I'm surprised the Twilight ponce hasn't been mentioned. Edward Cullen single-handedly disses years of Vampire lore and creates a godmodder that would be bitch-slapped a thousand ways from next Tuesday if it were made here.

Twilight series, as a whole, has bastardized the total history of vampires and werewolves. I remember being irriatated with Van Helsing, when it hit the theatres. But, it didn't slap the genre in the face half as hard as what Stephanie Meyers has done.
Vampires that can't be staked, show up in mirrors, and can even go out in sunlight. They just sparkle, like something from Liberace's closet. The wolves are bearable, easlily angered and change form because of it. But, they're not really werewolves. Instead they're indians who get the ability only when vampires are in the region?! Crap!!
And people love this crap. Why?!? The Bella and Edward are about as interesting as drying paint. Jacob is so freaking mopey, it makes you wonder where his black lipstick and eyeliner are hidden at.
