"Who's the best?" is a totally subjective question that entirely depends on individual taste...

Among my favs are(in no particular order):

Eminem
Royce da 5'9"
Pharoahe Monch
Mos Def
Talib Kwali
Busta Rhymes
The Roots
Oukast
Snoop Dogg
The Game
Xzibit
Rakim
Redman
Ludacris
Twista
Joell Ortiz
Crooked I
Bishop Lamont
Black Milk
RZA
GZA
Inspectah Deck
Method Man
2Pac(R.I.P.)
Proof(R.I.P.)

Well... that's all I can think of and all I care to mention at the moment.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Dre. The Chronic is just a fantastic album, 2001 was great, and I'm eagerly awaiting Detox.

Nappy Roots are great. Highly recommend them.

Three 6 Mafia are always good.

Just listing a few rappers/groups that I didn't see anyone else recommend.

The thing about rappers is that they mostsly come from a tough life. Then when they first become rappers and they are new they rap about there hard life. Then as they get paid more and more money they forget about there hard life and rap about other stuff like girls, money, etc.

examples are 50cent,Snoop Dogg,etc.

When rappers are famous but not heard of that much they sound more better then there more famouse and heard of counterparts. Example:Mobb Deep,Wu-tang clan,Method man, etc. Most of them come from NYC.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Dre.

Dre is one of my all time fav's. Only reason I didn't mention him is that he isn't that great a rapper. He's an exeptional producer and has an ear for new talent, but, most of his lyrical are written for him. That's why his albums are so full of feature. Many songs he doesn't even have lyrics on, so his albums are really, more or less compilations.
