Shijin and Jason vs. Xochitl and the Monster
Posted 15 September 2010 - 11:46 AM
It had been two weeks since the events of SHAW had transpired. Local and national media coverage had begun to tie in the occurrences in Khazan to the many odd incidents that were likewise occurring across the world. War had broken out in Korea, a Raya Sayang cult had committed mass suicide in Arizona, and massive hurricanes killed hundreds in the Gulf, the Shark-Man of Izu Island discovery and many, many more. People were beginning to wonder were these the end-times. Conspiracies were being formed, enemies were being made and lines were being drawn and still one name loitered amongst it all…Raya Sayang. Now, our story leads us to Mexico.
It was here that the up and coming hero Shijin had been called by the forces of the SLJ to investigate a mysterious murderer by the name of Xochitl Cuauhtli. This killer was high priority to the super hero foundation after being suspected in the recent death of a SLJ veteran. The departed had left a journal which was found when his remains washed ashore in the Bahamas. Shijin had read the journal, it was not re-assuring. However, the massive SLJ chaperone that accompanied him was. Although Shijin’s last run in with a criminal super villain had left him and a few other inexperienced members slightly discomfited, the SLJ was bound and determined to turn him into a fighting powerhouse. This time, his chaperone would see to that.
Meanwhile below deck, a group of criminals sit quietly in holding cells. The quarries are victims of extraordinary rendition to Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay: criminals, terrorist suspects and radicals. However, Unbeknownst to the heroes above, they are being transported for what some critics would call torture by proxy. Amongst them is the anti-hero known as Jason Redfield. He sits quietly amongst the “scum of the Earth” he hates. Shifting in his seat, he has been suspected in involvement with the activities of the Raya Sayang. The mere thought repulses him. He cringes to know that his prey, Koji Ito, escaped his grasp and now he has been labeled a terrorist. And so, he waits seething with anger on his chance for redemption.
It had been minutes since Shijin had awoken from his nap; the long trip taking the toll on him at numerous occasions. He peered over at the rocky SLJ escort who was also sleeping soundly. His snores shook the seats. The tranquil peace was ruined quickly however as Shijin noticed something strange on their onboard GPS. “Sir! Sir!” He screamed at his companion. “What boy? What must a man do to get some sleep…” but before he could finish, Shijin had shoved the GPS in his face. “We are way off course sir! We were supposed to stop in Cuba and then head to back to Mexico. We've turned around. We are heading back away from Cuba." The mighty SLJ quickly rises and takes notice of their directional location. Before Shijin is completed, he clears his throat and lunges forward towards the cockpit. “Hey! Hey up there! Where the hell do you think you’re going?” With a simple shrug, the giant breaks the locked door open. A sinister scene unfolds as the giant man notices the pilot is in the co-pilot seat, bloodied and dead. “What tha…!?” Suddenly, the hijacker nose dives the plane towards the Earth. The huge man tumbles backwards towards the rear of the plane. Below deck, armed guards fall over as the restrained criminals brace themselves. “I’ll see you below Sunsucker! The hijacker cackles maniacally as his seat ejects from the plane, launching him into the blue skies above.
Without hesitation, Shijin leaps to his staff. With all his might, he channels the power of the White Tiger – the power of magnetism. Shijin quickly seizes control over the plane and it shudders in defiance. “The controls!” His Sentinel escort shouts. “You can’t handle the plane… direct the controls.” With meager seconds left until the aircraft hits the Earth, Shijin pulls back hard on the staff and heaves it upwards. “Fall!” He screams. “What?” The Sentinel returns. “Fall! It’s fate! The White Tiger corresponds with the season of fall!” He finishes. Perplexed, the Sentinel retorts. “Whatthehellareyoutalkingabout!! Shutupandpull!!”. Glancing forward, the sentinel notices that they are leveling out, but heading directly towards a massive Huastec ruins.
Moments later, Tampico Mexico…
