So this is it. The end. I first found the FPL in 2001. Actually, it may have been 2000. The details are sketchy. I don’t even remember how I came to find it. The point is, it was a long time ago. The FPL was, to me, a revelation. The people were comic book geeks – just like me – but they came from all walks of life, all ages and even spanned a few continents. Almost everyone was friendly and accepting, and even those few who weren’t were at least entertainingly mean. The conversations were lively, the laughs were consistent and the headaches were few. Sure, I butted heads with many over my hatred of anime and penchant for ... well ... let’s just call it outspokenness ... but it was a place I enjoyed greatly and looked forward to visiting. When I started, I was a terrible, terrible writer with terrible, terrible ideas. I mean, some have found hidden brilliance in The Facts of Life Hydra but really people, it was terrible. It took me a while to accept my terribleness, but once I did there were plenty of people ready and willing to help me improve. This was the Golden Age of Poe and Abdeil, I would remind you. There were plenty of inspirational sources to draw from and aspire to. In 2001, I finally had my first Hall of Fame character (Clockwork Knight, for you trivia buffs) and I pretty much found my stride after that. My writing got better. My ideas got better. I wrote match set-ups and fiction. I tried to help newbies find the same path. Good times. As fun as all this writing was, the real allure of the FPL was the people. It’s always been the people. Through rule changes and site implosions and coding glitches and multi-account scandals the one thing which kept me around was the chance to interact with you guys on a daily basis. The FPL (oh fine... and CBUB) is a community. More than that – a family. That’s why my decision to leave is so disheartening. So here we are at the heart of the matter then – the recent Second Coming of Serge. I make that comment in jest, but it’s not a bad analogy. Serge was always this mysterious, otherworldly entity to most of us. He was the Creator. He was the Great Coder in the Sky who provided for our flock. Still, you seldom saw him. In times of great tribulation, he would descend from the firmament and fix site errors or purge spam bots or bestow upon us upgrades. He was out there, feared and revered but not known. Not directly. Not by most. Unlike God, we didn’t know Serge in our heart. We didn’t know him personally and he us. Also unlike God, Serge was a real person. As a result, a more apt analogy is that of an absentee landlord. He owned the building, and made repairs as needed. He was hard to get ahold of though. Unless there was a serious problem, he pretty much left us to our tenancy and as long as we paid the rent (admittedly, and to his credit, zero in this case) he didn’t much care what we were doing. To tie this analogy to the recent hullaballoo, I’d like you to imagine living in an apartment owned by such a landlord. You and your family are enjoying dinner one evening when the landlord walks into the apartment unannounced and starts freaking out. “You painted the walls?!?”, he wails. “10 years ago they were beige! And this sofa – that wasn’t there before! And I never intended those windows to covered with blinds – where are the curtains? And what’s the deal with this dog? I had a no pet policy!” “This has been like this from the start,” you reply meekly, “how were we supposed to know what you intended this apartment to be? You could have dropped in at any point in the last decade and done an inspection.” “I was busy,” says the landlord, “but now that I see the state of this apartment, there are going to be some changes. First, that dog has got to go – then the blinds and the paint and the sofa.” “Well hang on a second,” you interject, “you own the building, but we’ve lived here for 10 years. This is our home. Don’t we have any say in this?” “No,” comes the curt reply, “and quite frankly, anyone who would live with olive walls and vertical blinds must be a real douchebag. I’m of half a mind to kick you out for the good of the community.” “The community?” you reply, “you don’t know the first thing about the community.” “Sure I do,” comes the confident response, “everyone loves Linkin Park and NSync and is excited about these new iPod things which are coming out soon!” “Yeah that was true 10 years ago, but things have changed...” And you know, things have changed. A lot. It’s a shame that it took Serge 10 years to figure that out, and a bigger shame that instead of accepting what we’ve become and embracing it, he is dialling it all back so that it matches his original vision. To continue to analogy above, it’s like deleting your Facebook account and replacing it with a Linkin Park fansite on Geocities. I think the biggest problem is that – like the landlord above – Serge has been absentee for too long. He’s not a part of our community any more than your landlord is a part of your family. He doesn’t have any idea who we are and what we’ve been doing and – more distressingly – doesn’t seem to particularly care. Had he bothered to find out anything about the guys from the “whitey” thread, he’d know they were all stand up guys and not a racist among them. But he’s made up his mind: about the thread, about the posters, about the whole damned site. So now, Electric Ferret is going to be a super happy funtime place for kids! Hooray! Finally, a safe place for kids to discuss comics and cartoons and not have to be exposed to the sex, violence, racism and religious persecution of the real world. A place where they will be spared from having to understand controversial topics like sexual assault, drug abuse, homosexuality, war, politics, domestic violence, child abuse, fascism and terrorism. It pains me to leave, but I just don't want to be a part of this new Electric Ferret. I don't want to be censored from discussing relevant issues or banned for trying to argue a point or have my characters edited to make them child-friendly. More importantly, I resent being told that after a decade of positive contribution that I'm no longer wanted here. I'm too old. I'm missing the point. I'm inappropriate. F*ck that. I'm taking the first lifeboat off this Titanic, and I suspect a number of others will do so as well. It's been fun, kids. Take care. EXCELSIOR!

