This is part of an arc. The last chapter is at Batman and Green Goblin vs. Amanda.

Here is the wrap up for Angela vs. Morbius.

After learning that her mother, Demona, was behind the abduction of Elisa Maza, Angela decided to spend some time alone cruising over the streets of Gotham City. She spots Morbius. Preying on a mugger and swoops down to intercede.

"You may have deprived me of one meal, demon, but you will do as well?" Morbius sprang at Angela, fangs bared. With a bestial growl she swatted him away with a back-handed blow.

"You are strong, monster," he said, "but my thirst is great and gives me the strength of a score of men!"

He sprang agan, this time catching Angela's wrist and slamming her into the wall. She struggles as he pressed his fangs closer to her throat. Angela growled and her tail came up, wrapping around Morbius' neck and pulling him off of her.

"And you call me a monster?" She lashed out, her talons tearing his costume and raking his chest. Morbius sprang back with amazing lightness. Angela leaped after him but he dodged her.

"What else but a demon sent to drag me to hell?" he said.

He lunged at her again but she caught him, raised him over head and smashed him to the sidewalk. As he lay there she planted a taloned foot on his chest.

"You're deluded," she said. "Stay down. Don't force me to hurt you any longer."

"I won't struggle," Morbius said and his eyes blazed like lanterns. It captured Angela's attention, she felt her muscles go slack and tried to look away but she couldn't. The vampire slipped out from under her foot and rose. Angela tried to make her body respond but the burning gaze was too much. It was all she could do to open her mouth.

"You… monster." She whispered.

Morbius froze, a look of guilt on his face. The light in his eyes dimmed and he took a step back. That was all it took. Abgels smashed him back with a powerful blow. There was a parking meter close by and she snalled it loose with a powerful heave then held it over him with the jagged end poised over Morbius' chest.

"It's for the best," he said. "I can't go on living through the death of others. I am a monster and I'm glad it ends now."

Angela stared at him for a second, then dropped the metal weapon.

"No," she said. "Whatever you are, I won't kill you in cold blood. Come with me; I have some friends who may be able to help.

The plane was met by a black SUV at the private airfield. Ubu stepped out first and Christopher Chance--disguised as the Bronze Tiger--followed. They climbed in silently and the driver, an Asian man who moved like a trained fighter, got under way.

"How did your mission go?" the driver asked.

"No better than yours, Steel Serpent," Ubu said. "We have lost Cheshire, Lady Shiva and Razor Fist and Scimitar and have nothing to show for it."

"You talk like an old woman, Ubu," the Steel Serpent said. "Perhaps you are a failure but Merlyn, Tiger and I are more than anough to kill all the Mistress' foes."

Ubu growled but fell silent and Chance wondered what he'd gotten himself involved in. he didn't recognize all the names but those he did were among the world's deadliest assassins. This was going to be his biggest case ever… he only hoped it wouldn't be his last.

"Tell me again how we got this assignment?" Colleen Wing, in a white bikini, sat on a towel on the white sands of Larvotto Beach.

"Just lucky, I guess," Misty Knight said. She stood and cast an eye on the red-haired woman basking some distance away.

"D'you think anyone's actually going to try to hurt her?" Colleen asked.

"Kidnap, more like," Misty said. "Her husband's got to be one of the ten richest guys on the planet. I don't think it's too likely, but I can understand him being protective and all. I mean, she's starting to get a little baby bump."

Colleen stretched. "Overprotective is fine with me. I like getting paid to do nothing in Monaco. Do you suppose she'll hit the casinos tonight?"

"Christmas," Luke Cage said as Hudson spread a salve on his wounds, "How many of you dudes are there?"

"Gargoyles?" Hudson said. "Once there were thousands of us and we lived side by side with humans in peace. Now… hardly any of us are left."

"So, what happened?"

"The humans," Lexington said. "They were afraid of us."

"Aye," Hudson said. "'Tis a sad story, and we might never have trusted humans again but for a new friend we found here in Manhattan."

"She found this place to stay when we had to leave our castle."

"No offense," Cage said, "but your friend set you up right on top of a police precinct house. Are you sure he doesn't want you to get caught."

"Hey!" Lexington said. "You don't even know her!"

"Okay," Cage said, raising his hands. "I didn't mean nothing. Look, I'm just glad you're willing to let me crash here while I'm getting better."

"Mercy!" Luthor shouted.

"It wasn't my fault," Mercy Graves said. "He was too much for me, but when I catch up to him--"

"You'll what?" Luthor said. "You'll beat him with your crutch? That's all you'll be able to do because you're not going to be using my battle armor any longer."

"You could have called for the rest of the team," Luthor continued. "And you weren't good enough to handle this 'Octopus' on your own."

"You're firing me?"

"I have no use for incompetents in my employ," Lex said. "Tsukuri will show you out."

Both women were silent during the long elevator ride down. Tsukuri walked Mercy through the lobby to the front door where a cab was waiting.

"Any destination you want," Tsukuri said. "Mr. Luthor's paying."

"He's a prince," Mercy said.

She climbed into the cab and told the driver to head to the Metropolis airport. As they pulled away from Luthor's skyscraper headquarters she took out a business card she had held on to for some reason. The front said "XANATOS ENTERPRISES" and a private phone number was scribbled on the back.

"Mutants?" Vincent said.

"Yes," Callisto replied. "People like me… like you, Vincent. People who have special powers. Caliban is one and his gift is to find others like us."

"Vincent is not a mutant," Father said.

"You think he's a typical homo-sapien?" Calisto asked sarcastically.

"Vincent's… condition is the result of genetic tampering," Father said. "At least that's my best theory."

"So someone made him a mutant," Callisto said. "Big difference."

"Please," the lion-man said. "I am what I am, and I feel a kinship to both the humans here and to any who are different."

"Which makes my point," Callisto said. "There are mutants up above who don't fit--who will never fit. Caliban can find them and we can give them sanctuary here."

Father shook his head emphatically. "We are at the limit of the people we can care for already," he said.

"There's enough space--"

"That's not the point. We don't have enough food and other essentials."

"Then we take what we need!" Callisto snapped. "It's not like we owe the humans in the city anything.

Father was about to answer, angrily when Vincent shushed him. There was a frantic tapping on the pipes as one of the sentries reported something.

"An intruder," Vincent said. "I should see what this is."

"I'm coming with you," Callisto said.

Kirk Langstrom soared over Metropolis and tried to plan his next move. He'd managed to modify the Man-Bat serum enough that he had a semblance of human reason, but thinking was still difficult for him. He had to get somewhere safe, but he didn't know where in this strange city that could be. Until he could figure that out, the most important thing was to watch out for any of the genetic freaks that the woman Destine was creating in the Zoo. She was bound to send one of them after him.

Something crossed the periphery of his senses, a red and blue figure swinging on a slender strand--a human spider. He realized that this must be one of Destine's agents, come to recapture him and a flame of anger welled up in his chest. Whoever this freak was, it wasn't going to take him, he'd kill it first. With an angry shriek, he swooped to the attack.

Man-Bat is the version from Batman: The Animated Series.

Well, let me be the first to say this: congrats on making Rank 1, Dinsdale! :)

Also, another great set-up all around here. Good match-up as well. Spectacular's Spidey beats Man-Bat eventually, but not without some bumps and bruises (especially from the onset due to being ambushed).

Yep, congrats on earning Rank 1.  :D

Spidey takes this but not easily.  Like Batman, he will have scars but will come out on top.
