Previously: The Masters of the Universe were sent through a stargate to battle a great evil. They were ambushed by the Scorpion King and his army. Now the individual battles take place…

Defeat at the hands of the Power Rangers left a bitter flavor in his emotions.

Lothor was so close to winning and then the color coded youngsters got lucky.

Now he had to rebuild. For that he would need someone to back him. The death god Set approached the intergalactic ninja and offered him a place in his army. Set made it clear that Mathyus the Scorpion King would be over all general but assured Lothor that he would have plenty of power of his own.

Seeing an opportunity, Lothor accepted and began training warriors he felt strong enough to stand out from the rank and file. The Scorpion King could have the numbers. Lothor would have quality fighters.

Perhaps one day, Lothor would find himself in conflict with Mathyus. Set didn’t seem the type to overly care about those that served him so long as they got results.

As Set’s forces mounted, a particular enemy concerned him. The Masters of the Universe. Lothor had never heard of them and was insulted by their title. When the call went out destroy them, Lothor volunteered himself for the mission, just to see these so called Masters. To see that the Scorpion King, too was participating spoke to the power of these Universe Masters.

When they emerged from the stargate, Lothor scoffed. But he had learned a lesson from the Power Rangers. Looks were never enough to judge an individual. Only by engaging them could Lothor understand their deserving of such a title.

The regular troops, to no surprise, were outmatched. When the more powerful warriors came in, Lothor added himself to the fray. Beside him, a bearded man with an incredibly large metal hand was pounding the ground, sending everyone around him into an uncoordinated stagger.

He seemed like just the sort of man to make an example of. As Lothor moved in, another Master intercepted him. The shot from a blaster caused Lothor to alter his course and run toward a warrior who’s head was encased in a strange helmet. The face inside the helmet was robotic, but then then it shifted like a deck of cards into a man’s face.

Intrigued, Lothor sized him up and allowed his attacker to make the next move. Man-E-Faces stayed with his human visage and closed the gap between them. No need to bring out his more powerful faces until he needed to.

Hmm... First match of the new year. :) There's been a good amount of shorter set-ups in this particular "saga" of your arc, leroy.

As for this match, I think Lothor wins. Man-E-Faces might be stronger in his Monster form and more logical in his Robot form (if this is him from the 2002 series, that is), but it looks like Lothor's more powerful overall.
