THIRD PLACE up with the score of 4.54...
Lunacyde
SECOND PLACE with a score of 4.58...
4Pey
And the FIRST PLACE WINNER with a total score of 4.94 is
Johnny Chany WITH Mickey vs. Minnie!!
Here's what the Judges thought of his setup:
Darkender: 4.9/5
Bravo good sir. What can I say? It was great. Original, emotional, nostalgic. It had it all. My only fault was a missing “do” early on but other than that, just great.
Lonewolf: 5/5
"This is something that was definitely not just thrown together. A lot of work went into the set up and it turned out great. It was well researched, well paced, stylish and I immediately began to consider it for the top 3 upon reading."
Culwych1: 5/5
"Amazing - nothing much more to be said. I really can’t fault anything about this story or the premise, it is original and innovative. It could have been a bit more upbeat, but that’s just me."
Ruinus: 5/5
"Aaaaaaaahahahahaha
Jesus Christ this was hilarious in a morbid sort of way."
Treacherous: 4.8/5
It was good. Really good. If you notice, the only two who didn't give it a solid 5 are those snobby FPLers.
Congratulations Johnny Chany, your match is going in the Outstanding Match Ups thread and your name is going in the CBUB Hall of Fame as writer of the Month. You worked hard for it.

Seriously though, good job to everyone who entered. Congrats to Johnny for getting 1st. Jerk.
If the judges are willing to post what they thought of my set-up, I'd love to hear it.

- To 4Pey, my joint winner and that does not take away the fact that both your's and Johnny's writing were amazing. Fantastic job and congrats to both.
- To Lunacyde, your score was half a point off my top three and sadly only because I felt your writing was one step behind Bigballerju's for detail and description. Given the fact that you were using lesser known characters that is perhaps what you should have focused on. Either way, brilliant writing and can't wait for your next match. As you say, not too shabby and if you keep it up, expect to be in top three very soon.
- To the rest of my tops; keep it up, I hope and expect to see more of your writing.
-------------------------------------
JOINT 1st PLACE
- Peypeypeypey - Calvin V Hobbes
5/5 - My clear winner from a story point of view. A great read and a great idea although the ending left me wanting more! Brilliant stuff.
- Johnny Chany - Minnie Mouse V Mickey Mouse
5/5 - Amazing - nothing much more to be said. I really can’t fault anything about this story or the premise, it is original and innovative. It could have been a bit more upbeat, but that’s just me.
JOINT 2ND PLACE
- Doom - Death (Discworld) V The Eleventh Doctor
4.5/5 - Amazing idea and I like the take on “old friends”. Agh, it began a bit too suddenly (with Death just appearing) to earn a 5 sadly but this was damn near the top.
- Corvette - Sonya Blade V Jax
4.5/5 - Good characterisation and story. Interesting.
3rd PLACE
Bigballerju - Roger Rabbit V Bugs Bunny
4/5 - Hmmm, a tough one to judge. Whilst one the one hand the writing is good, I didn’t feel like the story actually evolved moved forward. Something just missing for me.

It was good. You captured the characters pretty well, and my only problem was some of Peter’s vocabulary. He said some things that seemed out of his scope/range. All and all however I thought it fit the challenge well and was a good read.

I didn’t know the characters THAT well so I can’t say if this is plausible or not but as far as the writing goes, it was good. There were a couple mistakes that really messed up the flow of the story but other than that it was a good read.
Lunacyde- 4.6

Very nice. I love the Avatar series and you really did them justice in this set up. The story was descriptive and the dialogue was great. The only problem was a couple missing words and commas that could have been added to strengthen the flow of the story. Also, while I felt you met the challenge, I didn’t feel right giving you a 5. I felt this fight was more of a disagreement than one character straight up betraying the other. However, I could see how the characters could feel betrayed. Still, very nice.

I’m not even sure what you added from this “Universe Beta” of yours but I do know that Hit Girl and Big Daddy’s characterization was a bit off. This is especially true if you used the movie versions. (More so Hit Girl than Daddy) However, the writing was still pretty good with no errors that to trip up the flow of the story as far as I could tell.
Dr. Pymp: 3.5
Challenge:5
Confrontation:4
Grammar:2.5

I don’t remember much about Dragon ball Z but I would think someone writing a set up for it should at least know how to spell the important words. A simple trip to google would have earned you a significantly higher average. You should also really reread your set up before you post.
Doom: 4.6
Challenge:4

I’ve never seen the show but now I’m quite intrigued. The set up was simple and well written. It was entertaining enough to keep someone, even someone without the slightest clue what’s going on, reading.
BigBallerJu: 4.4
Challenge:5

Good stuff. Creative idea combined with good writing leads to a good grade.

I didn’t see the betrayal here. It may be because I know little to nothing of these characters, however. Was it the kiss that was mentioned? I’ll most likely curve this grade.

What a refreshing match. The writing was superb despite a couple mistakes and it left more for the reader to think about other than “feats”. This is the type of creativity that I like to see and that will most definitely flourish in the CBUB Challenges. Excellent Job.
