only true justice in the world is not found in any planning room, but when one fights for one's life on the battlefield, where the strong survive and the weak are crushed.

 

More of a man of action than talk, he disregards strategy and politics as a waste of his time. Despite his repeated betrayals, he is a rather honest man, having little faith or respect in politicians, bureaucrats, and those who use deceptive words to gain power and hide like cowards behind the law for their own protection. For this same reason, he despises sycophants and suck ups

S.A.B.B. Acetylene Gas Blades

Combines highly compressed oxygen and acetylene gas with assisted combustion. Basically a blade made solely of fire, much like the flame on a welder only it extends much further, similar to a lightsaber. The blade can exceed temperatures of 4,000 degrees.

Bio: The scarred Arab young man was one of the last survivors of a bombarded village. Yusef joined the UEN for his own entertainment and for his revenge. How did he get in would be a tricky start. He did not seem to be the man that could handle the enemy aliens. Yusef discovered an ability for explosives after the bombardment of his village. That was the main reason of appealing to the UEN of competence and ability, as they didn't perform a background check. Yusef was also lucky that he left out alive, in that the country and his home was conquered. Blood on the sand is what he wants and he plans to spill alien blood. Vengeance must be his, as he saw it. He took his family heirloom, a saif, with him along the journey.

 

Personality: This sociopath would try anything to get the job done. He has no inner censor and would sadistically take joy in killing the enemy. Yusef occasionally restrains himself when humans are around, but that does not stop him in contemplating whether to blow the human up for the last piece of scarce food. Yusef cooperates only when needed, being mostly a loner.

Biography: Well blimey, if you wish to know about me, I'd have to go way back. 65,002,011.5 years back to be exact. Yes, I'm that old, and should be a fossil by now, yada yada. I'm one of the dinosaurs that "died" in the supposed extinction of the entire dinosaur species. Well, not the entire species, birds and all that jazz. Anyways, what really transpired was the Origin Breed decided to visit Earth and take a look-see. They took a liking to my kind, and the rest of them, and decided to consume the majority of them. The lucky ones that survived, well, they weren't really lucky because they died agonizing death after the Origin Breed left. Now me, specifically? They decided to convert me into one of them for shits and giggles. Not that I'm complaining, I mean, its definitely a better fate than ending up as the droppings of another carnivore (How ironic, right?) or suffering a lengthy period of starvation and thirst before death finally takes you. Ever since that fateful event, I've served the Origin Breed wholeheartedly, and over time, I came to be intelligent and able to speak. This might have been the results of the conversion, ah, gotta love the benefits the Origin Breed gives its members. Lovin' the immortality too. I have undergone literally thousands of endeavors with the Origin Breed across the the universe as a space faring dino and despite what seems to be a long time, the millions of years, I've had a hell of a ride nonstop.

 

Personality: Well, now we're invading Earth, which by the way if I may note is a sight for sore eyes, and are attempting to assert our dominance over the human race. I liked the way Earth was before these miscreants defiled it and I'm, somewhat, enthusiastic in that we're about to annihilate them. Oh, look at me, sounding all evil and whatnot. Oh goodness me. No, really, normally, I'm jovial and respectful to all those I address. Even my food. Age: 19 years old, but has lived for over 80,000 years.

Breed: Vorckenon Brood

 

Bio: Her race was known for its ability to master puppets through the use of their minds. Though they hated sunlight and feared it, they would soon fear the Vorckenon Brood more. The day that Tethra Illumious would invade their planet would prove to be a very fateful day. Lilica tried to defend her race against the invaders but was taken prisoner and subjected to experiments. These experiments would eventually emotionally scare Lilica to the point that she would cry whenever she sees people being tortured even if she is the one doing the torturing. After the Brood was done with her they would infect her with the Flourishing Virus and take her for one of their Honor Guards. She was assigned to the force in charge of doing Tethra's bidding for her. She would sometimes be deployed on worlds with little back up in order to scout for possible strains of life to incorporate. She was very efficient at what she did as her puppets could do surveillance for her and keep her out of harms way should things turn nasty. Her last known location was Earth. All reports of her definite presence on Earth have been confirmed to be 100% accurate.

 

Personality: She is a very unstable girl, always talking to herself in public, with the exception of doing serious work. When she does her job however, her focus could not be better and she kills with such lethality that it would make any human assassin envy her skills and prowess.

 

Abilities: Her default ability is that her hair is a living organism and she can use it as offensive weaponry or defensive purposes.

Nightmare Doll - Her dolls that she can control are able to act upon her will and are highly dangerous. They are extremely dangerous at night due to the fact that they are more easily hidden in the dark because of their dark appearance.

Stare of Isolation - Her stare can keep someone distracted long enough for someone to get a good hit in on their opponent. This is possible because she is so intimidating that her aura gives off a very frightening stature.