So my history here at EF has always been very singular. I started out in the CBUB. I stayed there, with no mind to any other part. Then I went to the FPL and only really cared about that. Then, for the past 5 years, I only really cared about the forums. My oh my, how the forums have changed. The EF was completely redone, with a new beta and everything. Nostalgia has rarely hit me as hard as it has here on the EF. Even with Pokemon and whatever else nostalgia is supposed to work with, EF is up top. Now, with the most recent change to the forum, Off-Topic being destroyed and Soberguy leaving, I see my time in the forums are now up. It has nothing for me there anymore except a place to put shallow movie opinions and read bigballerju's even shallower opinion. So I've decided to start a blog. Obviously enough, they have running related names. Not entirely undeserved, however, as these blogs will be trials. I'll actually have to post in them and whatnot. That brings me to the name of this one. Everyone feels good the first mile. The first blog is the easiest. All I have to do is hit publish and I'm already done with my first one. The second one will be alright too probably. It'll get tougher and tougher after that, establish a schedule for them or something. Who knows? But I'm posting this one, enjoy it. I'm sad with the new changes. Serge is right in everything he has said. F it, I'm too lazy to retype all my thoughts so I'm going to copy and paste what I sent Serge in a PM. "You asked that question in your recent crackdown on the Off Topic boards. You say some of us are too old for this site. I agree, some of us are too old for the site that you envisioned. It's your site, you do what you want with it, I respect that completely. However, this is why I'm still here, despite not reading a new comic book in a good 3 or 4 years probably. I'm here because I grew up here. I've learned a lot here and it isn't from the debating of comics. It's from the political, social, cultural debates. Between having Ivan come in here and talk his educated talk to Rhekarid beating understanding and acceptance into me to having Soberguy smear his bleeding heart liberalness over the site, I've learned a lot. From who I am, my views, how to express them, and so on and so forth. I have outgrown the point, or rather, your point of this site. But I don't think I can ever really outgrow something that has influenced me as much as this site. This message is not some farewell letter for me to get banned. I respect and agree with what you are doing with the Off Topic board. It's your site, do what you want with it. That is not to say that I like it. That said, I'm not defending the thread that started it. LoneWolf is a bit of an idiot who has envisioned a perfect person and demands everyone to be that way. I am, however, attempting to defend the right to continue these adult topics. Your target audience, I'm afraid to say, is completely different than your actual audience. This is of no concern to you as membership does not affect you in any sort of way. However, I just don't think that you can ban everyone who does want a bit more adult topics here. I don't know you and you don't know me, so maybe this is the humanist in me, but I don't think you can be that, well, bad of a person. I don't think you can banish people from a community that means something to them. I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not. You haven't banned Soberguy yet, and it seems like he's making posts that are similar to sirmethos, darkender, and Mr. Green, all of who were banned, so something is going on in that brain of yours that shows that you aren't banning everyone who speaks up. Again, this isn't me asking to be banned or defending racist statements. This is me saying it is your site, do what you like with it, but know that it has changed and evolved from what you wanted it to be, better or worse. It evolved from a desired 13-16 year old comic haven to a community of people ranging from 12 years old to Soberguy's 40. They've found a place here and they've been here for years, decades even. Don't take it from them now." Now, Serge said it's time for some of us to grow up and move on. Soberguy has done that. i fear that M Bison will do it very soon (if I know him at all) and I think Nova will do so as well. When they leave, who else do I come here for? Treach doesn't troll non-FPL topics enough and I'm too lazy to get back into the FPL to see all those people post. So this is me growing up and moving on. When I stop posting these blogs, that'll probably be the last I post here on the EF. After 6 years here, which doesn't even compare to some other people's tenure here, it's been a great time. As said in my PM to Serge, the EF has had a huge impact on my life. I won't forget it and I'll always remember some of the people I met here. Until Alzheimer's kicks my ass, of course.

