[Marvel Man]

Super Mario World: Gotham Edition

It was a regular day in Gotham, and Princess Peach and Mario were enjoying one of their few days away from the Toadstool Kingdom. While Peach certainly loved ruling her kingdom, it did get rather lonely being the only two humans in their world. That's why, on rare occasions, Mario took her out to explore the human filled world. This was one such special day. 

"Oh wow. Your dress is beautiful."

Princess Peach looked down and smiled at the little girl before her. The girl looked straight back at her and asked, "Are you a princess?"

"Oh hush Molly. Quit bothering this nice young woman.", the girl's mother quickly said. "I'm so sorry. She can be such a handful sometimes. By the way, that's a lovely dress."

Princess Peach merely smiled again. As the mother and daughter turned away, Princess Peach waved good bye to the little girl. The little girl gave a bright smile and frantically waved back.

"Excuse me... I'm not exactly sure if we take... Gold coins."

Gotham's Hilton was one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, and working there had given Philip a front row seat to see some of the world's most influential people. And while all sorts of currencies had gone through his hands, rarely had anyone ever paid their stay in solid gold coins. Yet this plump Italian looking man had, without much thought, dropped several hefty pieces of gold, right there on his desk. 

Mario looked at the hotel employee. Thinking that perhaps he hadn't paid enough, Mario pulled out five more large gold coins. The desk shook when he dropped them. 

"Uh... Okay. Well... Your room is 502. Here is your key. Please enjoy your stay. We have five indoor swimming pools, a gym, a built in five star restaurant, and oh, so much more."

Mario tipped his hat and, accompanied by Peach, headed to the elevator. 

"What an odd pair..." Philip commented, as the duo slipped away.

"Burn down this establishment!"

Philip, loyal hotel employee for many years, looked up and nearly fainted. Swarms of people, most of them easily identifiable as lower class, crashed through the hotel's glass doors. The hotel alarms rang, but the angry mob of people could care less. Philip rushed to press the emergency button beneath his desk, unsure of what else to do. The angry mob rushed forward, like ocean tide, washing over the main lobby. Rich people shrieked in horror as they were tackled by angry poor people. Bane had incited a riot, and now the classes were truly at war. 

Women who had never worked a day in their lives were thrown to the floor, their purses viciously snatched. Men too, were beaten down by the angry fists of the oppressed class. Watches and necklaces alike were ripped off their owners. 

"Watch the elevators! Make sure none of them escape!" a voice cried out from the back. The mob roared in approval, as a troop of men began to ascend the stairs. 

Philip watched with horror from behind his desk as the elite felt the weight of the masses.

Mario and Peach are on the fifth floor with no idea of what's going on. Peach will be taken, and it will be up to Mario to rescue her (as usual). He has a couple mushrooms, and a fire flower, which he may use whenever he wants. In order to win he will have to:

• Rescue Peach (Located in Gotham's New Courthouse)
• Evade capture by angry mobs
• Defeat Catwoman
• Reach safety of green sewer pipe (located in the middle of Bane's fortress)

Can Mario escape with Peach? Or does the Gotham Lower Class take its revenge??

A short match based on the Batman movie. Not sure if it needs spoilers. Doesn't reveal anything really.

MARVEDIT: For the sake of this match, all guns only shoot large, but super slow, bullet bill style bullets. Mario may jump on them and suffer no harm.

Jumping on people's heads has less effect in the real world.

I'd imagine having a full grown man stomp on my head would hurt somewhat... Not sure I'd be as bouncy as Mario's usual foes though.

MARVANOTE: Ah! Deo! I totally didn't steal your Batman movie tie in match ideas... I just uh... Thought about it...

Good setup. I don't think Mario will have a problem rescuing Peaches and escaping Gotham. A few people are gone wake up with some serious headaches when Mario gets through with him adding in the fact Mario has feats above human. Mario will stop at nothing to get Peaches back.

Heh. This is an interesting one. While Mario has no problem with his usual foes, they're usually... short in stature. As pointed out in a previous match, Luigi's got the hops, so jumping on their heads is probably out. I see Mario getting swarmed, and captured, before he even gets to Peach.

Keep in mind Mario is above human physically. I can see Mario not even traveling on the ground but maybe on the rooftops when he is able to. He sure has the physically means to hop from building to building. In addition if you watch Batman Begins the rooftops are actually not far from each other in some areas. Even if Mario got captured he is strong and fast enough to escape.

Nothing is stopping Mario from saving Peaches.

Yeah...well... game physics and real world physics are two very different things. He's tries leaping roof to roof, with those weak hops, and he's liable to go SPLAT!

Depends on who's playing as Mario. In any case, I don't think any Mario player can dodge 100s of bullets at once.
