  1. I missed this. I would have gone with Bane so perhaps that's a good thing avoiding a tie. Glad you're still going with it and looking forward to where the sands of time take the Prince to next.
  2. In the Tekken world, the Mishima Zaibatsu is depicted as possibly the strongest military in the world to the point to where Jin uses them to cause World War 3 in Tekken 6 if memory serves. So I'm going with them.
  3. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 191 Outside the kitchen of the Kanzuki Estate, Ibuki battled an angered Honoka. (REF: HONOKA VS. IBUKI) After feeling the power behind some of Honoka’s throws, Ibuki switched strategies. She utilized her quickness to keep away from the busty bruiser. Honoka attempted to grab the nimble ninja, but Ibuki performed a quick dash and slipped right through Honoka’s fingers. She tagged Honoka with a series of palm strikes and then rolled away before Honoka could counter. Honoka groaned in frustration. “Slow down.” “No way,” Ibuki replied as she landed a drop kick before flipping to the other side of Honoka. “How am I supposed to show off my cool new sumo moves if you won’t stand still and fight,” Honoka whined. (REF: HONOKA VS. HINAKO SHIJOU) “Not my problem. Maybe you should train harder,” Ibuki taunted. “I’ll show you.” Honoka charged toward Ibuki and attacked her with the running jump kick she had learned from watching Jann Lee. Ibuki evaded the move just in time and Honoka crashed into a minibar. Ibuki kept up the pressure with a low kick to the momentarily dazed Honoka, followed by a jumping split kick. Honoka quickly recovered and rebounded with a low kick and a jumping split kick of her own that surprised Ibuki and knocked her back. “Hey what the hell was that? Don’t be stealing my moves, get your own,” Ibuki complained. “I can do any of your moves once I see them in action,” Honoka boasted. “Who does that? What kind of weirdo are you?” Ibuki wondered. Ibuki slid next to Honoka and tried to toss her but was rebuffed by Honoka’s version of E. Honda’s 100 Hand Slap. (REF: HONOKA VS. E. HONDA) Ibuki regrouped. “You really are a copycat, aren’t you? In that case let me throw something at you that you can’t duplicate.” Ibuki rolled through the air and flung two kunai at Honoka. Honoka hopped away as the first one landed at her feet and then used her fist to successfully punch away the second. “I am not afraid of little knives,” Honoka proclaimed. Ibuki charged the third kunai before throwing it at her opponent, and when Honoka went to punch the projectile it exploded in her face. The small explosion left Honoka vulnerable and Ibuki swooped in to hit Honoka with her short range Tenrai energy blast. Ibuki then threw her three remaining kunai at Honoka who struggled to defend herself. Ibuki tossed a bomb at Honoka’s feet that exploded and launched Honoka into the air. Ibuki juggled Honoka in the air with a series of strong strikes and dropped another bomb that Honoka fell into and the resulting explosion restrarted the chain. Ibuki continued this two more times. After the final explosion, Honoka fell to the ground unable to return to her feet. “You should have listened to me before attacking,” stated Ibuki. “Ibuki! What have you done?” Ibuki spun on her heel to see a fuming Karin Kanzuki who had just returned with the DOATEC medics, Ken Masters, and Hitomi who Ken held in his arms. Karin’s face started to turn red as she continued. “What did I tell you about dropping bombs in my home?” “Karin, you see the thing is…” “And why do you insist on attacking our allies?” “To be fair, this time she attacked me first,” Ibuki protested. (REF: IBUKI VS. ATHENA ASAMIYA) The group was then joined by Athena Asamiya who had left her recovery bed. “Hey Honoka, you were taking too long to come back and I have some important news. (REF: GUILE VS. CASSANDRA ALEXANDRA) I spoke to…oh my!” Athena gasped at the sight of the damage caused by Ibuki and Honoka’s battle. “Everyone just hold on a second, I can explain. This isn’t my fault,” Ibuki insisted. “First the cute boy went crazy. I think he was trying to kill me. (REF: IBUKI VS. ELIOT) Then the ditzy girl got mad because I beat him so she fought me too.” “Cute boy? Are you talking about Eliot?” Karin inquired. Ibuki nodded. Ken immediately flashed to his fight against Honoka. (REF: HITOMI VS. KEN MASTERS) “Were his eyes glowing orange?” “Yeah,” Ibuki confirmed. Ken and Karin exchanged a glance. The heir to the Kanzuki fortune sighed. “We will have the DOATEC medics check him out.” “I have some important news,” Athena blurted out. “I recently made contact with the fortune teller, Rose, who was one of the founders of our mission. She has several injured allies and is looking for a safe place for them to recover. I told her she could come here and given her teleportation abilities. She should be here any min…” A large commotion sounded at the front of the estate. Karin and Ibuki raced to the door, followed by Athena and Ken who was still carrying the unconscious Hitomi. “Rose!” Ibuki exclaimed at the sight of a familiar face. Rose stood there with her arms wrapped around an injured Maki Genryusai. “Ibuki, Karin, it is good to see you once more.” She took notice of Ken. “You as well. I am most pleased that you were all able to help out. “It’s good that we are together again,” Athena observed. “Let me help you out,” Ibuki offered. The young ninja relieved Rose of the burden of carrying Maki. Soon after the DOATEC medics came out to the front, and then took both Maki and Hitomi to transport them to nearby beds for recovery. Suddenly Rose's eyes went white as a graphic vision took hold of the Italian fortune teller. The vision was once more about Soul Calibur, but this time Rose saw the majestic sword in action as a man in shining armor wielded it against the nefarious M. Bison. Rose could see the broken bodies of Chizuru Kagura and Kyo Kusanagi sprawled out nearby. (REF: SiEGFRIED VS. M. BISON) “Oh no!” “What did you see?” Karin questioned. “I saw Bison, as well as the sword that can be used to destroy Soul Edge. I saw Kyo and Chizuru as well. They were badly hurt.” Confusion spread across Karin’s face. “Kyo? When we left he was still here.” “Honoka mentioned something about him and Ryu leaving here in a hurry,” Athena informed. (REF: RYU VS. OROCHI) “They must have went there to challenge Bison,” Rose guessed. “Did you see Ryu in the vision as well?” Ken asked. Rose shook her head no. “I did not see him, but I imagine he would still be somewhere nearby. Hopefully, he is ok.” “I want to go there,” Ken declared. “It’s obvious they need my help and you said the sword we need is also there?” “Yes. But I’m not sure where ‘there’ is, I did not recognize the terrain,” Rose admitted. “Can you describe what you saw in your vision?” Athena asked. Rose detailed the look of the trees and huts from her vision. “That sounds like the Yata Village where Chizuru is from. I visited there once after she told me that many of the children were Athena fans,” said Athena. “Then that is where I’m going,” Ken declared. “Wait. There are still many that need to be rescued from the explosion by the G Corporation