"It had been quite some time since the others had been called back to Khazan, less called more obligated really. Josh and Landon had stayed behind, only once ever really leaving the Omniversal Hub, and that was by mere accident. Landon's fault to be truthful. They'd come back with ample time before the second COMING... the COMING AGAIN. That had been weeks ago. Jonathan had finally crawled out of the Basement, calling for Josh's blood. Landon talked Sam into coming back. A few new faces had shown up, like Jeff and Lee. Everything was running smoothly, albeit Dean had yet to show. Josh could wait. Of course, this wasn't exactly what was on Josh's mind at the moment. Not two hours ago Josh had finished his 'shopping' at the local Comic Shop, buying two new handbooks for an upcoming Game he was preparing for. On his way back to Landon's he decided to take a shortcut through the back alleys, confident that he knew his way around CorpSec. As said, that was two hours ago. Josh had gotten himself utterly lost in the Labyrinthine alleyways of the large City Sector. In fact, he had a feeling that he had stumbled into Lowtown, which was just as bad if not worse. The graffiti and smell of decay seemed to echo his theory. Fate decided that being lost wasn't quite bad enough for Josh, so out of the lingering steam and shadows sauntered two guys twice Josh's size. They continued to edge towards Josh, the cleaner of the two told him to drop his bag and leave. Josh wasn't going to have any of that. Once it was realized that Josh wasn't going anywhere they both pulled out rather nasty looking vibro-blade knives. Josh didn't like where this was going one bit. No sir'ie, Josh Stone: Tome Master was now quite irked."

Personality: Almost everyone knows that Josh Stone is the Gamer's Nightmare. Recently he's become something of a spectacle, after being retired from the FPL he had a change of heart and registered with the Fallen, pulling out all backing he had with the LotMU. After his change in alliances he seemed to mellow out. Although he still held the spark of an uncontrollable temper and his penchant for sadism he has become much more collected. Yet below this cool demeanor lies a savage and primal beast. Beware his Anger.

Arcane Lore

"Josh put the Satchel that hung gingerly from his left shoulder onto the ground. It's contents glowing in a myriad of dark colors, the air began to crackle with mystic energy and the smell of Magik was in the air..." When Josh was first alighted upon this preternatural soil he was gifted by the Gaming Lords. This gift took the shape of his Core books and other gaming supplements being imbued with grand, mystical powers. Even having long since lost his Dice, wrecked his car, and thrown away the plushie Cthulhu, the books still remain. And from these do his new abilities come.

Every Dot and Tiddle

"Josh stooped down and opened the bag, bathing the alley with an eerie light. The two thugs took a step back, beginning to think this had been a bad Idea. Josh stood back up, two sheets of paper in his hands. He studied the papers carefully, then took a good long look at the two Thugs. With a nod he let the papers flutter into the wind where they both vanished in a shower of ash and embers..." Everyone, no matter how powerful, has limits. Josh can prove this with one simple action: retrieving their character sheet from his bag. It is this that allows Josh to discern an opponents greatest weaknesses and fears, however insignificant it may be, and their strengths. Quietus, Jack Spanky, even Lord Apathy... none are exempt from the power of the character sheet.

Environmental Awareness

"Josh stared at the two Thugs expectantly. Watching their every move. He could feel them there. He could sense every ripple in every emotion. They couldn't take it anymore, this was too much! There it was, Josh knew. They glanced at each other quickly, then the smaller one rushed him. Josh stood ready..." When you've GMed as long as Josh has you can tell by someone's character sheet just what they were thinking when they made it. With a little experience Josh has perfected this trait so that he can almost sense everything that's going through his opponents mind, specifically their emotions. This turns about into a rather crude early warning system, helping him to adjust quickly to any sudden change in pace on his opponents part.

