Ow come on SSJ3 Goku. It is true that the odin force with thor is powerful, but come on he beat a lot of powerful people like baby, buu, ginyu, dabura, frieza, even vegetal. A whole lot more to that list. I wouldn't say I would be an easy match, odin force thor would put up a fight, but SSJ3 goku would just come out as the victor.
The stupidity.
It hurts.

Easily mistaken as stupidity.

If this was Odinforce Thor or Rune King Thor - there wouldn't have been a debate, just the obvious one liner posts regarding the victor. This has been about Current/Classic Thor versus Goku, hence the long posts in the debate thus far. Thinking - try it.

Its still not enough.
SS3 Goku isn't as strong, as fast, or as durable. Look at the feats provided for Thor, that is Thor without Rune King or Odinforce, and compare them to Goku's.
Then compare his powers.
Seriously, its a no brainer here.

Im not downplaying Thor at all. Its just that it would not be an easy match for either side to win.
Its much more than a no brainer.

That's due to Goku's Ki, not his physical durability, not the one and same. For instance, when he wasn't powered up, Krilling hurts Goku with a simple pebble. Thor has taken a Supernova which is pretty much beyond the scale of anything the Z-Fighters have taken. I'm not sure but a Supernova is capable of wrecking a Galaxy I think.
Lifting a plane is miniscule to the feats Thor has displayed. If you actually read through this thread (Which you clearly haven't because others have made the same claims as you, and others have disproved them.) You'd see examples of Thor lifting the MIdgard Serpent off Planet Earth through sheer strength. The Snake is large enough to wrap itself around Earth. Another instance is from the sheer force of his blows, he has shattered a planetoid, which is frankly a lot more devastating in terms of strength level in comparison to a simple energy beam.
No, Goku's reflexes aren't instaneous. Yes, his IT is instant and allows him to teleport anywhere but that does not automatically remove the fact that he doesn't have the sufficient reflexes to be able to engage in a free for all with a let loose Thor. Thor's hammer transcends space and time, so even if Goku pulls off an IT, the Hammer's still fast enough to hit him. Not to mention, Thor is capable of FTL combat...
Yes, because Goku overpowers them through strength and ki level, not skill. This is a regular trend in DBZ, not a matter of skill. Though there is skill mind you, it just doesn't compare to Thor's skill. Even his experience is insignificant in comparision to Thor's thousands of years of experience. Simple, basic logic.
So yes, you are downplaying Thor. Its apparently the opposite of a no brainer for one like you - which seems to be a reoccurring trait in most DBZ fanboys when they can't provide feats or proofs to back up their statements other than speculations or insignificant instances in comparison to their opponent...
Them's the facts, mates - Thor is superior to Goku.

Goku does have the power to contend, i.e. his energy blasts. Beyond that, not so much. His durability, speed, and strength pales in comparison to Superman. The power aspect goes to the likes of Thor. Gladiator? Not at all - not even a challenge if Gladiator is sufficiently motivated.
And I get condescending when I have to repeat the same thing several times. Now go and do the comparison for yourself: Thor withstanding a Supernova compared to Goku withstanding Planet Busting Attacks. Thor is easily capable of destroying planets with relative ease. In fact - I'll give you an instance where all for all your speculation, its moot - even if they were capable of destroying a Galaxy (Which mind you, they aren't due to lack of substantial evidence) Thor has contained an explosion within a barrier that would have destroyed 1/5th of the Marvel Universe. Being that Marvel's universe is akin to ours unlike DBZ (They've only got like 16 Galaxies or so?), Thor contained an explosion that would have destroyed millions upon millions of Galaxies, so he's got two ways of withstanding those kinds of attacks himself.
Seriously, its not that difficult. Do some research and you'll come to the same conclusion.

Goku would have some great attacks and him and Thor would duke it out with Goku getting tired. Goku at Ssj3 would have more than enough power to battle him and then it would end with Goku losing by not being able to walk lol.

Not at all - Thor would either absorb or negate Goku's attacks - SS3 Goku would defeat himself quickly.
Though it'd be a great battle yes, it'd be kinda one sided greatly.

I also hear the argument "Well if everyone was throwing around planet busters and flying at light speed it'd be too short. One or two panels and then it's over, and that's not entertaining."
Well... why couldn't it be? The Culture novels feature ships fighting at faster than light speed with engines that destroy planets if the ships break too hard, Xeelee Sequence novels have ships flying around that could easily one shot planets with guns the size of pistols. *vulgarity*, comics have heroes flying around destroying planets with single punches. Yet, for some reason, we say "Well, the Z Fighters have to hold back otherwise it's boring." I'd like to DBZ remade so that when Vegeta and Goku are shooting those beams at each other during their first fight the ground melts around them and forests incinerate based on the ambient heat, or people's eardrums pop and windows shatter for miles around as the Z Fighters fly past them at hypersonic speeds. Hell sonic booms everytime they throw a punch would be sweet!
Or when Vegeta goes crazy at that World Tournament thing in the Buu story arc and he fires energy blasts into the audience the people on the other side of the stadium get pulverized by the shockwave.