building, Guy, Ryo, Zafina… We…” Rose fainted into Ken’s arms. “Rose! Are you okay?” he asked. “I am sorry,” Rose said faintly. “The combination of the visions and my recent excess use of teleportation appears to have drained me of my energy.” “Then you need to rest,” Athena suggested. “You aren’t the only one with the ability to teleport. I am rested and ready to go. Karin and I can go to the Millenium Tower to rescue the others.” Karin piped in. “Yes, Athena and I can complete the rescue mission.” Rose composed herself and stood back up. “I thank you.” “I still feel like I need to go to the Yata Village,” Ken replied. Karin placed a hand on Ken’s shoulder. “I agree. We can’t save some friends at the expense of others. Go find Ryu and Kyo. We will deal with things here.” Ibuki eagerly offered her assistance to prove she could be a contributing member of the team. “I will take care of Rose.” With their roles decided, the group split up and Ken, Athena, and Karin departed the estate. Inside, Ibuki eased Rose into a chair. “I will make you some tea,” Ibuki offered. “Much appreciated,” Rose replied. Ibuki called out from the kitchen. “So you said Guy was with you? He is a bit of cutie for an older dude. Too serious for my taste. Anyone else I know?” “Dhalsim was with us. He took on Mai Shiranui who had been possessed by Soul Edge (REF: MAKI GENRYUSAI VS. MAI SHIRNAUI) and attacked our friends, so that I could escape,” Rose informed. (REF: MAI SHIRANUI VS. DHALSIM) She looked around at the destroyed mini bar and broken tables around her. “It would appear there were many battles here as well. I do hope that Dhalsim was able to overcome her but not hurt her too badly.” Unbeknownst to Rose, the malfested Mai Shiranui had emerged victorious in her fight of fire with Dhalsim and had tracked Rose down determined to extract her vengeance upon her for her role in the fate of Andy (DHALSIM VS. VOLDO) and Terry Bogard (REF: BRUCE IRVIN VS. CRIMSON VIPER) as well as Mai herself. (REF: MAI SHIRANUI VS. TIRA) At that moment, the heir to the Shiranui style appeared and tossed a fan at Rose, knocking the fortune teller off her chair. Flames erupted around Mai and her eyes sparked with the orange glow of Soul Edge. “I will burn you alive for what you have done!” Mai threatened. Ibuki raced back into the dining room. “Don’t you hurt her!”” “Stay out of this! Unless you also want to be engulfed by the Shiranui flame!”
  4. With Jin falling in this fight that leaves Kazuya as the lone Tekken representative left after having 45 different Tekken characters participate in the story. Street Fighter also had 45 different characters show up in this arc, of those 45 currently Ryu, Ken, Ibuki, Crimson Viper, and Guile remain. King of Fighters had 44 participants and only Mai Shiranui and Ash Crimson have not lost or tied. Soul Calibur was the next most prominent franchise with 27 characters appearing. At the moment, Siegfried and Sophitia are still fighting. Dead or Alive and its tie in series, Ninja Gaiden, produced 24 fighters for this arc. Ryu Hayabusa, Momiji, and Ayane have survived thus far. The remaining 25 characters came from Virtua Fighter, Samurai Shodown, and Guilty Gear, but all have been eliminated.
  5. To commemorate B. Jenet's heralded return to KOF and for @SSJRuss I present a battle of female pirates.
  6. In honor of the Team Garou DLC release for KOF XV If I could do a do-over of my fighting game arc from years ago I would have done this match instead of Feng Wei vs. Gen Fu. Different fighters but they remind me of one another.
  7. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 190 After she hung up with Zack (REF: SIEGFRIED VS. M. BISON), Helena Douglas was immediately approached on the bridge of the Freedom Survivor by head of DOATEC security, El Blaze. “You need to come see this,” he said. Helena followed El Blaze to the conference room. Tina Armstrong was on the big screen. “Hey honey, do I have a great surprise for you,” Tina announced. “I would like to say that your girl came through in the clutch, but the truth is she found us not the other way around.” “Tina, what are you talking about?” Helena wondered. “I’m just going to patch you through and you’ll see for yourself,” Tina responded. Tina disappeared from the screen and in her place was one of the last people Helena expected to see on her screen. Helena gasped. “Kolin?” “Yes, it is me. I heard from a little blonde one eyed birdie that people were asking about the Secret Society. (REF: ARMOR KING VS. ZANGIEF) I have been directed to provide the information you seek,” Kolin explained. “Yes, the hunt for the legendary Soul Edge was put in motion by Urien. He spread stories of its legend through the ranks of the Mishima Zaibatsu, G Corporation, and MIST simultaneously. Their collective lust for power made the move an obvious one to achieve his goal.” “How could he be sure which one would get the sword?” asked Helena. “He couldn’t be. Whoever ended up with Soul Edge was inconsequential to Urien because obtaining Soul Edge wasn’t his goal,” Kolin answered. “The chaos caused by the quest was the goal. A world in unplanned ruin would make the true leader of the Secret Society look weak in the eyes of its members for being unable to stop or control it. That was the only outcome Urien was focused on. So, his attention was then focused on removing any obstacles that could possibly prevent this outcome. He sent killers after those whom he saw as a potential threat to the plan. (REF: SERGEI DRAGUNOV VS. GUILE) When that didn’t work he switched tactics by targeting loved ones and close friends of potential threats to keep them occupied. (REF: LEI FEI VS. YUN) He targeted Dhalsim (REF: DHALSIM VS. VOLDO) because he knew at some point Ryu could become involved and if he fell under the power of the Satsui No Hado, he wanted to remove Dhalsim as an ally to help Ryu fight the darkness as he had in the past. Urien manipulated devout followers of Soul Edge and local crime bosses (REF: MAI SHIRANUI VS. TIRA) to help him keep the pure form of Bison’s Psycho Power, Rose, distracted. (REF: ANDY BOGARD VS. GUY) When he heard you were pulling together fighters to stop this event from happening (REF: LILI ROCHEFORT VS. KARIN KANZUKI), he blackmailed a luchador chef (REF: MARSHALL LAW VS. JANN LEE) and gathered the followers of Orochi to take you down.” (REF: SARAH BRYANT VS. MATURE) “Reviving Orochi was part of his plan as well?” Helena wondered. (REF: RYU VS. OROCHI) “If that was part of his original plan, he did not divulge that to his brother. However, he did admit that the possibility was exciting to him as it would only add to the utter chaos that would be laid at Gill’s feet. He placed me with Iori Yagami to keep an eye on him (REF: IORI YAGAMI VS. CHARLIE NASH) and most likely wanted me to stop him should he try to destroy the Orochi Hakkeshu again.” “Why are you telling us all of this?” Helena inquired. “As I stated, I was directed by the one true leader of the Secret Society to give out this information to those who need it to better understand the problems created by Urien’s jealousy of his brother. Speaking of which, you need not worry about Urien paying for his hubris. He was already humiliated in battle by another member of the Society. Algol. (REF: URIEN VS. ALGOL) Turns out Algol has a strong connection to Soul Edge and sniffed out Urien’s plot before anyone else. Currently, Urien is in Society custody until a proper punishment can be decided,” Kolin informed. “After all the pain and suffering he caused, that is not good enough,” Helena exclaimed.’ “This decision does not require your approval,” Kolin retorted. “Urien is still Gill’s brother and beyond any of your primitive legal systems. I have given you the truth that you sought and as of this moment, the Secret Society is washing its hands of this mess. Anything beyond this point will not be done because of interference from us. You know the players involved, it is up to you to stop them.” Helena Douglas was unsure of how to respond. Kolin ended the conversation with a backhanded compliment. “Things are getting intense. Good luck out there. After having witnessed Hitomi in her fight with Ken Masters (REF: HITOMI VS. KEN MASTERS), I have a little more faith in you and your team then I would have had before.” —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just below the rooftop of the G Corporation Millenium Tower, Crimson Viper left Jin Kazama to fight the mysterious ninja who blew up their helicopter (REF: RYU HAYABUSA VS. JIN KAZAMA) and ran down a flight of stairs with a small contingent of Tekken Force soldiers. “Our target is the G Corporation Science Division!” Viper declared. As soon as they exited the stairwell, they were immediately ambushed by G Corporation’s security. Then a few members of the Mugen Tenshin clan entered the fray much to Crimson Viper’s dismay. She knocked a Mugen Tenshin ninja back with a fiery cross kick as soon as he landed, then turned and electrocuted a G Corporation security officer with a punch from her electric gloves. The area descended into a cloud of fists, bullets, and shuriken. It quickly became clear to Crimson Viper that if she wanted to reach the labs, it would be best to move independently and thus more discreetly. “Hold them off!” she shouted. Viper charged up one of her gloves and punched the ground, creating a large electrical discharge that knocked away anyone in her immediate vicinity. She then used this opportunity to detach herself from the three-way brawl. Viper kicked through a nearby window and raced down an adjacent hallway. Jin’s spies within G Corporation had given them detailed intel on the location of the labs, but still the Millenium Tower was a bit of a maze. Crimson Viper was convinced that if she could take the Soul Edge shards from Kazuya, find out how he had weaponized them, and cripple his operation in the process, that it would be the final straw in gaining Jin Kazama’s full trust. To this point, the subject of her investigation continued to keep her at arm's length. This despite the fact that she had done so much for him already including locating and returning the android Alisa Bosconovich (REF: VANESSA VS. CRIMSON VIPER), defeating the obnoxious himbo model, Benimaru Nikaido, in an electric duel (REF: BENIMARU NIKAIDO VS. CRIMSON VIPER), taking down one of Kazuya’s top lieutenants, Bruce Irvin (REF: BRUCE IRVIN VS. CRIMSON VIPER), and even fighting alongside Jin against his own kin. (REF: ASUKA KAZAMA VS. CRIMSON VIPER) If Viper completed this last mission there would be no way Jin would keep her on the outside. Crimson Viper’s mind switched gears as she snuck past Kazuya Mishima’s office. She looked inside and saw him exchanging blows with a brunette ninja, most likely from the Mugen Tenshin clan, although she was attired completely different. (REF: KASUMI VS. KAZUYA MISHIMA) The kunoichi was very fast and would disappear and reappear in an explosion of cherry blossoms, avoiding Kazuya’s kicks and attacking him from multiple angles. Viper wondered if she was about to witness the downfall of the powerful CEO of G Corporation. Suddenly, Kazuya grabbed the leg of the kunoichi and yanked her over his head and smashed her into the ground. He then tagged her with a Twin Pistons double uppercut, jumped in the air, grabbed her by the face, and slammed her into the ground with his Heaven’s door technique. He hit the move with such velocity and momentum that his opponent bounced off the ground and Kazuya continued his assault. To her credit, the kunoichi, Kasumi, side stepped Kazuya’s front kick and the two traded strikes. Viper marveled a little at Kazuya’s strength and thinking back on Jin’s fight against Sogetsu (REF: AYANE VS. SHIKI), it was hard to not be impressed by the Mishima Bloodline’s fighting prowess, as twisted as they were. She certainly wanted no part of Jin’s Devil form if she could avoid it, and the same was probably true of Kazuya’s demonic transformation. Still, Viper had a job to complete so she could not waste time watching more of this fight. The yellow sunglasses-wearing undercover agent continued her trek to the science floor of the Millenium Tower. When she arrived she entered into another unexpected and surprising scene. Viper’s eyes immediately spotted the purple haired kunoichi who she recognized from the Mishima Zaibatsu security feed from when she infiltrated the building, stole the shards that Jin had collected, and then put a beatdown on Nina Williams. (REF: AYANE VS. NINA WILLIAMS) It was thought that perhaps the thief was on Kazuya’s payroll after she had also made quick work of the eccentric military leader, Rolento, who had been brought in by Jin. (REF: AYANE VS. ROLENTO) As Crimson Viper witnessed Ayane twirl and spin around the lab, flipping over scientists and blowing away G Corporation security with purple ki blasts, it was clear that that possibility was untrue. Crimson Viper smiled. Capturing the one responsible for Jin Kazama’s initial setback would place her even more in his good graces. Viper would have to move quickly though as only one security officer remained standing between Ayane and the large glass cylinder containing the Soul Edge shards. Ayane knocked the gun from the security guard’s hands, she then kicked him across the face and performed a handstand helicopter kick. She grabbed the arm of the reeling officer and pulled him close so that she could hit him with a backward flip kick and use his face as a launching pad. Ayane twirled in the air as he fell to the ground and she landed facing Crimson Viper. “Quite the flashy moves you got there,” Crimson Viper remarked. “You don’t look like any of the others. Who are you?” Ayane asked. “I’m the one who is going to be taking those shards,” Viper answered. “The hell you are. I am taking them before Kazuya causes any more damage with them,” Ayane declared. “First the Mishima Zaibatsu and now here. Aren’t you being a little greedy with your collection?” Viper teased. “Whatever, Just stay out of my way,” Ayane warned. “Not an option,” Crimson Viper pulled on her gloves and they sparked with electricity. “Because I am also here to collect you as well.” Ayane’s expression remained unimpressed. “Go away. Unless you want to get hurt.” Viper adjusted her glasses. “I am always up for a good tussle.”

