Another Entry

Alright, welcome back to Marvel's Corner.   Now that I think of it, my title sounds like something Oprah would have.... Maybe I should change it... Hmmm...   Props to anyone who can come up with a better title. Now let's move on to today's topic. ------------------- Today's Topic: Wolverine: Enemy of the State   For those of you that are going "what?", today's topic is a comic book arc, published by Marvel comics. It's a great story, written by Mark Miller & drawn by John Romita Jr.   Both a

Marvel's favorite family, and unlikely saviors.

A few months back, I was perusing the CBUB of old, when I came across a match labeled "King Kong vs. The Fantastic Four." I entered it, and, to my amazement, King Kong actually had more comments going for him! I could not believe my eyes, how could this big ape (classic as he is) possibly have a chance against the Fantastic Four, a team that has fought against such villains as Annihilus, Dr. Doom, and Galactus? Then it hit me. Hit me HARD. People had no respect for the Fantastic Four as a t

Stuff

Alright, welcome back to Marvel's Corner.   Note: I want to thank the three people who've checked out my blog (Altough, that could just be me. I check on it a lot....)   I'll cut the chit chat (isn't this whole blog chit chat?) ------------ Today's Topic: Marvel & Hollywood   Well, as most people know (or should know), Marvel (the comic book company) has arrived to Hollywood. Yes, from the X-Men series, to Spider Man, Marvel is there to stay.   I'd like to take a moment to look at these mo

The Tradition continues...

Well, it seems that the dreaded Red Hulk will be having a new opponent to fight, and hopefully on who let's themselves become Rulk's punching bag.   "But who could this opponent be?" you wonder. As some of you may have guessed from the title, it's one who has had a "history" with Hulk, so to speak. Few rivals can withstand the Hulk's might, and fewer still canmanage to injure him with that nifty healing factor he has. It becomes all the more complicated when you introduce Rulk, who has a sadisti

It's Here!

Howdy! This is MarvelFan here at the new CBUB, which looks great by the way, serge (his name isn't capitalized).   I suppose I should tell you what this blog is about. To start off this blog is about entertainment, what I like, and what I don't like. The entertainment covered here can be from any medium, from books to videogames. I shall post reviews, snippets (whatever those are), publically anticipated events, my anticipated events, and possibly events from my life, that I feel are noteworthy

First Entry

Well, so begins the new Age of Marvel! The last one died with Spider Man: One More Day.   Man, I hate that book.   As you can tell, this blog is basically me talking about anything I want to. I'll try to keep things interesting but c'mon, you're reading this. You're obviously bored. Any old joke/pop cultural refrence will get you to smile.   Pull my finger.   *crowd laughs*   Marvel's Note: My blog also has a laugh track.   Okay, time to actually write something. -------------------- Today's t

The Creative Process

I thought it might be interesting to take a look at the character creation process through my eyes. This certainly isn't meant as a how-to or character creation guide because everyone's creative process is certainly going to be different. This is simply a description of the specific journey I took to create my most recent character, Silver's Hammer. I intend to lay all my secrets out on the table with this one, in the hopes that this is interesting to someone.   Silver's Hammer started, obvio

Rush Limbaugh released from hospital.   Yay. I'm so happy. We didn't have enough anti Obama, Glenn tried, but it wasn't the same.   Marvel and Disney Merge Official Cue fanboys screams. But I'm glad. imagine the Marvel/Pixar movies. Then with the biggest entertainment company in the world backing them up, they can take bigger risks and get more characters exposed. The only thing I'm depressed about is the state of the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. With Sony revoking the TV rights to Spidey,

In the beginning

"Everything starts somewhere, although many physicists disagree..."   I've quoted Larry Niven before, specifically with regard to his commentary on collaborative world building, and more specifically, the introduction to his short story "Flare Time" in the N-Space compendium (page 342 for those of you playing at home,) where he says you must have a dictator among the group in order to really get anything done.   As the duly appointed dictator of FPL continuity, I managed over 20,000 words on t