Hmm, well I guess if you were going to do something with these two characters together, then this would be that thing. And now, Ted spectates the match...

The site is open. Registration is open. The core features seem to work regarding Matches (start and stop) and adding Characters. The Forum has a lot of features. It's pretty fun. Changes: Rated matches now occur via the Stars rating 'Rate This Topic'. Any forum member can rate a Rated Match ... and are encouraged to do so! Members titled as CBUB Match Judge get their ratings counted X3. Points by rank There's still 5 ranks, with 5 being lowest and 1 highest. There used to be an arcane system whereby certain ranks could only be achieved after a certain number of matches had been created. That's all been removed. It's just a flat system based on your current weighted average regardless of number of matches. Added more points to rank 5 so newbies can make more matches. now 4, up from 2. So anyways, it works. It's probably not a great website to try and use on a Mobile phone. It's only been open a couple days. Could be awhile before there's more people here. I'll look into repairing the Fantasy Draft system. Maybe we can get one going in a couple weeks. Thanks!

It is absolutely fair to call out when somebody is trying to leverage powers a character has which are beyond the intended scope of the slot. For example, Jinny Hex apparently has a green lantern ring laying around. Is it fair to debate a character using a green lantern ring in the Wild West slot? Not at all. So we ignore it.

I want to thank everyone who participated in September. I have seen a lot of great and memorable matches over the last few months. Who could forget Bergy_Berg's three-match story or SSJRuss' 'Beetlejuice vs. Batman'? September was no different and... dare I say... I think the bar has even been raised. I will have to personally re-evaluate what I consider a '5-star' match in the coming months. They are just all that good. Thanks for all the great reads!

First I want to thank God and Meryl Streep. I'd like to thank DC Comics for making Batman a stupidly OP character. I'd like to thank the system for giving my characters generally favorable matchups and scenarios. And I'd like to thank my opponents, who drafted such shitty strong teams to contend with.

OOC: @SSJRuss you're up first against me. IC: Where did Erine go? Looking around it's as she has vanished, disappearing suddenly from sight. Suddenly, out from behind a crate pops up masked woman! She resembles Erine in body size, but her face is concealed by a empty sandbag with crude holes cut out for the eyes and mouth! Who could this be?! The masked fighter turned and pointed at none other than the tranquil turtle himself, Farley. "Hey turtle man! You're going nowhere. I got you for three minutes. Three minutes of playtime!" Not Erine shouted out, hopping into the makeshift ring.