  9. Great summary, Broadwaybeyonder. Pleased that Gooey Gus was able to notch his first victory.
  10. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 189 Iori Yagami arrived at the abandoned airplane hangar to meet up with Kyo Kusanagi and possibly Ash Crimson to seal up Orochi once more. (REF: KYO KUSANAGI VS. M. BISON) Since Kyo had left the hangar previously to travel to the Yata village, Iori knew he would be the first one to reach the destination. Iori just hoped Orochi hadn’t already murdered that stoic dope, Ryu, and moved on already. As soon as Iori jumped out of his car he could feel Orochi’s presence. It was the same as the last time he had worked with Kyo and Chizuru to seal up the malevolent entity. Just being this close to the source made the Orochi blood inside Iori react violently. Iori fell to one knee and clutched his stomach all the while howling in pain. For a few minutes, Iori was certain he would fall victim to the Riot of the Blood. Iori had spent years trying to control this family curse, and after slowing his breathing and focusing on his surroundings he was eventually able to overcome the Orochi influence. When the moment passed, Iori returned to his feet and resumed his search for Orochi. In a warehouse not far from where Iori had parked, Orochi engaged in battle with the wandering World Warrior, Ryu. (REF: RYU VS. OROCHI) “Hadoken!” Ryu shot his fireball at the levitating gray haired vessel of Orochi. Orochi teleported away from the blast and appeared behind Ryu. He blasted Ryu away with a telekinetic projectile. Ryu returned to his feet and attacked Orochi with a jumping kick. Orochi produced a white energy shield in front of himself that shattered like glass when Ryu made contact and again knocked the World Warrior backward by using his own momentum against him. “Is this the best you have, human? You will need to do much better,” Orochi taunted. Ryu stood up ready to fight. He charged at Orochi. Orochi nonchalantly flipped another telekinetic projectile in Ryu’s direction, Ryu ducked under it, rolled toward Orochi and hit him with a quick jab and transitioned into a normal Shoryuken. Before Orochi’s body completely fell to the floor, Ryu jumped back into the air and performed his static Hurricane Kick that kept Orochi in one place for maximum damage. “Tatsumaki Senpukyaku!” The consecutive high end attacks put Orochi on the ground, but not for long. Gaia’s weapon returned to his feet and a visual ripple went through his body. He appeared to be healing himself and Ryu did not want to give him that opportunity. Ryu went in for an axe kick that Orochi blocked. Orochi responded with a kick of his own, the Genocide Cutter he had seen from Rugal Bernstein and used personally to great effect. The devastating kick knocked back Ryu and Orochi lifted his arms to cross over his chest. A bright green light appeared above Orochi’s head and exploded into Ryu. Ryu felt like he was being attacked from every inch of his body. He groaned in pain. Orochi levitated over toward Ryu and executed another Genocide Cutter kick. Ryu held strong and was able to successfully block the second part of the kicking technique. Ryu countered with an even stronger version of the Shoryuken and performed a throw over his shoulder on Orochi. Frustration grew inside Orochi over his own inability to easily dispose of this persistent fighter. He popped back up, waved his arm in the air and a pillar of electricity shot through Ryu. Despite the electric fueled pain shooting through his bones, Ryu concentrated, clasped his hands together and fired another fireball at the ancient demon. “Hadoken!” This one caught Orochi off guard and connected. Orochi was done messing around. He crossed his arms over his chest and again a bright green light appeared above him and blasted Ryu. Orochi lowered his arms and held his palms out faced forward. A bright white light followed by a bright red light illuminated the entire building and Ryu felt an intense pain coming at him from every angle possible. Orochi teleported close to Ryu and phased his hand through the fighter’s chest. Orochi wanted to crush Ryu’s very soul. Ryu struggled to remain conscious and he knew he would not get a better opportunity to attack Orochi up close. With Orochi still connected, Ryu launched his opponent in the air with a double fist rotating Shin Shoryuken. He transitioned into his strongest Hurricane Kick while still in the air and landed several kicks as the two floated across the air. Ryu was the first one to land on the ground and he immediately began to charge up his Shinku Hadouken. Orochi landed on his back and was slower to return to his feet. Just as Ryu had anticipated, Orochi’s first instinct was to heal himself as ripples went through his body. Ryu did not give him much of a chance as the fireball forming in his hands gained full power. “Hadoookennn!!!” The size and force of the fireball crushed into Orochi and smashed him through the wall. He fell outside near a startled Iori Yagami. Ryu walked through the new hole in the building, clutching his chest in pain, yet determined to finish off the malevolent entity. Orochi remained flat on the ground and glared up at Ryu with a mix of hatred and arrogance. “You humans have grown stronger since even my last reawakening. Although, all you have done is defeated my current host. Without the Three Sacred Treasures to restore my seal, I will simply find another, stronger one.” Orochi’s eyes picked up on Iori. “Maybe I will use you, and fully complete the bargain struck with the Yasakani clan generations ago.” “I will destroy my own body before I let you take it over,” Iori threatened. Orochi laughed and slowly began a transformation back to Chris. Ryu nervously looked around to see if Orochi would indeed take over Iori or if another form of Orochi would make itself known. He was concerned that he would not be able to survive another fight in his current state. Iori remained unchanged and knelt down next to Chris placing his large hand over the boy’s face. “Burn to ash!” Iori shouted. The holder of the Yasakani Jewel set Chris ablaze with purple flames and held on to make sure the job was done. Iori only let go when there wasn’t much left. “What are you doing?” asked Ryu. “Removing a possible host, obviously,” answered Iori. “He was already defeated,” stated Ryu. “We had thought that once before,” Iori countered. “Aren’t you a possible host?” “I would expect the same treatment from you if I begin to transform. If you hesitate we may all be doomed,” Iori predicted. “Now we must hurry and find that fool Kyo. With some luck we will be able to seal Orochi back up before he finds a stronger conduit.” Ryu and Iori left their current area. After a couple of minutes, a mysterious figure emerged from the shadows with a glowing red eye. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jin landed with a fleet of Mishima Zaibatsu helicopters on the rooftop of the G Corporation Millenium Tower. (REF: AYANE VS. SHIKI) Crimson Viper removed her headset. “I can’t believe it, Jin. You were right. We are really going to be able to walk right in.” Jin smiled. “My eyes on the inside are never wrong. Kazuya and the G Corporation have their hands full with a different invasion (REF: KASUMI VS. KAZUYA MISHIMA), this makes it the perfect opportunity for us.” Tekken Force soldiers descended from the rooftops and smashed through the windows of the Millenium Tower bringing further chaos to the fight between the Mugen Tenshin Clan and the G-Corporation. Jin Kazama and Crimson Viper exited their chopper only moments before the helicopter itself exploded. Crimson Viper jumped away from the fiery wreck. “It’s Kazuya, he was waiting for us,” Crimson Viper assumed. Jin peered through the fire and smoke into the night sky. “No it’s not Kazuya. It’s someone else.” The ultimate ninja, Ryu Hayabusa, descended from above. One of the few Tekken Force soldiers not already in the building charged at him immediately. Ryu grabbed him, flew into the air and planted him back down with an Izuna Drop. Crimson Viper prepared herself to fight the masked menace, but she was waved off by Jin. “Take a unit with you and go to The G Corporation’s science division. Recover whatever Soul Edge shards you can and see if you can find out how they weaponized it,” Jin commanded. (REF: MAKI GENRYUSAI VS. MAI SHIRANUI) “I will handle this.” Viper hesitated for a moment, then she nodded and took the last remaining Tekken Force soldiers with her through the lone entrance door on the rooftop. Ryu Hayabusa quickly threw an incendiary shuriken at the door, but Jin kicked it out of the air causing a small explosion. Jin complimented the Dragon Ninja. “I give you credit, very few are capable of getting the drop on me. You must be with the clan battling my father.” “I have worked with Mugen Tenshin many times, but I am not one of them,” Hayabusa corrected. “They are not why I am here.” “Why are you here? Are you also after Soul Edge?” Jin questioned. “It would make no sense for me to travel here if that was my goal,” Hayabusa answered. “Considering I just left Soul Edge’s location.” (REF: SOPHITIA ALEXANDRA VS. RACHEL) The answer shocked Jin and left him unsure of what to say. Hayabusa continued. “I am not here to fight you if I don’t have to. I am simply here to stop you from your current path, Jin Kazama. You think Soul Edge is the answer to your problems. You are greatly mistaken.” “Is that right?” “The allure of the Evil Seed is unlike anything I have felt before,” explained Hayabusa. “It is even a struggle for me and I don’t have your….compromised genetics. If you try to use it, it will end up using you.” “I can handle it,” Jin insisted. “If Soul Edge can help me destroy my father and the Devil gene itself then it will be worth the risk.” “Perhaps for you, but not for the rest of the world,” Ryu retorted. Jin remained unmoved by Ryu’s words. “If you think you can talk me out of my plans, then you are the one that is greatly mistaken. So save your breath and let’s skip to the part where I kick your ass.” Ryu Hayabusa lifted the Dragon Sword and stepped into his fighting stance. “An unfortunate decision. You will not be walking away from this building.”