“My god, what was that?” Doctor Odierno’s face turns blank as the power in his hidden facility goes down. Deep beneath an early mesa American Temple, the affluent doctor and philanthropist is seized with fear as his research laboratory is suddenly plunged in total darkness. Emergency lights and underground sirens flair in a euphoric display as guards rush to secure and investigate the disturbance. “Don’t just stand there my dear boy go help out.” He yells to his wolf-man assistant, Robert. Remington speeds from the room without hesitation only to be met with a collapsing wall of debris, which knocks him unconscious. Odierno turning to meet his aid's scream is suddenly met with his greatest fear. He breathes in slowly a putrid scent of sea water and festering carcassess. Before him stands the gigantic monster from the fathoms freed during the chaos from the labs of the good doctor. The beast exhales deeply and the doctor is pummeled with the putrefying smell once again. His last words are never heard or recorded.
The nearly indestructible Sentinel pulls himself from the rubble. Beneath him, Shijin mumbles weakly. “Get up son. You need to look for survivors. No time for dawdling.” Shijin looks up at the Sentinel and smiles. “…those criminals! What if they did survive? Then what?” The Sentinel frowns through his rock like features. “Right.” Shijin says. Rising up and stretching briefly, Shijin heads in the opposite direction of his counter-part. Immediately he notices several of the convicts heading towards a nearby temple. “Hold it!” He calls, freezing several in place. Meanwhile, a more agile criminal leaps over the beam and continues on foot. “I said freez…” His retort is met with an enormous explosion that rocks the area. The escapee immediately finds his getaway blocked by what can only be described as a giant fish…man. Shijin’s eyes go wide as he forces his senses to believe what he is seeing. Without delay, he begins to call for reinforcements until he notices his companion has run into the wilderness in pursuit of other criminals. “Great, he thinks as he notices the bound criminal squaring off against the beast. “The name’s Jason…Jason Redfield and I don’t want to die.” The anti-hero looks down at his handcuffs. Shijin makes a quick decision and freezes the cuffs making them brittle and easily broken. “Thanks.” Jason says as he instantly darts in the other direction. “Nice job Hero.” Shijin thinks as his target makes a getaway. Suddenly, the beast before him rushes towards Shijin, his rows of teeth frothing with hunger. Above them, a jovial Xochitl Cuauhtli plummets from the sky. “I told you I’d see you below Sunsucker!!” The mad man hisses as he cuts himself loose from his ejection seat. “This day just gets better and better.” Shijin whispers to himself as he readies for the incoming attacks. Unknown to him, Jason Redfield rummages through the downed military craft searching for weapons. He hits pay dirt and turns to the ensuing battle. “Let’s play.” He says, rushing to the fray.
Sector: Tampico Mexico, Huastec Temple ruins:
A ruined temple with a crashed plane wedged into it. The temple is surrounded by rain forest and jungle. It is midday, hot and there is nobody around for miles. Every now and then a guard from Dr. Odierno’s force may come out and take a shot at anybody. Likewise, every now and then a surviving guard from Shijin’s military plane may come out and take a shot at you guys every now and then.
1. No quoting. This is a turn based RP, so no need to quote. One person attacks/defends, the next person attacks/defends until someone dies. Simple as that.
2. Limit the OOC. If you have a non-current or current fight related question, go to the RP planning board and ask it. I want this to flow smoothly.
3. No Role playing your opponent. You can state your move, but not your opponent’s reaction.
4. Have fun. I will sometimes tell you what damage (if any) you did to your opponent and I will let you know when one of you drops. If you use a powered attack and want to know the results, it may serve you well to wait on me to tell you.
5. Whoever posts first gets first attack.
6. All Peoples choice voters: You can vote however you want. Whether it's based on how well they play, how well they write, how cool their character is or if you just like them as a person...it's up to you. Just vote.
In Game rules:
1. This is the fight sequence: Shijin, Monster from the Fathoms, Xochitl then Jason. You will fight in that order the entire match. No exceptions!!!
2. You may only attack one person per turn. You can only attack two people if your Main Power has the following add on Effect: Multi Attack.
Jason Redfield: Strength Attacks Xochitl’s and Monster’s Head: Piercing/ Multi Attack
If you succeed on the roll, you will hit them both once. This attack can only be used in this manner if you call the name of the opponent’s you’d like to hit.
2. You can also hit multiple people if your Main Power has the following add on Effect: Area Effect.
Jason Redfield: Strength Attacks Head: Grenade/ Area Effect
This attack will hit everyone without having to name them.
Fight Vote Kill.