Blood Siphon - Lilica is capable of siphoning the blood from her victims body in order to increase the amount of luster in her hair. This not only strengthens it but also makes it more beautiful.

It possesses, 8 plasma Canons, 2 thermal missile bays, 1 hangar bay holding 5 fighter class ships(Piph's personal star fighter is on board this ship) and strong Origin shields. It can jam other ship's transmissions if in range of them and can enter atmosphere for bombardments if Lilica wishes it to. It's crew strength is roughly 120 crew members and the size of the ship 1200 feet long by 530 feet wide by 310 feet high. This ship has many different breeds on it as Lilica uses it as her own private combat vessel. Many Origin are on board and many of them are loyal to her cause of serving the Breed with deadly efficiency. Though her own squadron are made up of 20 or so Deredex marines.

Bio: conscripted into his race's military like all of his people's male population, Noj had the unfortunate position of being in an army against the Origin breed's hordes. Exactly where he did not want to be. Noj did everything he possibly could to get himself discharged from the military, from faking sickness to simply disobeying orders. But, it seemed that every time he faked being sick, his doctor would be caught in the crossfire before he could send him home. Everytime he disobeyed orders, it somehow ended up being more beneficial to the army. And so he was praised for his initiative, given a promotion, and put in command of a large force of soldiers. Completely flabbergasted, Noj then did his best to keep his platoon away from the heavy action areas. Except that that the action seemed to follow him like a magnet, and somehow he always miraculously managed to pull a win out from under his opponents feet while taking minimal casualties. By the time his race was eventually conquered, Noj had somehow ended up the leading general of his people and was promptly assimilated into the Breed due to how tenaciously they had fought back

 

Personality: Noj is, for all intents and purposes, a coward. He leads his drones where the queens tell him not out of any desire to advance the goals of the origin breed, but because one: he can't disobey, and two: because even if he could the queens scare the shitake out of him. Unfortunately for the enemy, this fear of the queens makes him strive for victory with a zeal even the most hardened humans should be wary of. No amount of casualties is too great, unless the queen say otherwise. No amount of time is too long, unless the queens say otherwise. No foe is deserving of any mercy or any quarter, unless the queens say otherwise. They usually have no comment on the last point

 

Abilities:

 

The importance of bombing patterns: Noj can mentally link himself with any drones in a 60 mile radius around him, gaining any knowledge they possess and allowing him to issue them orders. Females can access the link at will, though only for communication purposes and issuing orders, not for gaining knowledge

 

T.S. Elliot is the color of the day: Noj can interfere with any form of electronic communication within his radius of control (again, 60 miles), causing any attempts to send utter nonsense to the other end

 

Can't Catch Twoneetoo: Noj can fly fast. Really really fast. Fast enough to escape almost any atmospheric flight vehicles known to man and otherwise that might be chasing him at any given time

Jarden "The Red Reaper" Gordvin

Age: 36 (equivalent to around 19 for his species)

 

Affiliation: Orion Procteterate

 

Bio: Jarden was originally from a a planet that, before the arrival or the Origin breed, was constantly warring within itself, much like the human's of earth. Their technologies developed on a slightly different tract however, as all of them were born with a small telekinetic strength. while it wasn't enough to be a great weapon in of itself, the controls for their weapons and vehicles (along with all the other technology in their society) were not tied to the restriction of having to be manipulated with their hands. this combined with their innate aptitude at multi-tasking, allowed for much more complicated and therefore formidable machines of war. Jarden's father was a pilot for one of the Mecha units of their country, and when he died in the initial onslaught of the Origin invasion, the formerly meek Jarden took up the pilot wings, and proved to have inherited his father's skill and then some, earning the nickname "The Red Reaper" as fought valiantly with his people against the Breed. Unfortunately, despite the war being dead even for the start, this only caused almost a full half of the Xerthan breed to come crashing in a few months in. The completely overwhelming numbers, combined with the Xerthan queen gracing the battlefield herself and infecting the people en-mases, proved to be MUCH too great for the people to handle, and they were almost completely destroyed in a matter of weeks. The Orion Proctecerate arrived, but too late, and were only able to save the lucky few who had held on past the fall of the planet (Jarden among them) before escaping themselves.

 

Personality: If one were to sum Jarden up in one word, it would most definately be "Cocky". Most people ask for a few extra words so they can make it "One cocky son of a b!*+#", but you get the point. He shows up late to briefings, skips out on training sessions, has a hobby for playing pranks, and chases the fairer sex around the decks of the Orion fleet incessantly. Many a newcomer to the Orion wonders why the hell the group keeps him around. Those doubts are usually completely dispelled once on the battlefield. Jarden, while he keeps some of his lackadaisic attitude about him, undergoes a transformation, following orders to the letter and putting the life of his squad-mates and civilians before his own. Jarden obvious doesn't really care for any of the breed, but Xerthan have a special place of pure, unadulterated hatred in his heart, since they were the main cause of his planet getting destroyed

 

Abilities/skills:

Telekinesis: Like all of the people of his race (or at least the few who remain), Jarden has a small aptitude for telekinesis, though it is limited. It only extends out around seven feet, only has around 40 pounds of strength, and can't affect organic material. It's useful for a few things, including piloting Red Reaper, and it's actually impossible to use the mecha unaided without this

 

Multitasking extraordinare: Jarden can handle many different tasks at once with his mind without sacrificing his normal amount of focus on any of them

 

Pilot ace: Jarden is a damn good pilot, and can pull maneuvers off with the Red Reaper that most pilots wouldn't even think of.