One day, several weeks ago, at the Church of Healing Unity soup kitchen Komi was doing her usual job of helping to feed the needy who came in, and some of the acolytes too, as they often ate there as well, to socialize and evangelize the beggars who came in. It came to pass that a particular winged tiefling was the last in line for the meal. He smiled a lot and always tried to talk to Komi but she was too shy so far to respond. This time - panic! He was the last in line, so there was no one else to focus on! When he asked if she would sit with him and eat, there was no way she could refuse! Numbly, she nodded and grabbed the lunch she'd packed for herself - that she intended to eat out on the balcony, alone, and followed him to whatever table he chose to go to. Komi had yet to say a word. She had never been among the people who scorned him, at least among their peer group. Though it was mostly an attitude carried over from the more conservative members of the faith, nonetheless it had been something picked up by everyone else. As though a tiefling was something to be hated, despised and even feared. Nothing open of course, there were far too many eyes for it. It was little things. Teachers would ignore him when he had questions or mock him if he didn't know the material. He'd practice alone or with those who didn't feel that way, scarce as they were. Food would sometimes be burned or over salted when given...Little things. But not from her. His food was never harmed when he came in line after finishing his work here, though she had yet to speak back. They were in the same age group he knew that much, though growing up she had always been quiet too.She never laughed at him anyway. That put her in the clear minority. Now finally, here they were...Eating together before he finally spoke. "I'm going to leave in a week." Komi stared at him for a long moment before saying, softly, "You shouldn't quit. I think you are a very sweet person." She was blushing furiously and looking down at the remains of her lunch. She had a very artfully crafted charcuterie of meats, cheeses and delicate bread slices that she'd meticulously assemble into tiny sandwiches one at a time. There was only enough left for a couple more of these at this point. "You shouldn't let bullies run you off." She added, staring firmly at a particular piece of bread that was vaguely heart-shaped. He blinked and then smiled warmly at her. "That's sweet of you to say. But that's not why I'm leaving...Well, not entirely." His fingers stroked the handle of his sword in a contemplative gesture as he spoke on. "I'm taking my Quest for Truth early. The Abbot thinks I'm ready and so do I. I figured I'd start off in Eastrun City." He took a few bites of his food, swallowed and went on. "They're having a shortage of adventurers and I figured I could hone my skills and start off there with Jessamine." There was so much to unpack there. She had been told she was ready for her Quest for some time now, but she was too meek to go on her own. The embarrassment continued when he mentioned Jessamine. "Jessamine is your... girlfriend then?" She kept her eyes off of him, busying herself with making her next mini sandwich. He snorted with laughter. "No. She's my partner." He held up his sword as he added dryly. "After Master Jinn took me to....Er, celebrate my eighteenth birthday I found her in a corner calling to me. She's a spirit who lives in my sword and loves to flirt with me for some reason. I expect its mostly just a reaction." There were at least four blinks before Komi spoke, and the bonnet on her head seemed to ride higher than usual. If Corvo was observant enough, he'd make out the outlines of the Neko ears that manifested when she was exceptionally startled or surprised. She knew she had to say something so she offered up a random fact about herself. "I'm nineteen, myself." He smiled. "Me too. I've had her for a year now and some months." He placed the sword back and leaned forward as he added. "I know it's normal to wait. But I feel ready. And I didn't want to leave without saying goodbye to possibly one of my few friends here." If it were possible, her eyes widened further. "I'm.... I'm your friend?" She looked at him for a moment before she looked down again and devoured her second-to-last sandwich so she'd have an excuse not to say anything more. Only one excuse left. She thought to herself. He blinked and then looked briefly unsettled as he asked. "I'm sorry if I made a mistake. It's just...Well, never mind then." Her mouth opened. No words came out. Quick! Do something! Her inner voice told her. So she grabbed his hand, almost violently. Words would not come, so she just nodded furiously, which caused her bonnet to slip back, revealing the extra set of ears that showed up now and then, followed by a squeak as she used her free hand to attempt to cover them up, to little avail. Oh. That was forward. He could feel his sword almost burning, though curiosity compelled him to look closer. His free hand reached out, gently tugging off her bonnet as he blinked. "...Are you like me?" There was a brief note or wonder in his tone before he chuckled and said warmly. "I like it. It's cute." Komi shrugged and shook her head. "...N-no. I don't think so anyway. Both my parents are human, but now and then... this happens. Maybe I have some tabaxi or... more likely, kitsune... in my lineage somewhere. I..." She paused and shrugged again. "...I can't control when it happens, and they go away after awhile. It's why I always wear a bonnet." Exceedingly self-conscious now, she realized she was holding his hand and jerked it back, as if she'd burned herself. "I... I think I'd like to be considered your friend, Corvo." He smiled, a little shy and quite happy. That was a turn of phrase he didn't hear often and it was nice to hear. He just wished it had been done sooner. He would have known her better as he said suddenly. "So when are you going on your quest?" She squeaked again. "...I don't know. I suppose soon, but I should give them time to find a replacement for me." She tapped her forefingers together. "What if I'm not ready? Do you think I'm ready? I could maybe... Find you in Eastrun?" He nodded. "Yes. I'll be there. If not working." Komi looked around nervously - as if she did much any other way, then leaned forward lightning-fast and kissed Corvo on the cheek. "For luck." She stood up. "I should go help them with the dishes." A quick bow and she was gone, fluttering back to the kitchen. One thing he did notice though, that when she retreated, the cat ears had disappeared again.

