Deathstroke in the Outworld

Before a throng of followers, spectators and the challengers of the next Mortal Kombat tournament, Shang Tsung officiates the preceding.  “In the coming days, each of you will fight.  Some of you by your own volition, others here by chance…”  With that, a portal opens and Slade steps through an ornately carved mirror.  His presence is noted immediately.  “It would seem we have a new addition to the tournament.” Shang Tsung continues, "Welcome to Outworld human.  Please take your place in the line-up."  Slade stops abruptly and takes in the strange surroundings.  “Tournament?”  He says quietly.  Meanwhile, Shang Tsung continues, “This year you participate in the most important Mortal Kombat in history.  This tournament, the tenth after nine Outworld victories, will determine Earthrealm’s fate.

If you defeat all your opponents, you will face one final challenge…me.”

In the crowd, Johnny Cage whispers to Sonya Blade, “That old geezer’s the final challenge?  They might as well give me the belt right now.  They do have belts right…?”  Before he can finish, he jumps back startled as Shang Tsung is no longer at the podium above the crowd, but standing right before him, “Appearances can be deceiving.” He says spitefully and floats casually back to the podium to continue addressing the crowd.

“Our first combatant will be Mr. Johnny Cage.”  Johnny steps into a ring ahead of the crowd.  “That’s right, that’s right.  Which one of you chumps is first?”

Shang Tsung looks to the stranger who interrupted the preceding.  Deathstroke looks back keenly.  “What is your name stranger?  And what brings you here to our Outworld tournament?”  I am known as Deathstroke the Terminator.”  Shang Tsung eyes him suspiciously, "You are most heavily armed, Mr. Terminator." He hangs the word terminator in the air for a long period of time.  "Do you have plans on using those arms to disrupt our preceding?  I assure you that would not go well.  Deathstroke scans the territory and eyes the legions of Mortal Kombat warriors.  “I am looking for someone.”   He pulls out the paper wrapped around his portion of the shard.  The name on the paper reads: Raiden.  He begins to mouth the name, but hesitates as he doesn’t know what saying that name will entail.  “Well then, Mr. Terminator…  I can smell the stench of Earthrealm on you.  This is the Mortal Kombat tournament.  Here, the combatants fight for the preservation of their realms.  I can also smell the stench of death upon you.  You are a warrior and I don’t believe your intentions.  Perhaps you would like to join us in a little sport?  If you are successful, perhaps I can be of assistance in helping you locate whoever it is you are looking for.”

“I don’t have time for this.  I am not a part of your games…”  Shang Tsung ignores him as several soldiers quickly sling pikes at this neck.

Shang Tsung continues undaunted, “Very well then, the next challenger… Deathstroke the Terminator.”

Cage steps up and points at Deathstroke, “It’s ShowTime.”  Quickly, Deathstroke pulls his swords, disarms and shoots the soldiers; he then turns his gun on Johnny Cage.  "You think I can't handle a gun?" Cage says mockingly.  However, Deathstroke's attack is quickly stopped as a spark of fiery ember flies past his head.  “Enough!”  Shang Tsung yells.  “So, you’d like to disrupt our preceding?  Very well then, this will be a three-way battle.  You will fight Sub-Zero of the Lin Kuei assassins and Johnny Cage.”  From where he is standing, Sub-Zero freezes himself and falls backwards.  The frozen encasement shatters upon the floor.  Deathstroke looks on confused as suddenly, a frozen statue appears beside him.  Sub-Zero bursts from it poised to fight.  Johnny Cage readies himself.

Shang Tsung smiles “FIGHT!”

(The fight is every man for himself.  Deadline is Sunday)

Nyet!  The Mortal Kombat warriors have overrun Earthrealm and all its guns before.  They are a bit tougher than that.  There is a Mortal Kombat warrior by the name of Stryker who shoots these guys all the time.  Nyet.  Plus, Sub-Zero teleports and creates thick ice shields very quickly.  Nyet nyet.  Waste time shooting a gun and get an ice saber in your back for the effort.