Personality: the only one not of Jarden's species in his squad, Zened was added to it after to fill up a hole left open when the recon specialist died before the Orion reached the planet. Not a telekinetic like the others, he uses small tendrils that come out of his hands to steer the ship. A quiet and philisophical person, Zened often plays the voice of reason to his more brash squadmates

Reapers 4 and 5, Ozma Hojre and Forte Lin, fighter/infantry combat specialists

 

Personality: Ozma and Forte were both part of Jarden's first squad, and were among the few that welcomed the admittedly arrogant youth into the squad, eventually becoming a close friend. Its a fairly obvious and well known fact the pair are a couple, though most newcomers are baffled by it. Ozma has a reputation for being "the galaxy's laziest pilot", and is thought to spend more time asleep than awake, while Forte is normally described as having "the same amount of hyperactive energy as a star going supernova while chugging a healthy mix of caffeine extract and adrenaline"

Personality: Jarden's older sister, she was already part of the military when he joined, and was his first squad leader. An extremely serious and calculating pilot, her ire is one of the most feared in the Orion Protecerate, and she's the one person in the whole of the military that Jarden is scared of, though he'd never admit it

Bio: "Ere we go." said the man contentedly as he put down the welding torch. That was the last of it, he was done. He sighed as he climbed up a ladder through the garage he had rented. Gazing happily, he looked at the Terra Firma Bona (Good Earth). He allowed his mind to wander back to the memories of his first ship, the Intrepid. He remembered the gleaming hull, the shiny cockpit, and the clean engines. And then he thought about the date, 3-15-2248, when the invaders came. He had volunteered to help fly civilians off of Earth, and escape to a nearby system where they could be relocated. He remembered the horrible, sickening feeling he had felt as his ship broke the cloud line and he had first seen the Origin Breed's invasion fleet. Glancing outside the cockpit, he saw ships of all sizes, mostly human, wrecked and destroyed, their dead carcasses littering Earth's orbit. He'd tried to escape, organizing some of the freighters and other humanitarian ships into a wedge, and trying to break through on sheer speed. But he failed. Slowly, the wedge was whittled down until only three ships survived. A glancing blow struck the engines, and it was good that it was merely glancing, for a direct hit would've most likely destroyed the helpless freighter.

Unbeknownst to him, the previous owner, a coward, had installed the cockpit to detach from the ship as soon as serious damage was done. To Max's horror, the cockpit shot away from the ship at near light speed and avoided fire, being too small and fast to target. As it slowed, Max approached a medium sized ship that had a confirmed Origin Breed signature. Max prepared for the worst as the ship caught his pod, but was surprised when the hatch didn't open, and even more surprised when the ship began moving towards Earth. After a minute of extreme tension, the ship let go of Max's pod, and he drifted into Earth's atmosphere, to be rescued by crews who came out following the first battle.

Max's eyes teared up as he brought himself back into the present. His brother had been aboard that ship, and there was nothing that could be done to save him. Max dabbed the tears as he looked toward the ship, and the one working on it; his son. Together they were a family, and together, they would arise from all the troubles that they faced. Max walked down the stairs as he looked under the name. He picked up a spray-painter, and began to paint. After a minute, he had finished, and the ship's motto shone brightly on the hull.

Ad Astra Per Aspera To the stars through the peril

 

Personality: Max is a difficult person to understand. Most people who've encountered him would call him cold, and distancing. But to the few, very few that have known him for years, he is one of the most open men in the galaxy. He has a few friends who are high up on the command chart, and so he's able to distance himself from the main army with their command. He feels very responsible for every ding and dent that his ship takes, as if he caused it to happen, and has never forgiven himself for his escape of the Intrepid, though it clearly wasn't his fault. Because of the error of the Intrepid, he usually refuses to accept weapons, starships, and ost other things crafted by strangers, and as such, has become a very skilled mechanic.

Max has an extreme distaste of more modern weapons, but also understands their necessity. He chooses to blend the ancient and the modern, never leaning to far into either side. Surprisingly, he seems gentle, and even philosophical in his remarks and speculations with his close friends. He has a passion of the study of history, particularly the ebb and flow of civilizations, such as Rome (hence his Latin) and the United States of America. He sees the grand conflict as merely another wave in humanity, and is confident that humanity will prevail, though it will be tough.