Hello CBUB Fight Creators You may recall that CBUB Tournaments were a thing back in the day. And, you may even recall that these contests of CBUB match making skill had a prize for the winner. Next month we look forward to restoring this illustrious tradition with the CBUB June Challenge. Each Tourney contestant will need to produce at least 3 Rated matches of their choosing in June. The person with the highest FPA at months end will win. Person with top FPA will receive a $100 Amazon gift card. That's the nutshell version. I'll post a separate page with the contest rules before June. Could be fun.

Sorry for not commenting on this sooner! I think this was an excellent write-up and the framing of Khazan was great! The idea of characters like Jiren, Joker, and Saitama just casually standing around as Yang and Fixit throw hands is hilarious. Almost feels like it'd be the backdrop for a 2D-fighting game with Jiren paying the battle no mind, Saitama just wanting to get the paperwork done so he can catch up the latest sale in the Khazan Market, and Joker and Bell just wanting to make it out of here in one piece. I can't really say I speak as an authority on Joe but after doing some research on him, I feel like I'm leaning more towards him! Yang's punches are definitely gonna be felt given the feats we've seen her pull off like punching away a Ursa just as big-if not bigger than Joe or smashing a mecha built for war with nothing but her bare fists. Joe's best bet would be to try and place Yang into something of a submission hold and choke her out before letting this drag out for too long. Because if he gets stronger and stronger and gives Yang one good punch, he's not gonna like it when she returns that same level of PUNCH right back at him. Awesome write up, my friend. : )

It's coming along. Just trying to get the new character submissions working again. With any good fortune, might be able to open up the CBUB control panel and site registrations tomorrow. Definitely want to do a CBUB Fantasy Draft again. Good times. I'll look at the FPL next. It's very complicated and could be a lot longer before that is available again.

Steve Fox returns to the THUNDERDOME... Dome... Dome... Dome! Will he be second time lucky? I guess we'll find out. I personally like Rocky Balboa here, though. No reason besides an image in my head of Balboa flying through the air while wielding a chainsaw and screaming "Adriaaaaaane!"

Something that I haven't seen brought up is that Beyond is definitely stronger than her. His suit enhances his strength a lot. This feat alone honestly should have disqualified him. That's at least dozens of tons of stuff on top of him that he just pushed through. By the logic of "Wolverine can be defeated via concussion," him battering her around would likely do the trick

Also, in my experience, someone being a jerk and actively trying to break someone up usually only brings two people closer together. In order to break someone up, there needs to be actual motivation to leave your partner --be it for another partner or some other ambition. I don't think Homer has it in him to woo either Eric or Donna. And I don't think he'd be able to inspire anything in them... But I think Dorothy would be more than capable of convincing Eric or Donna to go after their own personal dreams and set their relationship to the side. "Follow your own yellow brick road..."

Kite Man is a friendly as hell himbo who managed to get the misanthrope Poison Ivy to fall in love with him. Guy's got a big heart and a lot of endearing confidence despite being treated as a loser by many. I figure he could appeal to a lot of goons at the very least.