  11. This is pretty much where I am, although I did see the 1998 movie and was very confused at an Avengers title with no Captain America or Iron Man lol.
  12. A great courtroom drama. I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that there could be a crooked judge in the pocket of Gotham's massive mafia scene willing to throw Bruce in jail. I could see it go either way.
  13. I've also never played Red Earth, will have to do some research. A showdown between Leo and Lion-O seems destined lol
  14. I could only see Ollie winning if a writer gave him some plot based advantage.
  15. I have never played the Yakuza franchise although I hear only good things. Is there anything in them that would give the impression that Kiryu could handle a kaiju?
  16. Very cool idea for a matchup. In the end I think Miranda has too much for Maria to counter.
  17. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 188 After Ayane had left the hospital courtyard (REF: KASUMI VS. KAZUYA MISHIMA), Zack rushed Kokoro inside to receive medical treatment for the wounds she suffered at the hands of the mysterious assassin. Inside, many of the staff had returned after fleeing the building during the fights that broke out throughout the facility. (REF: SHIKI VS. YANG) Zack checked on the status of Chun-Li and Yang and then called up his boss. “I Hope you have good news, Zack,” Helena Douglas declared by way of greeting. “Things have not been going smoothly over here.” Zack cringed before he replied. “I don’t want to be the one to pile on, but it hasn’t been great here either. Kokoro is in intensive care right now. I think she will be okay but she was cut up real bad by some strange ninja assassin.” (REF: KOKORO VS. SHIKI) Helena gasped. “That’s horrible.” “Yeah,” Zack agreed. “Good news is Ayane showed up and put that assassin in her place. Also, I bumped into Chun-Li of all people at this hospital.” “Chun-Li? It has been so long,” Helena marveled. (REF: BRAD WONG VS. LEI WULONG) “I know. She found the guy responsible for the death of her friend, but then she was beat down by a woman who I’m pretty sure must have been Rachel,” explained Zack. (REF: CHUN-LI VS. RACHEL) “You mean Rachel as in Ryu Hayabusa’s friend, Rachel?” Helena inquired. “Zack answered, “That’s the one. Unless you can think of any other statuesque blondes that enjoy wearing leather and carrying around war hammers. When Chun-Li described her, I figured it had to be Rachel.” “That is so bizarre. I would have assumed Rachel and Chun-Li would be allies right now,” stated Helena. “Was she infected by Soul Edge?” “I had the same assumption, but Chun-Li said her eyes were never orange and she didn’t display any of the other obvious symptoms,” Zack informed. “Speaking of infected women though, Kokoro and I never found the female fighter from the video, the one that was definitely inflicted. (REF: MAI SHIRANUI VS. KATARINA ALVES) I have heard that she is in this hospital as well. What’s happening on the Survivor?” “A couple of Prime Minister Sobieska’s agents broke Shermie and Vice free from confinement then infected King with Soul Edge shards as a way of distraction to make their escape. (REF: GUILE VS. KING) Lidia has disavowed their actions and I believe her. The two agents have gone off the grid,” Helena recapped. “I believe Orochi must have been a motivating factor so I was hoping Hitomi or Eliot would be able to ask Kyo Kusanagi about it since they would be with him and he has experience with the ancient entity . Unfortunately, I have been unable to get a hold of Eliot (REF: IBUKI VS. ELIOT) and one of the DOATEC medics just recently made contact to inform me that Hitomi has also been inflicted.” (REF: HITOMI VS. KEN MASTERS) “Wow! That is a lot,” Zack responded. His eyes traveled over to the television where the news was now covering the cleanup of the mysterious explosion by the Millenium Tower. (REF: MAKI GENRYUSAI VS. MAI SHIRANUI) “Oh! I almost forgot there was some weird orange cloud by the G Corporation HQ. Some of Chun-Li’s friends went to investigate it. Looked pretty ominous, I could do a flyby if you want me to.” “Just provide the Inspector’s friends with whatever help they require. The only way we will get through this is by helping one another,” stated Helena. “Will do,” Zack announced. “Hey, did the DOATEC medical guys say anything about Eliot and Hitomi being able to find Kolin?” “Hitomi and Ken Masters had her in their sights before the overexposure to Soul Edge shards took over Hitomi. She, along with our only connection to Urien, has again disappeared into the wind.” Helena lamented. Zack shook his head. “Man, it feels like at some point our luck has to start changing, right?” —------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After hours of searching, Kolin finally located the entrance of a secret cave. Once inside, she stepped over the bodies of slain Secret Society members and made her way to the center where the homing beacon signal was leading her to. Once there, she saw a somewhat surprising sight, her leader Gill and his brother, Urien, sitting on a section of the cave floor surrounded by vast sections of emptiness. Kolin bowed in deference, “Are you okay my lord?” “Yes,” the leader of the Secret Society replied. “I knew you would find me.” “If I may ask, how did you end up here?” Gill chuckled. “I was defeated in battle by a literal knight in shining armor.” (REF: SIEGFRIED VS. GILL) Kolin’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You? Defeated?” “Yes, it was a little hard to believe for me at first as well, however I now see it as a sign from the world that it is not yet ready for my ascension,” Gill boasted. “I am so pleased to see you, I have so much to tell you about,” Kolin began. Gill lifted his hand in the air to quiet his assistant. “I am sure I know what you are going to tell me about. It has to do with Urien, right? And the many nefarious things he has put in motion?” (REF: SARAH BRYANT VS. MATURE) “Well, yes,” Kolin admitted. “Be at ease and know that I am well aware of his schemes and machinations,” Gill said calmly. “We have talked all about it. In fact, there wasn’t much to do down here other than talk. His misguided desire for my position has titled