Bushwack

  • Power: Axe
  • Level:Standard
  • Melee Attack Attack usable only hand to hand.
  • Weakness: Power in Item -Easy to Loseitem
  • Weakness: Not usable in terrain Hall of Mirrors
"The smaller Thug closed in on Josh quickly, ready to run him through with his knife. Out of seemingly nowhere Josh produced a large, crude, and lethal looking weapon. Only too late did the Thug realize what had happened, before he knew it Josh had swung the massive bladed weapon and cleft him in twain. The other Thug stared at Josh and the fresh corpse in horror. Josh dropped the gore soaked Bushwhack to the ground and awaited the Thugs next move. He didn't have to wait long before the Thug pulled out a pistol..." It's large, it's heavy, it's got a big frikkin blade on the end, it's a Bushwhack. It's the only means of real physical offence Josh has anymore, and Lords only know where he got it. As said before, its heavy, not really heavy, just heavy... that said one will understand why Josh would refuse to lug it around in a place like say the Hall of Mirrors, if yer gonna have to go looking for somebody why even bother? Not to mention that with such a large object and someone of Josh's build it wouldn't be much trouble to wrestle away...

Smoke and Mirrors

  • Power: Illusion Creation
  • Level:Supreme
  • Kit Power Link: Arcane Lore
  • Area Effect This attack causes damage in a large area.
  • Melee Attack Attack usable only hand to hand.
  • Weakness: Not usable in terrain Khazan Mall
"The Thug took aim and prepared to shoot Josh dead, right then and there. He never had a chance. Josh stood there staring and the Thug fired once, twice, three times. Then the image of Josh rippled and vanished and the real Josh, standing not ten feet away, waved his hand in the air and the Thug's world convulsed. The Steam became thicker and the Shadows began to writhe with life of their own. Great tendrils of inky black shadow whipped out from the darkness, enwrapping his arms and causing him to drop his gun. Josh then made some arcane symbol in the air and loosed a pair of fireballs from his other hand, the Thug just barely dodging them as he struggled with the shadowlings...." Disciplines, Arts, Spheres, Gifts, Arcanoi, Rituals, these are the grand abilities just beyond mortal reach. Represented as the powers and such that make the Vampires, Mages, and others that much more different than us. All stemming from one thing: the ability to shape and re-weave reality. Josh is learning slowly how, he can make himself vanish from the minds eye... manipulate shadows and light... cause things to warp and change... and even Project limited Magical attacks... or at least make it appear as such. His mastery of reality is only of the basest knowledge, so as those who refuse to believe, those of strong will, and those who have the innate ability to see beyond can easily ignore their effects. Not to mention that even attempting such Illusory powers in the Mall just bares no fruit, far too many unbelieving minds at work.

Before you stands...

"The Thug was putting up a grand fight with the enumerable tendrils that were wracking his arms, legs, and torso. All the while Josh was digging in his bag. Suddenly the Thug's world quaked again and the shadows retreated, and Josh stood again. The Thug looked for his gun frantically, only partially noticing the three sheets of paper Josh held in his hands..." Josh Stone is he who is the Master. He who creates such horrors as the Dark Lords and the Black Dragon, or the more subtle evils such as the Manipulative Vampire controlling the local Courts. Or mayhaps the players helpful friends such as the Great Wizard who acts as their Mentor, or maybe just the myriad of peasants and vagabonds at the bazaar. Even the players themselves are not immune to the Storytellers creative whim...

NPC's

  • Power: Commander
  • Level:Ultimate
  • Kit Power Link: Arcane Lore
  • Ranged Attack Attack usable at a distance (only).
  • Multi Attack Attack can hit multiple times during one strike.
"Josh released the sheets into the wind and they turned into small glimmers of silver light, which quickly streaked off into the alley. The Thug found his gun and stood up, grinning madly he began to take aim again. Then he heard the Growling. Looking around he saw three sets of glowing yellow eyes glaring at him from the shadows. In moments the Pack was on him like he was a Rabid Fomori. The three Werewolves tore him to shreds in less than seconds, leaving the bloody mess that was all that remained of the Thug they wandered back off into the night. Josh turned his back on the scene and picked up his bag. Now all he had to do was find his way back to Landon's." Werewolves, Vampires, Mages, Orcs, Elves, Hunters, and any other number of Monstrous Beasts and Lethal Characters. These are NPC's, the Non Player Characters. Those deemed unfit for normal player control. Be it a pack of Black Spiral Werewolves, a lone Dark Master of Magik, a small motley of Fey, a Massive Nexus Crawler, a cabal of Baali Vampires, or even the odd army of human stand-ins or Goblins, Josh controls them all and has no Qualms of letting THEM fight for him. Just pray to your gods that he's left his Cain and Wyrm sheets back at the Apartment.
