MUGEN has been around since early 2000, man!

I mean I used to play MUGEN and it's pretty awesome! However.. it doesn't work on newer systems like Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 too well.

MUGEN if not formatted correctly, has a tendency of crashing your computer and scattering files inside it's directory in bits and pieces to nigh everywhere.

I know this because it was supposedly to work best on Windows XP. And the exact same scenario I described happened to me. It gets worse for the newer systems depending on how you handle it and luck I suppose.

On topic: Slug Wanzer (Metal Slug + Front Mission combo, fantastic design), Yoko Littner, Predator Warrior are pretty much the most developed characters I've come across that work great in MUGEN. Pred Warrior's a port while the other two were made iirc.

I'd be happy if someone could share some others, I can dig for a thread I made on another site. Kinda noobish and old, i.e. shoddy English, but it's informative though links may be broken. Ask and I'll find it.

Dragon Claw is badass for an original character.

While most MUGEN projects look really badly made, there are a few that completely blew away my expectations. Card Saga Wars looks spectacular, which matching sprites, awesome stages and even more awesome super moves that actually make it look and feel like an original fighting game. I think CSW may have started a recent 'MUGEN boom' as I like to call it, as more and more devoted fans are making really cool looking MUGEN projects like Tekken vs Soul Calibur. I like how he's made old Heihachi and the younger TTT2 version of Heihachi separate characters. Both sprites look epic!