Sizing up both the Monster and Xochitl, Shijin looks over to Redfield and back at his enemies. "This is just what I need." Shijin says as he jumps out of the hole that Xochitl came through, "Being stuck in a small room with three guys while I'm on a high protein diet. So why don't I stay out here and one of you two stay in there. Like...little Nemo." The orb on top of Shijin's staff turns blue as he blasts a flurry of hail shots at the Monster's legs trying to slow him down.

The Sea-King ignored the attack from Shijin as it focused on Redfield, growling all the while. It charged toward the armored man and as it got close enough, it struck out at Redfield with its massive jaws, chomping down upon his left collarbone with all his strength.

Xochitl actually stumbled a bit during his fall when he saw the giant shark man tear into Redfield. Such viciousness! Such majesty! It must of been a gift from Tezcatlipoca himself! Cackling, He dashed behind Redfield and slashed at the soldier's lower back with his blade, waiting in anticipation for another spill of blood to add to his lord's resivoir.

Redfield had hit the jackpot with the plane. It hadn't taken much rummaging to find what he was looking for: a military-issue M4A1 carbine with an attached Masterkey shotgun, a Beretta M9 pistol, a bayonet, as well as a ballistic vest with some tactical gear. After he strapped on each of the items, he ran over, only to be immediately set upon by both of the villains.
Jason grunted with pain as the teeth and the knife bit into the ballistic vest. It did its job, more or less. But the attacks still stung.
In an effort to get both of the villains away, Redfield pulled the Beretta M9 from its holster, first putting a round in the shark-man's head at point-blank range, then firing another round behind himself to strike the Aztec.

"REDFIELD!!!" Shijin shouts as he couldn't help but notice the two-on-one assault. Shijin lays down another round of supressing fire, from above, with his staff at the Monster's head. This time, the hails shots are even more stronger and more sharper than before. "Oh hail no, you two are not going to take out my prisoner."

The Sea-King barely felt the gunshot of the bullet as his hide was tough enough to withstand the pressures of the Mariana Trench. It once more ignored the ramblings and pathetic attempts of the cold attacker and focused on Redfield, as he once more tries to take a chomp out of him only this time centered on the arm that wielded the Beretta M9. If it connected, his jaws strength, aided with its sharp teeth, would have the teeth penetrate the arm-guard and pierce his flesh easily.

Xochitl ducked into a roll as Redfield shot at him, the bulllet grazing his neck instead of putting a 2-inch hole in it. "God damn sunsucker!" he hissed. He dashed into the shadows of the surrounding pillars, the darkness seeming to intensify as he entered, almost embracing him

Redfield watched as the 9mm NATO round struck the beast in the head... to little effect.
I'm gonna need a bigger bo-- gun...
"Damn it!" Jason yelled as the teeth sunk into his arm. The arm guard had limited the penetration, but they still made serious holes. Using his free hand, Redfield maneuvered the rifle slung across his chest so that the barrel of the Masterkey shotgun was pressed against the monster's torso. He pulled the trigger at point-blank, allowing him to wrench his arm free of the shark-man.
With barely a moment to collect himself, the Marine spun on his heel, bringing the M4A1 to bear and firing a burst into the shadows that the Aztec had run into.

Shijin couldn't help but realize that these range attacks are not working. As he watches Redfield laying down supressing fire, Shijin twirls his his staff as he tries to give it one more shot at the Monster. "Hey JAWS!!!" Shijin shouts as he lunges downward at the Monster slamming the orb into his chest giving him a deep freeze. "I think it's time you should cool off for a minute."