Chapter 1: Epitome

So I've been gone from CBUB for a couple months now due to the fact that I moved recently and I am still getting settled in and adjusting to my new job.   Anyway, I've been writing this story I came up with out of nowhere one day while I was bored at work.   It's kind of a sci-fi/fantasy cross over (you know set so far in the future it seems like the past), with kind of a super-hero vibe in my opinion.   The basic theme is this girl is ressurected Jurassic Park style, but her consciousness is tr

Chapter 2: My Lord and Savior

________________________________________________________________________________     Chapter 2: My Lord and Savior     Growing up on the streets was hard for anyone Vanessa reasoned. It would be much more so for herself, being a young, attractive female living in one of the roughest, harshest dregs encompassed by the kingdom.   Looking back, she wondered if those were her own words… or had been sent to her by the Demon…   She had been a lowly servant girl for a loathsome master. DAMMIT JASON! and Chucky comes over.

Last night Jason went out on another killing spree which is fine but he left his weapons on the floor.     "Dammit Jason!"   "What?"   "I tripped on your damn chain."   "Oh calm down."   "I can't calm down I have Chucky coming over."   "NOOOOO I hate that guy"   "I don't care he is bringing Leatherface."   "Oh really Okay lets clean up this house."   "Sweet"   Three hours later Chucky and Leatherface show up.     Chucky= Blue Leatherface= Green Jason= Red Me= Normal   I hear the door ring and

Chapter 3: Abyssal

Elizabeth felt a bit out of place. She was lying in a plush bed, lined with furs and large silken pillows. Her central nervous system was not bound by fatigue to the standard sleep cycle which was affecting her companions. She lay there, eyes closed and wandered the hallways of the stronghold using her auditory vision. Anywhere except in a sealed and fully enclosed room there was bound to be ambient noise which reflected off solid surfaces, and she could trace this to its origins and learn the

Random things about me

Favorite video games: All Bioware games plus KOTOR 2, Civ Rev, Brawl, and Uncharted Series I love Bioware's RPGs equally, as each had flaws and advantages. KOTOR had the best follower(HK) and most astonishing environment, Mass Effect had the best graphics and gameplay, Jade Empire had the most unique gameplay and was funniest, and Dragon Age had the best character interaction(Approval, Friendships, and Romances) and best morality( I HATE morality bars).   Favorite Book series: The Bartamaeus T

NASA: The future of space

Many people are frusturated by the fact that NASA recently cancelled its space shuttle program. Just yesterday, I came across a political cartoon in the paper, an astronaut representing US scientific superiority, cut off from the Earth by a pair of scissors wielded by Obama. Personally, I see no gain to the space shuttle program. Space has gleaned to us a vast wealth of information. Whether its the discovery that not all moons are the same, or a map of Mars' geological terrain, space is always g

The other side of the coin

Sooooo.... yea. Four years ago (Sweet gravy that's a long time) I started this, just got reminded about it, and decided to try and make some headway in it again. So, without further ado, heres the other world that makes up the universe concept     *Name*   As far back as anyone can remember, there has been magic in the world. No, not the kind of magic where playing cards are psychically read and coins disappear through subtle hand movements. The kind of magic that raises mountains with a twitch,

Aust Williams

"Explain to me again, why you hired my squad to do this mission, Mr. President?", These were the words spoken by a voice that belonged to mercenary Aust Williams, as the Australian man, began smoking a cigarette, while the president of the U.S, Mark Padilla sighed and after a couple of minutes, responded. "Because, it would be just like another Vietnam, Williams. Those...things would be killing men left and right, and you know who they would put the blame on? Me of course!! I plan, on being po

My faithsorely tested

My posts from the religon topics, along with something that has almost demolished my faith. Who Believes in God and Jesus Christ I'm going to be honest. I'd like to, and I think I still partly do, believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but I have problems. I like to think I'm a logical person and it just doesn't seem likely He exists, or there'd be more evidence. I also go agianst some of the greatest Christian opinions on controversial topics. The Ball?

Chapter 1 Part 4: The Ball?     Kurumi was astonished that there was a magician right in front of her. She was amazed that others could use magic but she wasn't too sure on how his worked. She knew how her own worked but not his.   "So you can use magic? Can you show me?"   Her eyes were just about glued to him as he nodded his head and proceeded to close his eyes and raise his hands into the air followed by twirling them around and then releasing them into a rivet of color making a pair of sw