the world toward chaos, and that is something we must help rectify. I have no intention of leading a world in ruin.” With her suspicions about Urien confirmed, Kolin became eager to assist. “What would you like me to do, my lord? Where do we even start?” “We start by having you detail Urien’s plans to those who can use the information to put a stop to this chaos. Then we shall step aside and let the heroes put an end to this,” stated Gill. Kolin was puzzled. “And that’s it?” “Yes,” Gill decided. “The information you provide should give them the clarity they need to do what needs to be done.” Gill glanced over at Urien with the expression of a disappointed parent. “Whereas we have already intervened enough on this matter and will do so no more.” “Yes my lord, I understand.” “There is still so much work to be done before I can declare myself to the world.” Gill again regarded his disgruntled brother. “Including figuring out the best way to deal with Urien’s treachery in our own way.” Urien rolled his eyes and refused to speak. “I guess my only remaining question I have is what happened to the knight you battled?” Kolin asked. “He earned my utmost respect in our battle, so I asked him what was the one thing he truly desired. He told me that all he wanted was to ensure that Soul Edge would never fully return to this world. So I told him about the man I believe to be the biggest threat to bring about that possibility and how to find him.” Inside the Yata village, Chizuru Kagura watched helplessly from the ground as her friend Kyo Kusaganagi struggled to keep up with the powerful leader of Shadoloo, General M. Bison. (REF: KYO KUSANAGI VS. M. BISON) Bison blocked an overhead attack from Kyo then shielded himself from Kyo’s flames. Bison glided through the flames’ smoke and clocked Kyo with a thunderous scissor kick. Kyo’s head flung back in pain and Bison continued his assault with a purple flamed punch to Kyo’s stomach. Bison grabbed Kyo by the shoulder, twisted his body, and flung Kyo into a nearby statue with excessive force. The statue shattered upon impact and Kyo struggled to his feet amidst the rubble. “Psycho Crusher!” Bison twirled in the air with his most devastating attack and embalmed Kyo in Psycho energy. The pain radiated through Kyo’s body, but the young fighter from Japan would not give up yet. He stood up and shot a fire projectile across the ground at Bison. The projectile exploded on impact and Kyo attempted to follow up with the strongest punch he could muster. He whiffed as his punch found nothing but air when it went through the flames. Bison was already back in the air and he stomped on Kyo’s face and then completed his Head Press technique with a falling double palm strike. Bison smelled blood in the water as Kyo teetered backward. “Psycho Crusher!” Bison again utilized his signature move to engulf Kyo in Psycho energy and drop his motionless body to the ground. Bison stood victorious over his beaten adversary and made a threatening throat slash gesture with his thumb to signal the end of Kusanagi. Bison picked up Kyo by his throat. “The way I see it, as long as I can obtain one of the Three Sacred Treasures to prevent Orochi from being resealed, the other two become useless. This would mean your existence would be unnecessary.” Psycho power emanated from Bison’s hand as held Kyo in the air, choking him. “Please Stop!” Chizuru pleaded. “Bison! If you promise to spare him I will give you the Yata Mirror.” “Chizuru, don’t,” Kyo protested weakly. M. Bison dropped Kyo to the ground and stepped over to the equally hurt Chizuru Kagura. “Now you want to bargain with me, woman? Keep talking.” “No, that will be enough from you evil dictator!” Siegfried proclaimed. The legendary knight approached M. Bison with Soul Calibur in his hands on proud display. “What is this?” Bison sneered. “Is this your doing, woman? Have you summoned a knight to try and stop me?” “I am here of my own accord,” the former Azure Knight proclaimed. “My name is Siegfried and I am here to put an end to your reign of terror.” M. Bison smirked. “Many have tried.” “Many were not me. I have lived many lifetimes and seen the world of darkness that you so foolishly chase. I have not intervened before, but now your actions are feeding directly into Soul Edge, emboldening the Evil Seed, and that is something I cannot permit,” Siegfried declared M. Bison’s eyes lit up at the mention of Soul Edge. “Ah, you are one of them.” Bison laughed loudly at this unforeseen turn of events. “All this time I spent hunting you down (REF: YOSHIMITSU VS. RYU HAYABUSA) and here you are pursuing me.” “You will not find it so amusing once you fall victim to my might,” Siegfried warned. Psycho energy erupted from both of Bison’s palms. “Then show me everything you have, legendary warrior, and you will discover what real power is.”
  18. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 187 Ryu Hayabusa, Yoshimitsu, Sophitia Alexandra, and Seong Mi-Na stood around the reawakened Soul Edge sword not sure of their next move. (REF: MOMIJI VS. ZASALAMEL) “Obviously we can no longer carry it around safely,” Yoshimitsu remarked as he reflected upon the sad fate of his former apprentice. Seong Mi-Na was confused. “We just leave it here?” “At the moment we don’t have much of a choice,” Sophitia answered. Ryu Hayabusa suddenly grabbed his forehead. “What are these whispers in my head?” “It is Soul Edge trying to lure you in,” Sophitia explained. She then regarded his Dragon Sword. “Do you have an affinity for cursed weapons, Ryu Hayabusa?” “Only when they are necessary to wipe out evil,” Ryu responded. He then grabbed his head again. “You all hear this as well?” “Yes,” answered Seong Mi-Na. “Although we have the advantage of building up a resistance to it over many, many….many years.” “Although it has been fully restored it is not too late to weaken the sword while it still does not have a host,” said Yoshimitsu. Sophitia nodded her head. “Agreed.” “So what do we do?” asked Seong Mi-Na. “What we were already doing, cutting off its power supply,” stated Yoshimitsu. “If we can do that before a new Nightmare is chosen and created we should be able to make it docile again.” “We should go after the strongest threat