.... Yeah but Kratos killed Zeus....

The way I see it, if it were the true mythological gods, Kratos would've been reduced to ash easily.... the videogame version are versions that toned down the power of the gods.

Thor? Not toned down if he's directly from the Norse legend.

No, these gods are more battle tempered than the Greek Gods.

Baldr is unkillable according to their legends, and can (and was) only killed by mistletoe, which was the only being on Earth (Or Midgard) that didn't pledge to never harm Baldr.

So Kratos can go around doing anything he damn well pleases, but he'll never be able to harm him at all.

Othin's spear, Gungnir, also never misses it's target, so Kratos isn't going to be running around dodging anything throw by him.

Yeah, but if this was a Game then there would be an Item that old Krat there could pick up and use as a Weapon that would... you guessed it, be made of Mistletoe!

And then Krat would get some shitty powerup and go on to try and stomp yet another god...

This idea should actually be the theme for the next Kratos games. With the absence of the Greek gods, the gods of the other cultures lay claim to more territory and Kratos has to take them down. It would be:

Kratos vs. Norse Gods
Kratos vs. Egyptian Gods
Kratos vs. South American Gods

You get the picture. Lot's of potential there for cool environments and ideas.

If this was a game are the keywords.

I don't treat set ups as games. Otherwise, I could say that Kratos' isn't really all that badass, since he depends solely on the difficulty the game is set at and the player skill.
