Bows and camouflage have a great advantage here. The forest setting will allow the Merry Men to stay undetected and their weapons are mostly silent. They could pick the musketeers off without ever exposing themselves.

I agree with LoneWolf. As long as the Merry Men stay hidden then they are safe from, and have a significant advantage over, the Musketeers.
