  1. Lain's abilities/plot:

The way that they are supposed to work is that she was the avatar corporeal form of the 7th protocol that had complete control over the "wired"(the internet) at the same time that the wired became powerful enough and flexible enough to interact with the electromagnetic field of the earth.

Basically Lain is a software program that had complete control of the internet and was able to downloaded itself into the earth's magnetic field.

How her powers work in the real world is less clear. The way the series explains it, she should be able to control the minds and memories of all living creatures, as well as having significant control over the earths EM field and naturally resonant sound waves. This included, but was not limited to, making a body in the real world that could interact in a real way with people.

  2. Yay! Another -vs- Twilight wanker battle!

    Know who wins?

    Edward Cullen.

'cause a woman who is stuck writing like a teenager made him uber-awesome and even if someone could beat him, she'd create time travel and re-write things to make Edward even more uber-awesome!

Stephanie Whatsherface is awesome like that!

(No offense aimed at you either sirmethos)

  3. For me it'd have to be the original House Of The Dead, I played it in the arcade all the time so it holds a sense of nostalgia for me, I remember swearing as I ran out of quarters, and blowing arms and heads off of zombies.

House of the Dead was always too damn scary for me to even TRY to play. Yes, I'm a wimp like that. Lmao

My favorite's Resident Evil. Specifically the Outbreak ones.

  4. So Wade becomes a Herald of Galactus. Surfer comes to collect. A fight ensures, and I cant tell if Wade drops the Sun on Surfer or simply manifests this HUGE fire ball. What ever it is, its bigger than the planet, and Surfer manages to rebound it ala DBZ. Sheeze.

  5. If you’re a twentysomething who’s been jonesing for repeats of All That and Clarissa Explains it All, then this news is for you: EW has learned exclusively that starting this fall, TeenNick will dust off old faves like Rugrats, Kenan & Kel, Pete & Pete, The Amanda Show, All That and Clarissa and air them in a new midnight-to-2 a.m. programming block dubbed (appropriately enough) The ’90s Are All That. The tween cabler came up with the idea after seeing the huge interest in early Nickelodeon programming on social media sites. There are several Facebook pages — followed by millions of fans — that are devoted to Nickelodeon shows from the ’90s.

“At the time, we were completely devoted to that audience ages 9, 10, and 11,†Keith Dawkins, senior VP and general manager of TeenNick, tells EW. “It was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. Those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back.â€

Over time, TeenNick hopes to use the retro block to showcase other ’90s programming and movies. So if you didn’t get a chance to see Good Burger then…

Hell yeah, I finally get to watch Clarissa Explains it All once again.

Now, if only they add Salute your Shorts and Hey Dude to the block.
