Does anybody else hate these people? Like, do they ever give out informative advice, or anything else except washed out cliches? Our school recently got one to speak at an assembly and his whole damn 90 minute long session boiled down to "Work hard but be social and friendly and learn from your peers." Literally throughout the entire presentation I just wanted to stand up and be like, "Ooooh really!!! Work hard?? And be nice? So I won't make it being a lazy, mean person that throws cashews at strangers?? Thanks for the tip Mr. Hollywood!!" But then I wouldn't be social and friendly. Does anyone else know how these people still have a job? Is there something I'm missing? Is my experience just abnormal? Why do people pay money to hear this bullshit?!

Depends on the speaker. I've heard some motivational speeches that kicked a billion types of ass.

I mean, this guy talked nice, and was energetic and peppy and all that, but I just felt that his whole thing just boiled down to a self-evident sentence. It seemed like a waste of 90 minutes. Maybe I'm interpreting their job incorrectly. Maybe their job isn't to give useful, new advice, but to actually make people believe in and realize the same damn advice they already know.

Explosions In The Sky Version:

This one is more popular because there's something to watch. That and Explosions In The Sky are awesome.

My favorite motivational video ever. I've learned it verbatim and I recite it like a prayer.

It'd be cooler if you could see the words.