The Sea-King was getting frustrated by the pathetic attacks of the staff wielder but in his instinct, he knew that Jason Redfield was much more dangerous and needed to be taken down. After that, he would gladly turn his focus to the cold user and destroy him. It threw an open hand, its talon outstretched, at Redfield's upper torso, attempting to impale into the armor. In conjunction with this, it buries its opposing claws into Redfield's shoulder. Both were done in order to get a grip and if it succeeded, it would follow up with a bite to the opposite shoulder.

Xochtil couldn't help but giggle as he saw the sharkman tearing into Redfield. Figuring the heroes had heard him anyways, He used the opening the shark had provided him and dashed out, giggle rising into a cackle, and sent a vicious stab at Redfields knee
Posted 17 September 2010 - 09:20 AM
This wasn't good. A creature that looked like it was something out of a bad sci-fi movie had him in its jaws, attempting to punch through the Kevlar of his vest, while the Aztec was coming in with the knife to take out his knee.
Not good at all.
Every creature -- no matter how formidable -- has a weakness, Jace.
With pain flushing through his body, Redfield pulled the knife from its sheath and sunk it deep into the Shark's gills, wriggling and twisting the blade for maximum effect. Capitalizing, he wrenched himself from the shark's grip and fell to the ground, the Aztec standing over him.
He rolled away from the shark and stood. Knees bent, blade out and at the ready -- time to put all of that knife fighting training to good use.
"Nice pig-sticker you got there. But do you know how to use it?" With that, Jason lunged forward, aiming a stab at the man's neck. It was time to put all of his knife fighting training to the test.

Shijin continues to hammer down the Monster with a barrage of dry ice jabs from his staff. As he continues the assualt, Shijin starts to see ice starting to form around the Monster's legs. He realizes now that it's finally paying off as the Monster is starting to slow down.

The Sea-King realized the armored man was proving to be a powerful foe, even so more than the werewolf he had fought earlier. This he despised. He rather to enage in an feral, animalistic fight like with the werewolf but this man was proving to be difficult, with his use of weaponry and knives. This was new to the Sea-King, just like the lab, the man in the labcoat, the surroundings, the burning aircraft.
As the armored man broke away, the Sea-King, by instinct, swung his long behemoth tail at the legs of his fleeing foe, attempting to sweep out under him and lay him out upon the ground, effectively leaving him open to his supposed ally.

Xochitl almost fell over laughing when Redfield pulled the knife, but found himself suddenly on the defensive as he attempted to parry a stab to the face. The trained soldier and the possessed man began a vicious series of parries and jabs, but the great sharkman interrupted with a sweeping blow to Redfields leg. Xochitl acrobatically jumped back an tried to throw his blade into Redfields heart, the blade curving in midair to follow Redfields attempts to dodge

In the military, they attempted, sometimes unsuccessfully, to convince their recruits to trust in their equipment. With Redfield on the ground, the blade curving to follow his roll like some kind of guided missile, he considered this.
He could try to let the brunt of the knife go to the armor, or just let fate run its course as he tried to put a few more rounds downrange. With his adrenaline pumping, he chose the latter.
His roll came to a stop as he drew the Beretta again, laying on his back and first aiming it to his left to fire three rounds at the monster's head -- in particular the eyes. Then, in the seconds before the knife struck, he aimed forward and fired at the Aztec's jugular. The pistol bucked lightly in his hands as he hoped like hell that the knife ended up hitting his SAPI plate...

"Oh sh*t!" The Shijin shouts as he noticed Redfield pulling out his beretta to take aim. He moves right behind the Monster and uses him as a human...er, selachimorpha shield as Redfield lays down a supressive fire. Shijin decides cripple the giant, from behind, as he double taps the back of the Monster's knees with his deep freeze attack. "Perhaps you should...uh. Dammit, I'm all out of ice puns! I wonder how Schwarzenegger does it in Batman & Robin?"