first, to make the biggest impact,” Ryu suggested. “I am inline with your way of thinking,” said Yoshimitsu. “May I suggest that you be the one to take on the threat. You and your allies have proven to be stronger fighters than our coalition (REF: CHIZURU KAGURA VS. KAZUMI MISHIMA), but you are also the most susceptible to Soul Edge in its current form. I believe our best course of action is for us to guard the sword while you destroy the evil that has brought it new life.” Ryu Hayabusa did not immediately respond. “You have already sent your friends to achieve these goals (REF: GUY VS. RYO SAKAZAKI), and it is clear they will need your help,” Yoshimitsu added. Although Ryu had previously defeated Yoshimitsu in battle for the right to guard Soul Edge (REF: YOSHIMITSU VS. RYU HAYABUSA), he could not find any fault with the peculiar swordsman’s logic. “Very well. I will do what needs to be done.” Ryu addressed Yoshimitsu specifically “Who do you believe is the biggest threat to be the next Nightmare?” “Jin Kazama,” Yoshimitsu answered without hesitation. The choice caught Ryu slightly off guard. “You truly believe he is a greater risk than his father or his grandfather?” “He is not as twisted as the other two, however he is the strongest of the three,” answered Yoshimitsu. “There is goodness inside Jin, but he struggles with the darkness inside of him handed down by his lineage. I very much doubt he will win the struggle once you add in Soul Edge’s influence. A Jin Kazama corrupted by Soul Edge is the scariest outcome I can imagine.” The other warriors listened intently as Yoshimitsu continued. “There are other formidable villains out there like M. Bison and Shadoloo, Victor Donovan and MIST, but I have never seen Jin lose. So to me, that makes him the most frightening prospect.” “I will ensure that he does not make it to the sword,” Ryu Hayabusa promised. “I know Sogetsu and Kanzuki Kazama already went to confront him, so he may no longer be a danger,” Sophitia guessed. (REF: SOGETSU KAZAMA VS. JIN KAZAMA) “Need to make sure,” stated Ryu. The Dragon Ninja then made a hasty exit to begin his search for the Mishima Zaibatsu CEO. Yoshimitsu turned his attention to Seong Mi-Na. “Tell Z.W.E.I. and Talim the time has come to guard this position with their lives. If you or Viola know how to get in contact with any of the others we must hurriedly do so. I will convene with the rest of the Manji Clan so that we can fortify the area.” Yoshimitsu then looked over to Sophitia. “You are the purest of us all. I would trust no other to stay with the sword in its current form.” Sophitia bowed in appreciation of Yoshimitsu’s kind words. A short time later, Sophitia was alone with the wicked sword staring at her. It was at this time that Sophitia started thinking and worrying about everyone else. Everything had happened so fast. She wondered where her sister was now (REF: GUILE VS. CASSANDRA ALEXANDRA) and how long it had been since they spoke. She thought about Helena Douglas and the new allies she had made aboard the Freedom Survivor. (REF: NiCO VS. SOGETSU KAZAMA) She intended to tell Yoshimitsu to find a way to contact Helena once he returned so that she could inform her about everything that had happened and find out if she had heard from Sogetsu and Kazuki. Yoshimitsu’s words made Sophitia afraid for her friends. (REF: AYANE VS. SHIKI) Sophitia’s thought process was interrupted by the sight of a woman she did not know, who was walking casually toward her wielding a large war hammer. “Stop! Who goes there?” Sophitia exclaimed. “My name is Rachel, I am a find hunter. I have come to see the Soul Edge sword and help my friend, Ryu Hayabusa,” the woman answered. “Ryu is no longer here, he went on a mission a little while ago,” Sophiita informed. “Then I will see him once he returns. In the meantime I need to use Soul Edge,” stated Rachel. Sophitia’s eyes bulged. “Use Soul Edge? That is impossible. No one just uses Soul Edge unless you desire to be its new champion.” “Absolutely not. You don’t have to worry about me. I’m strong willed,” Rachel insisted. “I just need it to help me be rid of an unwanted guest.” (REF: NYOTENGU VS. ELIZA) “No,” Sophitia repeated. “I cannot allow what you are asking. The risk is too great. How did you even find us?” “The fortune teller guided me here as requested by the Dragon Shrine Maiden, Momiji,” Rachel replied. (REF: HONOKA VS. IBUKI) The wandering eye of Soul Edge locked onto Rachel as she glanced over to it. Her tone slightly changed. “Also, I wasn’t asking for permission, just stating my intention. I did not travel all this way to not complete my mission.” Rachel walked toward Soul Edge and Sophitia stood in her way. Sophitia could feel the malevolent presence inside Rachel. Rachel frowned. “I don’t want to have to fight you, that isn’t why I’m here,” said Rachel. “I have fiend blood inside me, but I am not what you fear I am. Did Ryu not talk about me?” “Our time together was brief,” answered Sophitia. “Well. don’t you know that you can use a weapon crafted by evil without being evil yourself. Did you not sense the sword that Hayabusa is carrying around?” Rachel inquired. “I did, and I know others that have used cursed weapons. Ivy Valentine has. Kilik has. Yoshimitsu has. Sogetsu and Kanzuki’s swords have demons trapped within….” “Then you understand.” “Soul Edge is different from all those weapons,” Sophitia declared. “And I didn’t sense the darkness within any of those wielders the way I do you.” “I have been possessed by a demon,” Rachel informed. “It is why I need Soul Edge so that I can set myself free.” “You need to find another way.” “There is no other way.” Rachel again walked toward Soul Edge and again Sophitia impeded her path. “You may believe that you can resist the Evil Seed, but given your genetic makeup and that thing inside you, you cannot.” Sophitia warned. "And I can’t afford to let you try. This may have been Soul Edge's plan all along.” Rachel groaned in frustration as she lifted her war hammer. “You need to know that you are bringing this on yourself.”
  19. Not to say that Zasalamel couldn't or shouldn't win because he is a menace, but Momiji is a killer with some impressive feats of her own in the Ninja Gaiden series.
