  1. Besides using manipulation and preying on there fears. Gaston maybe able to pulls this off in a more straight forward, but rarely seen in Scooby Doo, way that is threw good old fashion fear and intimidation. Either by himself as giant jacked power house armed to the teeth. Or by inciting an angry armed mob to run them off. Use the locals in the town where the case is if need be. It shouldn't be hard to paint Mystery Inc. as a bunch of antisocial, druggie, conspiracy nut, occultist. Who are a danger to the local youths.
  2. Minor corrections. The Witch King is the only one subject to the "..not by the hand of man will he fall." Prophecy, not the Nazgul as a group and it's just that a prophecy saying how he will die. Not a protective magic/aura that doesn't allow him to be killed by men.
  3. Are you basing your entire position on the relative intelligence of the towns population on the opinion of one angsty teenager? If not what is your evidence that the town is full of "morons"?
  4. There are accounts of the Amazons into the middle ages. So they should have access to steel as well and it's likely to be of a higher quality.
  5. Going to drop this here to https://www.google.com/search?q=jonah+hex+vs+rattlesnake&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&prmd=ivnx&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwic_pGG_bf0AhUhFjQIHc4DAGUQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=412&bih=780&dpr=1.75#imgrc=ikBqm-iafAV1RM This is Hex waking up to a rattlesnake lunging at him and still drawing and shooting fast enough to hit it before it bites him. He does so only half conscious and he starts while the snake is mid lunge. This is some thing we don't see from Sonja. Don't get me wrong she is fast and has great reflexes, but we don't see this kind of draw speed from her. She is not a quick draw. She can respond to fast moving objects, but we've never seen her pull her bow and shoot in less time then it takes a lunging rattlesnake to cover less then a foot. At a distance this matters. It means Hex can end this before she can even think about closing the distance. https://www.google.com/search?q=jonah+hex+respect+thread+reflexes&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&prmd=isvxn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-_Ye6xrj0AhX9Mn0KHafnC_8Q_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=412&bih=780&dpr=1.75#imgrc=95hdE-HvFSNfRM Or this one where the other guys has his finger on the trigger and his rifle almost aimed, before Hex starts to pull his gun. Still Jonah draws his guns and shoots before the soldier can finish. We can see how the creators chose to show the speed difference too. The other soldier gets the lines that follow his rifle to show movement. Hex on the other hand is fast enough. His gun just appears in his hand.
  6. Except the town wasn't anti-reading. They may not have read with the fervor that Belle did, but the town had a book store. That managed to stay in business and we know Belle wasn't buying book. The shops in town had written signage. The population could clearly count. They exchanged money. They graded Gaston expectorating. Had well developed vocabularies. They played chess recreationally. Etc. These were not uneducated bumpkins. Regardless of what the angsty teen that was Belle said. It was a village of craftsmen and trades people with a bustling town center. Not dirt farms and a mud church.
  7. Yeah her streak is great. She's got 10 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie. Interestingly Hex hasn't done bad for him self in Draft matches either with 6 wins and 1 loss. It kinda makes me wonder which character has the best average, most wins etc over all in the draft matches.
  8. We could also assume it's the Free Jaffa Nation as it says Jaffa Warriors, not Goa'uld or System Lords. Even then though we don't know the size of the fleet.
  9. I don't think we ever get a clear picture of the size of the System Lord fleet. Because they never all muster in one place. Due to the internal fighting and politic-ing going on between the Goa'uld.