I'm just really surprised how appropriate the random Scenario that came-up is for both these contenders. Man, I love Fantasy Draft matches. Just really takes you off the beaten track.

I dunno. Maybe you should save that creativity for October. The Horror for Halloween Tournament!

We did it! Yay! And look, we even have a final round that the event never had before. With this final round we will find out who had the strongest team in Season 3. I guess we can start looking at a Draft of Season 4 in just a couple days!

Cordova watches the conversation, her good eye darting back and forth as each individual speaks up. She thinks on the exchange for a moment, then speaks up. "Perhaps I have spoken imprecisely." She looks directly at Karen. "As registered heroes, it is your sworn duty to uphold peace and justice in this city. You are not vigilantes, and are not authorized to use lethal force unless absolutely necessarily. If you never find yourselves in such a situation, then good. However, I merely want to assure you that we have a legal team on staff that will defend your actions, if they are truly justified. I want you to know that no amount of force is too much in this war." She pauses. "Of course, if you can bring down the criminals without needing to resort to such measures, all the better."

The owner looks shocked, it looks like this kitty used up one of it's famous nine lives. He wondered to himself how many lives cats actually lived, if that was a myth or fact. He would not like to live more than one life, he thought. He was satisfied with his life as the owner of a random pub in the middle of nowhere, he had his lovely innocent half dwarf daughter with him, who he was sure was as innocent as the day she was born. Ah, he loved her with all his heart. He passed a glass of milk to Elbine.

Nah, it clearly establishes that it's during a full moon during that episode. I misremembered it that way too though. As for the fight, Katara would probably win a straight-up fight. Sub-Zero's ice attacks are all very slow, and Katara is a master martial artist with magical powers. I think she's got a good chance. However, in this scenario, Sub-Zero probably comes out on top. Not giving Katara any warning is kind of a guaranteed win for someone who trained as an assassin

I agree with everyone above, the story is short, but you're right that they don't need much rain to fight other than "Hulk Smash", "All-might don't like that". The only thing I don't really get is why would they teleport Hulk to s random dimension? The only reason Black Widow hunts him down in the first movie is that they need him for the Avengers initiative right? Any who, movie Hulk loses to All Might, especially since at the beginning of the story he hasn't passed the quirk on to Deku. Strength wise, Hulk is strong enough to cause minor earth quakes when he's angry. Speed wise, he can outrun a Humvee, they have a maximum speed of 70 mph according to Google. Disability wise, he takes a lot of good hits from the Hulkbuster suit, who has comparable strength to Hulk before he gets angry. Now moving on to All Might. Strength wise, the first major feat he shows is punching his enemy so hard he affects the atmosphere causing it to rain The earthquake he causes are a bit bigger too Speed wise, this is towards the end of his superhero run when he's significantly weaker than at the start. He travels 5 kilometers in 30 seconds, which doing the math equals traveling at 373 mph (rounded up) So yes, All Might spanks Hulk like an angry stepparent.

Let's go with DSkills idea. Very good call. Here's the thing... Wikipedia has a legal fair use policy. That means that we can use their text in our pages as long as it's not for profit. Also, WIkipedia is not going away. I know people want to link to other Wiki's and take their text. That's not something we can do unless that particular Wiki permits it as a policy... and I really don't want to have to start keeping a list of ones that do. I don't really care about the text, honestly. Let's not be overly concerned about it. As long as there is some text, that's cool. This Forum software can make Wiki pages but it seems unreasonable to make people write Wiki entries for characters they add, in their own words, without grabbing the text from some other site. It's hard enough just to get people to find a good image of the character. TLDR; Use Wikipedia. Any text is fine.

