Match 11725 Princess Azula vs. Mr.FreezeAzula vs. Mr. Freeze

Fzzzt – crash, a mound of trash bags had broken her fall. Azula pulled a banana peel from her frazzled hair. She sat up and straightened her wrinkled red prison uniform with her hands. A rat scampered away from the bloated bags of garbage and into the shadows.
“Filthy creature, what kind of place is this?” she questioned to no one in particular.
“The kind of place you don’t want to be darling”, a dark figure appeared from the shadows slowly followed by two others.
“Yeah, don’t you know it’s not smart to be out this late on this side of the tracks?” Another joined in, the third man just laughing in the shadows.
“Oh, am I supposed to be scared?” she replied coyly.
“Damn right you are”, the first man retorted pulling a large knife from his trench coat. Its blade gleamed as the beams from a flashing neon sign caught it just right. Azula stood up straight, taking on a commanding presence.
“You do know who I am right? I’m Princess Azula of the fire nation, rightful heir to the throne.
“I don’t care if you’re Princess Peach of Mario World; you’re coming with us your highness.” He made a mocking face and his companions laughed.
“Look I can see you are just a couple common street urchins trying to make a living. If you leave now I may just spare your lives.”
“Wrong answer your majesty.” The thug lunged towards her brandishing the knife. She went for his wrist first, disarming the blade from his hand so easily he couldn’t react to the next attack; a powerful kick to his chin. He was out before his body hit the pavement like a sack of flour, and she was already onto the second assailant. He reached into his coat for a gun, but with startling swiftness she disarmed him as well. She delivered a knee to the groin, then an elbow and fist combo to take him down.
The third thug shot wildly, but his bullets sprayed wide of their mark. She kicked up the first man’s knife with her foot catching it and releasing it all in a fluid motion. The knife caught his arm pinning it against the brick wall behind him, his hand opening in pain and dropping the gun. She grabbed the man by collar and looked him directly in the eyes.
“Now we can do this the easy way-”, she hesitated leaning back for a second. “Or we can do it the hard way”, she said as an intense blue flame sprang to life in her open hand; illuminating the darkened alleyway. “Your choice”
“I’m not telling you nothing sugar queen.” The man winced in pain.
“Oh really? And why is that? You don’t even know what I want yet.”
The man looked like he was thinking for a second. “Alright”, he said motioning with his head for her to lean in closer. As she tilted her ear to hear what he had to say he launched a torrent of spit to the side of her face.
“Fine, it’s going to be more fun for me this way anyways.” She held the scorching flame to the side of his face. He screamed in agony, promising to tell her anything she wanted, but she held it there burning and blistering as he struggled. “You should have told me before. You weren’t afraid enough, but you will be.” She held the flame against his face until he stopped moving, stopped screaming for mercy. She pulled the blood-soaked knife from the wall letting his body collapse on the cold hard ground. A little white matchbook fell from his pocket and landed in a small puddle at her feet. She bent over to pick it up, seeing an image on the front of a glistening iceberg.
Azula pocketed the matchbook unsure just exactly what it was, and tucked the large knife into her waistband. Impatiently she strode out into the glowing lights of the street. The narrow stretch of asphalt was nearly abandoned and no one was walking the sidewalks. Where am I? She thought to herself? What kind of fire is this? She stared at the glowing streetlights hanging over her head. She continued walking down the street taking in the strange sights and sounds, and glaring devilishly at anyone foolish enough to walk by.
Soon she saw a familiar site as the figure of a large neon iceberg loomed imperiously over the sidewalk. This must be the place she thought. It’s about time for some answers. She walked in through the front door, but before she got two steps in the bouncer was all over her.
“I’m sorry miss, but you can’t come in here looking like that.”
“Are you insulting the way I look? I’m royalty you swine. You are going to let me in here or else.” She snapped her fingers sharply and as if on command an electric blue flame sprung from her hand.
“Ummm, sure just come one in, I’ll just have to go let the boss know-”
“No need, you can just take me to him. I’ll have to have a word with him about your service. It must be hard to find competent help these days.”
“I really don’t think that’s a good idea.”
Suddenly a large man in a strange suit walked over. His skin was pale white and he had a clear bowl over his head. “What is going on here?”
“Umm, this young lady wants to see the boss.”
“Well she will have to be disappointed then the Penguin isn’t seeing anybody right now, especially strange women off the street.” His voice was strange, deep and almost robotic.
“I’m sorry, but he’s going to have to change his plans. You can just join me if you want or I can go find your boss myself. It really doesn’t make a difference to me.”
The strange man leveled something at her. “I’m sorry miss but I’m going to have to give you the cold shoulder.” A blue beam leapt from the guns barrel, Azula flipped over it, the beam passing behind her and icing over the wall.
She landed gracefully on top of the bar. A second blast from the gun missed as she ducked behind the bar, grabbing a few throwing knives Cheshire had left behind.

As for the match, Azula's going to be in for quite a surprise if she tries to use fists and feet against Freeze. Those daggers might bounce harmlessly off his armor, too. Still, Azula's too fast for Fries to tag her with his attacks, so she eventually takes him out with her firebending, lightning, and ruthless cunning.

That is pretty much my take on it as well. I think Azula should be able to dodge or block just about anything Freeze can throw at her, but early on she's going to probably be surprised with the durability of his suit. She is a cunning fighter though and freeze isn't exactly the most agile opponent. There is no way I can see him dodging a lightning attack and that or a charged firebending attack should be able to penetrate his suit. After that it's all she wrote.

That's like pitting Nathaniel Ayers against Killer Frost in a match.

A Good match and nice start to the arc.
A Excellent setup. I like the story and matchup even if Freeze is out of his league.
A Very interesting set-up.
