*EDIT: Apologies, I should have included that my post contains spoilers about Fullmetel Alchemist. I'm sorry if anyone read my post prior to watching the show.

I've been watching Fullmetal Alchemist and I love it. There are an insane amount of characters that intrigue me for them all to belong to just one show. Anyway, the point I was going to make is this: When Maes Hughes died, I hadn't been that sad at any form of media since I first watched Leon when I was 12. He was my favourite character. Did anyone else feel that sad?

Anyway, it is safe to say I'm going to be solely watching anime for a good while.

Godspeed, I'm right there with ya. Netflix has all of the FMA episodes, and I'm currently enthralled by it. Not sure how well Netflix's anime selection is, but I would recommend Death Note to you Godspeed. I personally liked it, although Landon probably disagrees.

I really like Death Note, I was actually amazed to see so much hatred for the show online. I can't wait until Netflix comes to the U.K, it seems like there is a ton of excellent shows on there that I could be watching on my television. Have you seen any other anime recently that you would recommend?

Yeah, I agree. Death Note was a pretty good anime in my experience (which isn't much), and I too am surprised by the hate. Perhaps it's just one of those anti-mainstream attitudes that's so popular right now. Anyways, I hear good things about Darker than Black. Other than that, I don't have any other anime recommendations. I'm just starting too.

Also, a shame that Netflix hasn't crossed the pond yet.

Death Note... The manga was better than the anime, not to say that the anime was bad.

In terms of manga, the same guys who created Death Note have been putting out a series called Bakuman, which I've been loving (my current avatar is a scan from it).

Yeah it's really sad when Hughes dies but what really made me sad was the little girl who was turned into the Chimera dog thing. That freaked me out and made me so sad.

Yes, well. Landon is a decade apart from me and God-Speed. That could explain why he isn't into some of the things we are. And yes, Hughes' death was sad. I recommend Black Cat. One of my favorite short series. I think it's highly overlooked.

To those whom it may concern, I just find out that one of the big old-school anime labels is making a comeback in print. Coming as of September 13th, Naoko Takeuchi's Bishoujou Senshi Sailor Moon is being re-printed and re-released in bookstores very soon!

I'm not a fan of the anime either, and I'm only 19 (I enjoy the manga though). More to do with personal taste than age, I think.

Yeah. I didn't like Death Note that much in either version. I'm just saying most of the ones people in my age group like, are the ones Landon doesn't. And age gap could be part of the reason why that is. Or it could just be because he's seen them all, and maybe the popular ones really aren't that good. *Shrugs*

Yes FMA was a very powerful, emotional driven anime. Matter of opinion, FMA is the best written anime that I have seen. They had episodes that really tugged at your heart. I haven't gotten around to watching Brotherhood though.

http://mechaguignol....-of-all-time/7/ Number 18 on Landon's list so I'm sure he'd tell you to watch it. I thought it was pretty good too. The word "free" alone would have me watching it. I wouldn't get rid of it before seeing if I liked it if it was free.