  20. GAINING AN EDGE: A MASSIVE FIGHTING GAME CROSSOVER PART 186 In the hospital courtyard, Shiki dashed at Ayane with her twin swords and performed an overhead slash. Ayane ducked under the attack and used her great speed to hop between slash attempts from Shiki. (REF: AYANE VS. SHIKI) Ayane took out her butterfly kunai and twirled rapidly like a small purple tornado, disarming Shiki in the process. Ayane attempted a slash of her own as Shiki reached down to regain her swords. Shiki sidestepped the offensive thrust and pushed Ayane away. She then jumped and wrapped her legs around Ayane’s head and performed a Tartarus Drop hurricanrana. Shiki stomped on Ayane’s face before the kunoichi could return to her feet. Shiki teleported over to her dropped swords and grabbed the handle of one of the blades. She was unable to get a good grip on the other one before Ayane knocked it away with a swift back kick. Shiki jabbed forward with the sword in her right hand. Ayane jumped in the air and performed a backward roll over Shiki’s head. When she landed, she executed a jumping corkscrew kick that hit Shiki in the back. Shiki fell forward and tried her best not to lose hold of her one remaining weapon. Ayane extended her right foot high in the air and brought it down hard across the back of Shiki’s head. Shiki gutted through the pain of the kick and swiped her sword at Ayane’s legs. Ayane again somersaulted into the air and landed with a thunderous kick on Shiki’s head. Shiki stumbled backward as the successive blows started to affect her. Without hesitation, Ayane stepped on Shiki’s shoulders and violently twisted Shiki’s head with her thighs, she then stood on Shiki’s shoulders, repositioned herself, and punted Shiki in the back of the head. Shiki’s sword flew out of her hands and landed several feet away. The quiet assassin, herself, face planted on the ground. Shiki attempted a quick recovery, but Ayane was waiting with an overhead back handed hit comboed into an uplifting strike that knocked Shiki backward. Ayane spun elegantly like a top, her hands glowing with purple ninpo energy, and landed several strikes on the defenseless Shiki. She then stopped and held up two fingers on each hand, summoned her ki and hit Shiki with a powerful ninpo blast that sent her sprawling into a tree trunk. Shiki’s body slid slowly down the tree trunk. Wanting to ensure the fight was over, Ayane tossed two butterfly kunai into Shiki’s chest to put the assassin down for good. Ayane heard a wail and a shout and tilted her head to the right to see Zack rushing out to tend to Kokoro who was still bleeding after her own fight with Shiki. (REF: KOKORO VS. SHIKI) “Don’t worry baby girl, I got you,” Zack assured. “The one who did this to her is now dead,” stated Ayane. “You’re welcome.” “Who was that chick? Some rival shinobi?” asked Zack. “I have never seen her before now,” Ayane responded. “Her garments don’t match any clan that I know of. Recognizing Kokoro is what brought me here.” “I have more questions, but I don’t think I would like the answers,” said Zack. He gazed down at Kokoro. “The important thing is that we get you taken care of. Luckily, we are in the perfect place.” “What are you two doing here?” Ayane inquired. “Trying to eviscerate evil,” Zack responded. (REF: GUILE VS. KING) “So your boss is lending more to this fight than just her singing voice,” Ayane remarked sarcastically. “Man, Miss Helena put together one of the most impressive collections of fighters ever seen to combat this thing,” Zack bragged. (REF: EL FUERTE VS. EL BLAZE) “Granted, that coalition almost immediately imploded (REF: ELIOT VS. LEO KLIESEN), and Helena herself got involved in a fight with the Polish Prime Minister. (REF: LIDIA SOBIESKA VS. HELENA DOUGLAS) But, she has been working hard and we haven’t given up.” “I don’t have time for this,” Ayane declared. “Just make sure Kokoro gets the medical attention she needs.” “Where were you headed? That ominous orange explosion cloud? That’s where the pretty Italian fortune teller and the stretchy guy ran off to,” Zack noted. (REF: MAI SHIRANUI VS. DHALSIM) “I don’t know who you are talking about and I don’t care about any orange clouds. I came here to lead the Hanjimon sect of the Mugen Tenshin against G Corporation. (REF: GUY VS. RYO SAKAZAKI) I am on my way to the Millenium Tower,” Ayane explained. “Good luck over there, you might need it,” Zack remarked. “I would offer to help out but I have to make sure my team is taken care of and tell the boss lady all that has happened.” “Your assistance isn’t necessary, nor is it desired,” said Ayane. Zack shrugged. “I thought you might say that, just thought I would let you know we are on the same side.” “Tell Helena that if she has any moves left to make, the time is now,,” Ayane advised. Ater those parting words, Ayane left the courtyard and disappeared into the night sky. —--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Former NESTS assassin, Angel, and Russian wrestling legend, Zangief, tore into each other inside the lobby of the Millenium Tower. (REF: ANGEL VS. ZANGIEF) Angel assaulted the large brute with her Real Rave series of kicks and punches until Zangief was successfully able to swat her away with his trademark backhand. He then hopped into the air and struck Angel with his knees before landing on one knee and kicking at Angel’s feet to keep her off balance. Zangief grabbed the reeling Angel and powerbombed her through a nearby reception desk. He slammed his fist on the ground in an effort to pound on Angel, but she easily avoided it by spinning on her back and launching Zangief in the air with a forceful upward kick. Angel juggled Zangief in the air for a bit by dashing back and forth and landing strong kicks and punches on the World Warrior veteran. Angel finished her combo with a vicious gut punch that crumpled her musclebound opponent. Angel picked up Zangief with the intent of driving him back into the ground with her favorite bulldog technique. Zangief blocked this attempt with a powerful punch from his right hand followed by smashing his large red boot in Angel’s face. Angel gave as good as she got and tagged Zangief with a double striking backward flip bicycle kick. The two heavy hitters continued to exchange blows with neither able to fully use their immense strength to overpower the other. In desperation and with a head of steam, Zangief followed his Double Lariat with a stronger, faster, and longer version of the technique. Zangief’s face turned beet red as he put all he had into the move to clobber Angel and get his revenge for what she had done to Mika. (REF: ANGEL VS. R. MIKA) With the first two spins, Zangief hit his target and then Angel crouched instinctively to avoid more damage. She waited until his body revolutions slowed, and then sprung up and locked her arm around his collarbone. She leapt into the air and twisted backward with her Blue Monday counter, an homage to the Rock Bottom. She slammed Zangief to the ground with such velocity that the floor gave way and the two tumbled into the underground parking garage below the lobby. They both smashed into a red Acura NSX type S and remained there. Neither the Red Cyclone nor the fun-loving mercenary returned to their feet. Kazuya Mishima watched the entire fight from a security camera in his office and was nonplussed by the result. He didn’t get much time for a reaction as more alarms sounded in the Millenium Tower. In quick succession, many Mugen Tenshin clan ninjas smashed through windows throughout the building. They had begun their planned attack (REF: DHALSIM VS. RYUJI YAMAZAKI) on the G-Corporation. Kazuya stood up and exhaled audibly. He was insulted by this foolish assault and decided he would deal with as many of them as he could personally. He wanted to make an example of them, as he had done to Terry Bogard (REF: BRUCE IRVIN VS. CRIMSON VIPER) after their fight atop the Millenium Tower rooftop. (REF: TERRY BOGARD VS. KAZUYA MISHIMA) Once he reached the doorway to his office, however, he stopped. He felt someone staring at him. He turned to see the strongest member of the Mugen Tenshin clan, Kasumi, looking back at him. She had not traveled with the Hanjimon sect, but when Kasumi had noticed them descending upon the building, she waited for them before making her move. “You ninjas are quite sneaky aren’t you?” stated Kazuya. “My name is Kasumi of the Mugen Tenshin, and I am here to defeat you,” she declared. “What business does your clan have with me?” Kazuya sneered. “It is our mission to eliminate all the evil and negative energy that is feeding the supernatural sword, Soul Edge,” Kasumi explained. “It was that mission that brought me into conflict with your recently revived mother. (REF: KASUMI VS. KAZUMI MISHIMA) After I killed her, I gave her my word that I would complete her life’s mission by taking down you and your father.” (REF: BASARA VS. NECALLI) Kazuya remained focused on his goal and was unfazed by this revelation. “If you really wanted to honor my mother you would go destroy the old man.” “I had gone after Heihachi initially, but discovered he had already been defeated by another. (REF: HEIHACHI MISHIMA VS. ALGOL) That leaves only you, Kazuya,” Kasumi proclaimed. Kazuya glared at Kasumi with malicious intent. “You are going to wish that your mission had brought you elsewhere. It is not my destiny to feed into Soul Edge, it is my destiny to control Soul Edge!” As the last words escaped Kazuya’s lips, his devil eye flashed red. “I will never allow that to happen! Not as long as I am standing with breath in my body,” Kasumi shot back. “That condition can easily be undone,” Kazuya threatened.
  21. You are right, she finds it as a toddler. My memory of that movie must be a little shaky.