  10. She has a loss to Emma Peel in season 4. She tied with Punisher this season, not a loss, but also not a win.
  11. Here are some examples of Jonah going up against groups in melee combat. https://www.google.com/search?q=jonah+hex+respect+thread+fights+tribe&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwj89ufx5rf0AhViJjQIHTjADJUQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=jonah+hex+respect+thread+fights+tribe&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQAzoCCCk6BAgAEBg6BQghEKsCOgQIIRAKUKALWNspYK0taABwAHgBgAG0BogBkxaSAQowLjEyLjEuNi0xmAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=MsGhYfyVM-LM0PEPuICzqAk&bih=780&biw=412&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&prmd=sivxn&hl=en#imgrc=LU945eYnFLWmOM https://m.imgur.com/a/4IgQFyW https://m.imgur.com/a/OEEZ1CJ And for fun, Hex fighting an alligator. https://www.google.com/search?q=jonah+hex+vs+alligator&oq=jonah+hex+vs+alligator&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160l2.7705j0j4&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#imgrc=n-eVkBlobYp_lM
  12. Yes and no, In the first one Batman is not 100%, but Jonah already has Batman down and in position to snap his neck when. Scalphunter steps in. Even weakend Batman is a top notch fighter. So Hex gaining the dominate position in fight against him speaks volumes for Jonah's martial prowess. In the scans where he shoots Batman. Again yes Batman is weakend. But Jonah's standing in front of him and gives warning by saying draw. Before he draws and shoots. So it's not like it's an ambush or sucker punch. So I'm not sure what you mean when you say Hex got the drop on him.

  14. She may be, but Hex has out fought Batman up close And is fast enough to shoot him at a distance.
  15. First things first. Both of these characters have demonstrated great senses and tracking skills. So given the starting proximity to each other means they are going to know where each other are regardless of sight lines. That said they are still likely to exchange fire at a distance. Hex with his guns and like Fox suggested Sonja with her bow, the problem is bullets are faster then arrows. That established Hex can deflect bullets. So arrows shouldn't be an issue to avoid while, I don't think we've seen anything to suggest that Sonja can dodge bullets. Hex is a fast draw expert so when these two a bead on each other Hex is likely to shoot first. So not only is he good to shoot first and his projectile is faster, but he's got more of a chance avoiding arrows then Sonja does bullets. Even if some how he doesn't quickdraw and fill'er full'a lead at 20ft. He is still an accomplished fighter who has defeated whole groups in close combat. With his reflexes and toughness. Taking his sabre and tomahawk against her sword and shield is completely do able.
  16. Mirage may be a monster of sorts with magic. On the surface though that is the kinda thing Mystery Inc. has dealt with numerous times and kept going. Gaston on the other hand. Preys on the fears and insecurities of people. Whip groups in to fear and panic. Is actually kind of his shtick. Especially with a promise to Mystery Inc that he will solve the case himself. It would be easy enough for them to indulge the fear he's already implanted through rhetoric, lies embellishments etc. Basically do what he did with village in regards to the Beast, but in the end tell them to run, not follow him.
  17. We see a bunch of ships firing in that clip, none of them vaporize Gallifrey. We see shots wrecking building, they same shot that humanoids. Can stand few meters from and be fine. Once again for all the talk of super weapons and planetary destruction. When we actually see Dalek ships in action. It's the same level of energy blast "laser" weapons we see in almost all visual sci-fi. And that level of firepower can hurt Dalek ships who can damage Time Lord ships. Really how tough can the Time Lords be if there greatest foe can barely manage stairs and slight inclines?
  18. Mandeville explicitly mentions them in his Travel Log. Noting that they have resisted male rule. As in they have continued to be self governed. https://www.google.com/search?q=Mandeville+amazons&client=ms-android-motorola-rvo3&prmd=imnxv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi46_KNxLD0AhWTGjQIHXfRDMgQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=412&bih=780&dpr=1.75#imgrc=Kid7pPfhNIGT4M Regardless of how you feel about it, this is part of the over all Amazon myth and is even mentioned in the wiki article. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazons Under the header about Late Antiquity, middle ages, and Renaissance literature. For someone accusing me of picking and choosing. You are being far more nitpicky then me. I am trying to look at the entirety of the Myth surrounding the Amazons. You are complaining about myths not being true. Which by default they are not. In other words your whole " no no no this is the real truey, true story, of the Amazons." Thing Kinda silly. You don't think modern soldiers with modern equipment and knowledge, could do a better reenactment of a modern battle, then WW1 soldiers placed in the same scenario? And you'd be wrong about reenactments too. correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like mounted knights, archers, crossbow men etc. this is a much smaller group and they have freaking trebuchet. Couple more notes. The Amazons being shaved men would not in any way effect the out come of the battle. Male or female there military exploits speak for themselves. Also it's worth noting that, that account conflicts with most accounts. Which Amazons being an extant state in the Middle Ages does not. Wrapping up. Spartans didn't use bows or mounted cavalry ( at the time of Thermopylae )which is the back bone of most medieval warfare. Guess who did, that's right Amazons and they did so even before the middle ages. So once again. You've got one group whose kit is closer to that of the middle ages and who may well have existed in the middle ages vs a group that has neither of those advantages. As for skill, tactics, strategy. Bother these groups were renowned for weapons skill, personal combat prowess, and ability to wage war. So yeah the group with more experience, with the kind of warfare in question, in this case the Amazons, are going to come out on top.