Plus, if he shoots one, the other will attack him.  These guys aren't slouches.  They are the best fighters in their worlds.

More Nyet.  Deathstoked might want to preserve those bullets for greater threats down the road.  He's already shot a few soldiers.  But, who knows.  He's usually well stocked.

Here is an example of Mortal Kombat world overrunning Earthrealm tanks, guns and all.  There is a scene where Stryker is trying to shoot Reptile who is effortlessly bullet-timing and melting incoming bullets with his acidic mist.  This is Reptile who is typically not considered a major player in Mortal Kombat.  Nyet.  Mortal Kombat is on a whole nother level.

Sub-Zero's teleporting ability is pretty moot considering that almost every non-Earthrealm character can teleport too. Johnny Cage also has a bunch of ridiculous moves, like in his starter fatality, where he somehow rips a dude in half with minimal effort and punches their head clean off for good measure. This will not be easy for Deathstroke.

DeathStroke has fought guys much tougher then both of them, not to mention its a free for all so its not necessarily just DeathStroke fighting two guys at once. For all we know Cage and Sub-Zero could end up fighting each other.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a stomp for him, it seems like recently in his comics he's on the brink of losing every fight but perseveres in the end just like he will in this one.

I guess Deathstroke can win. Guns appear in MK fighting, Jax had a special move in Armageddon where he blasts the other guy with a machine gun. And while they get nerfed a tad, its basically like any other projectile attack.

Edit: Nth armor can absorb blows from Lobo, so I think that gives him the edge. This is comics deathstroke and not DC vs Mortal Kombat deathstroke so that wins it for me.

New 52 Deathstroke is fast and strong enough to rip Johnny Cage apart with ease. Slade is highly skilled to the point Cage's huge ego would get him killed quickly. Subzero is the main problem. Subzero has so many creative ways to catch you with his freezing ability it's not even funny. Also besides being highly trained and one of the Lin Kuei's best his teleporting is another headache. It will be a long battle but in the end Slade outsmarts Subzero for the win.

This is a three-way free for all.  Those poor 2D guys are in way over their heads.  They're not used to fighting two people from different sides.

Sorry it took so long to respond.  In police academy until 5pm.

Slade's armor easily allows him to handle any physical impacts from both opponents.  Like baller said, Cage's ego will be his down fall and Slade could easily play on that.  Physically he can match and surpass any of the human competitors.  Add in Slade's superior intellect and aim and each and every strike could be potentially deadly.  All in all, I see Slade beating cage in any scenario.

As far as Sub Zero, he is more of a challenge.  His ice attacks would provide trouble but his Nth armor would protect him physically from the attack.  Although it would render him immobile.  Then again, with his instantaneous reflexes, he should be able to react and dodge any ice attacks.  Also add in sub zero's predictable teleporting and Slade would have a sword waiting for him when he appeared.  All in all Slade has strength, intellect, durability, aim, and reflexes.  Sub Zero has speed (due to teleporting) and possibly experience (debatable)

I've never gotten the whole instantaneous reflexes thing. Where was this stated? 'Cause I've seen Slade get taken down by Joker with a pen knife.

Well old Slade tagged Flash multiple times.

Current Slade shoots and cuts multiple peoples heads off in one blur of motion in a single panel.  Forgot which issue but I think it involved a bar, highway, or prison

There's no doubt his reflexes are extremely impressive. I just dunno about instantaneous.

I can agree with that.  It just says that according to DC

Edit:  Actually it used to be stated like that.  Now it just says enhanced reflexes.

Oh wait I just remembered, this is Bi-han (aka Noob Saibot) we're talking about. I think he definitely takes this then, given that he's more experienced than his bro.

Bi Han may be more experienced but I guess he wasn't more skilled then his younger brother since Scorpion killed him. I always thought his brother was more skilled.

But in this scenario, Kuai Liang is still just Tundra. He hasn't assumed the Sub-Zero mantle yet.
