One of our CBUB forum members is telling me that another CBUB visitor showed up at their house in real-life and didn't say who they were but that they knew them from CBUB.
Now, I do not know how anybody could look up somebody in real life from the CBUB website. This website stores no useful info about anyone (like, say, their physical address for example). Unless the person offers that info themselves or pastes it in their profile it is not knowable. Also we all use screen names, not real names. It's all pretty much anonymous here.
However a CBUB user wrote me to say that this happened - that someone claming to know them from CBUB showed up at their place and would not leave a name.
OK, so now I will post to say DON'T try to physically locate some other internet person and then show up at their house unannounced. That's freaky and weird behavior. If you think it is OK to do something like that - it's not. It's freaky and weird and in a sane world it will get you arrested (or possibly dead if you live in Texas).
Don't do that. Don't stalk people you see on Facebook, or here or any other social website. Because that's freaky, weird behavior and it makes people think you are abberant and possibly dangerous. So don't do that. It's insane.

If any of the CBUB Facebook group members wanted to show up here, I think I'd recognize them. It'd be weird, but I wouldn't freak out about it. I just wonder who it was, and if they're members of that private group...DamagEdit: ALTHOUGH, posted without thinking, sending a message on Facebook saying they may be coming through and want to stop by, and showing up unannounced at your doorstep, are 2 completely different things.

There was also that whole fiasco that resulted in Soberguy's departure. A handful of members flocked to Twitter to follow him. That isn't private, like the hidden Facebook group Nova set up.

While I agree that stalking is wrong, I have to wonder what the purpose of this thread is.
Those people who would do so, are not going to be deterred by a post on the internet saying that somebody doesn't like it, and the people who wouldn't do it, wouldn't do it anyways.