  19. End of the war or not the weapons in question. Impact near humanoids, without vaporizing them and we see what those weapons do to Time Lord and Dalek ships and the Architecture on Gallifrey. Do the Time Lords have more powerful weapons? Probably, but can far less powerful weapons, then those in question hurt them/damage there craft? It seems that way.
  20. Spartans may be able to figure out medieval equipment. Though I'd wager things like armor of the era, long bows, etc. Would take a bit. Think of it this way. Yes an army from WW1 could probably sort out how to use modern equipment, but would they use it as well as a modern army? Amazons we're described as unmatched with javelins, bows, and horses. That battled every major power of the ancient world and continued to do so into the Roman era. At one point it is believed they controlled most of Asia. Didn't evolve past them? Are you suggesting that the Amazons existed as a Sovereign power in the 1300s, while using weapons and tactics, from ancient Greece? Cause given the advances in weapons and metallurgy alone. Doing that would make the Amazons bad asses of the highest order. And they'd still be more familiar with medieval equipment, because they existed along side it. While Amazons are known for there prowess in single combat. You don't conduct military actions against every major power of the era. From Egypt, Persia, to India etc with out tactical and strategic acumen. We are talking about a people that not only invaded and occupied Athens, but again at one point are reputed to have held most of Asia.
  21. For all the talk about Time Lord super weapons, when we see them at war they use bog standard sci-fi laser-y weapons. So I see no reason while the Skrull can't fight them on equal footing. Heck on the ground Skrull tend to be superhuman while The Time Lords are scared of revolvers. Not to mention the likes of Super Skrull.
  22. Not really the Goa'uld posed as gods and ruled large portions of the galaxy not the Jaffa. It's unclear here if the Jaffa are under the control of the Goa'uld or not. It only says Jaffa Warriors. Not Goa'uld or System Lords. That said the Free Jaffa Nation, should do just fine in a battle against the Tau. Infact there more cohesion and centralized command structure means they'll be more efficient then the System Lords ever were with all there in fighting.
  23. This is a medieval reenactment not a straight up fight. The Spartans we're dead a thousand years before the medieval period. The Amazons other hand hung on into the medieval period. Sir John Mandeville mentions the in his Travels. Written in the 1300s. So yeah I'd side with the group that has experience with the period in question. Even if this is just a battle where both sides are given medieval equipment. There existence in the era means the Amazons are going to have better understanding of how to use it.
  24. And that still wouldn't count as a win. The challenge is to swindle McDuck. As in to cheat or deceive. Not steal from or rob. Sure Mim has a better chance at robbing Scrooge, but Demona has a better shot at swindling him. And that is what is being asked of them here.
  25. Once again because there seems to be an odd amount of confusion. If the humans hadn't taken the plasma casters setting nothing's in motion. The Predators would have. It's part of the hunt. The Predators killed the whalers at the station above the pyramid. So no the are not going to just ignore Eli. Even if they. Follow some rule against offing armed intruders, that by the way doesn't exist. The Xenos don't have rules, neither does the shifting pyramid ( at least in regards to who it kills ). To those suggesting it easy to survive on the surface. It's the Antarctic with out specialized skills and equipment Eli is going to die of exposure. To those that are some how confused by the Poseidon comparison. This was in response to people saying what if he show up on a day other then the hunt. I was pointing out that doing so would be like treating, surviving the Poseidon like taking a cruise. Bey most of the time the Poseidon is a luxury liner, not a death trap. We up to this point have treated location like they are in one of there dangerous times. Not Isla Nublar, before Jurassic Park or while it was a theme park. Not the Poseidon while it was afloat. So why the Pyramid when it wasn't the hunt? Ironically even if he appears when there is no Predators. It means no access to the surface, little to no air and what there is, is going to be toxic and still no heat of any kind. Of and he may be stuck in a small area as the pyramid is not powered up. So even under those conditions he suffocates while dieing of exposure.