"I thought you said this would be difficult, L." Her voice emanated softly out of the comms, carrying both a distinguishable Brazilian accent and a hint of mockery as she stalked quietly through the halls. "It is." A brusque almost drill sergeant sounding voice bluntly stated, illustrating well his annoyance for her tone. "If you don't want to end up with a bullet in your skull and a mission failure on your record, knock it off. The security on this place is no joke, and remember, I'm the one who's gonna have to come and get your sorry ass out of there if you get cocky. So don't." Deadshot warned. "Is that concern I hear in your voice?" "Cute. No, the only concerns I got are the time and bullets I'd have to waste charging in there after you while you're laid out on the floor trying to recover." "So you would--" "Both of you, can it. Keep your minds focused fully on the damn job." A third voice cut in, interrupting their back and forth before it could continue any further. He was even more no-nonsense than Floyd had been. Deadshot grunted in agreement, but Scandal fell silent for a short time. A few seconds passed before she chimed back in. "Have no fear. You have no idea what passes for training in my father's eyes. I've infiltrated far more dangerous places than..." Her sentence came to an abrupt end as she caught sight of blood slowly spreading out from beyond a corner just ahead. "S?" She didn't answer immediately, taking cautious and silent steps up to said corner and poking just enough of her head around it to shoot a glimpse down that hallway. There were at least four bodies littering the hall, with the walls stained with blood all over the place. "What do you see?" "Corpses. The walls in certain spots look like Jackson Pollock paintings, if he only used one color. Someone else must be here for the data!" She hurriedly reported, voice as loud as she could make it without giving away her position. "..." "..." That made things more complicated for sure. Another person, operating on their intel? There shouldn't have been any competition on this job. "You have eyes on who's responsible?" "No. I'm going in." There was silence on the other two's end as they let that fully sink in...and no sooner than it had were they moving to gear up. Scandal may have ended up needing all the back up they could muster, with this unknown person or group of people crashing their party. A fourth person spoke up on their comms in the heavy silence, concern obvious in his voice. "Stay safe, little savage." She cracked a grin, hearing that. It was...still weirdly nice having someone that cared that overtly. Scandal stepped up to another corner, edged her head just around it and caught a glimpse of the target area of the complex. Yet before she could proceed, a noise just above her drew her attention...and a loud metallic clang echoed throughout the area as part of the vent came crashing down into the floor, followed shortly by someone dropping down from above. The kick came so fast she didn't have time to react, it knocked her back a few feet before the soles of her boots grinded her to a halt. When her gaze focused on whoever the hell that was, she observed a slender young woman crouched in a landing stance and delivering a scrutinizing glare right back at her. "...You." There was no noticeable response to that, the woman only answering with a stare. It was only a few seconds later, when Scandal was about to yell out some indignant statement, that she bothered to speak at all. "If you're here for the data, you're too late. It belongs to us. That means leave. Now." "No. Someone's paying top dollar for it, and..." Scandal brandished the lamentation blades far more threateningly. "...We always deliver." "So be it. I gave you a chance." *snikt* Two sets of claws shot out of her hands at once, weapons to match the other's. No more needed to be said between them. The daughter of Vandal Savage charged the clone of Wolverine, both their battle yells mixing together into a ferocious howl that would have made anybody quiver in fear at least a little bit, no matter how they might have denied it. ----------------------------------------------- So here we have it folks! The daughter of Vandal Savage, the immortal 50,000 year old who knows all there is to know about combat and warfare and passed much of it(as well as a degree of his immortal nature) onto his daughter in the form of brutal training sessions designed to hone her into a worthy successor to his legacy, vs the lethal weapon X-23(Laura to her friends) who was bred and trained from birth specifically to be one of the most efficient assassins that ever walked the Earth. That childhood, plus subsequent learning from the likes of her progenitor, Gambit, Daken, among others, makes her a fearsome combatant indeed. Who shall come out on top?

All the current matches in progress will be up until Saturday, anyways. I need to work on the fight completion process. Thanks!

I prefer to offload as much functionality as possible to the Board systems. Like rating a match using the board's native system. And uploading character images in the Gallery. I changed the Rating System to 10 stars for future matches. Maybe that gives more opportunity for fine grained ratings of a match. Now, the thing is that any Member can rate matches using the board's stars system. I actually think this is better because a lot of times back in the day fights wouldn't get rated at all. I'm not actually sure how we ended up with the Match Judge system. But anyways, what we can do is have members who are Match Judges have their rating's count twice. So, all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
