Spiderman hurt Hulk by hitting him as hard as he can.

So the scan is showing a knockout punch?

I'm defintitely going with Spiderman on this one. Sure most match ups with Spiderman vs. the Fantastic Four are just fun and games, it still shows how tallented Spiderman is. For a simple test go outside and find 4 people to play basketball against. Give each player different advantages (i.e. One a great shot, one great at dunks, one great rebounder, and one quick person), and see what happens even if they hold back a little. When faced with multiple opponents spidey does well. (Sinister Six, Fantastic 4, X-men, etc) His webbing has been said early on that if made his webs slightly thicker it could hold the thing for life. The only problem that I could forsee happening is if Spidey gets a little too careless and overconfident.

Ah so it was Juggernaut! Knew it was one of the really strong, dumb types.

No, but it's showing a portion of the fight in which Spiderman beat Hulk so bad he felt sorry for him afterwards.

Wow! If Spidey can beat Hulk by punching him, he must be stronger than Juggernaut or Thor!

I don't even recognize Spiderman in the comics any more :(

And that was the second time. He's beaten Hulk multiple times. I wonder if he's ever fought Thor...

EDIT: Spider-Man's pretty cocky. Looks like he thinks he can take the Surfer, Warlock, Wonder Man...

Spiderman is not stronger than Juggernaut or Thor...Not even close. If your post was sarcasm then I take it back.

But he beats the Thing easily.

Holy shit... He was capable of fighting seriously with Thor for multiple pages! He does a speed blitz against him, and he even starts wearing Thor down at the end of it!

A little sarcasm, but I'm honestly baffled by the ways they've changed him. When i was reading Spiderman regularly, he was really strong, as in he could life a car over his head. The writers would often forget that he was this strong and treat him as if he was a peak human character but when they remembered he had roughly the proportionate strength of a spider. I've never seen any strength studies on spiders, but you regularly find references to ants carrying 35-50 times their own weight. taking Pete's 165 lb listed weight, that's somewhere in the 3-5 ton range and it made sense that mildly superhuman characters like Kingpin, Ox, and Man Mountain Marko could give him a hard time.

Occasionally a writer would remember that he was supposed to be super strong and would have him do something over the top, like the infamous Firelord beatdown, or the time he lifted a train car (roughly 30 tons) to beat some ninjas. That's the first I remember of the I'm-always-holding-back.

I guess it became editorial policy to show Spidey I always thought those incidents were just sloppy writing because they didn't fit with the usual use of his powers. When Marvel handbook came out I was shocked to see that he supposedly lift 10 tons, because this simply hadn't been the case up to that point. I thought they had picked a number out of thin air, but the writers took it seriously; more than that, they started having him do things that show that he's in no way limited to a wimpy 10 tons. He throws tanks (a modern main battle tank weighs in at more than 50 tons), he holds up the damaged Daily Bugle building (even if he's only lifting a small fraction of the weight, that's hundreds of tons) and now he punches out the Hulk.

I don't like or agree with these things, but apparently they're official for Marvel these days. As nearly as I can tell from all this and the opinions here, the current Spiderman is obviously much stronger than the Thing as well as being much faster and more agile. Am I wrong?

Current Spiderman is just strong enough to hurt the Thing, but he isn't anywhere as strong as the Thing.

And Spiderman should only be able to lift 9-10 tons, with much effort, IMO.

Actually Spidey is 25-30 tons at best by Marvel. That is still good strength, but Thor and Juggernaut are waaaaay above 100 tons...That was what I was trying to point out. And I bet Thor was obviosuly holding back against Spiderman since he states he holds back against mortals and Spidey is a mortal.

And I don't think you're wrong. Spiderman has better strength feats than The Thing IMO..

I mean, it's not like he just punches out Hulk. He punches him over and over. One punch at maximum strength is like a pebble. But if you throw pebbles, and pebbles, and pebbles, and pebbles, at someone, eventually they will get hurt. Or at least, that's the reasoning behind the Hulk and Thor fights, although the Thor fight is kind of ridiculous because Thor has slightly FTL reflexes. I mean, Spidey's hella fast, sure, but light speed? Maybe it's the Spidey Sense.

Hulk barley does good against characters who are very agile like Wolverine. But if you try to completely brawl one on one with him and your under 100 tons than you would get smashed. A good example would be the Thing

when has spidey ever trade blows with thanos and beat down namor and blackbolt i must have missed those ben could hold up the db building one handed.
the thing is on par with namor in strength maybe a little stronger and to say ben is not over the 30 ton range is crazy he has lifted monuments waying hundreds of tons.
