[Redemption X]

(this is my submission to the CBUB May challenge. A hero turned into a villain, and a villain put in the role of a hero, just as you asked)

in the great magnetic field
When he travelled time
for the future of mankind

Nobody wants him

Planning his vengeance
that he will soon unfurl

for Iron Man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead

THE END OF UNIVERSE BETA

The year 2055

Death. Decay. Destruction.

The Beyond era, the bright and shiny future when technology had bettered people's lives and aliens mingled with humans...

...has never come to pass.

Instead, Earth Beta is a shell of its former self. Citiesville is in ruins. Netopia is, once again, a large smoking crater. Metro City has been reduced to rubble.

Memorials are filled with the graves of fallen heroes: Klan Klan, Frenzy, Spider-Girl, Wolverine, Hit Girl Next...

Deep inside what was once the headquarters of P.R,O.C.E.S.S., Karate Kid, the last of the Venturers, meets with Topaz, the last of the NetHacks, for an important mission.

"Are you sure this is gonna work?" says Karate Kid.

"I'm not, but we don't have another choice. We have to use the Space-Time Remoleculerizer to transport you back to the past, find out what caused the Great Disaster, and stop it." says Topaz

"But, Lt. Topaz-" says Karate Kid

"Just Topaz. My rank in the NetHacks means nothing now." says Topaz

"Topaz, I thought Dr. Blake created this machine so that only inanimate objects go throught it. We don't know the effects this could have on an human being." says Karate Kid

"That's a risk I'm willing to take." says Topaz

"And how am I supposed to stop The Destructor? He killed every single superhero on Earth!" says Karate Kid

"I know, which is why I'm equipping you with THIS." says Topaz as he pulls out a sheet, revealing an alien battle suit.

"What is this?" says Karate Kid

"This is the Wikus D-9 Battle Suit. It's named after Wikus Van de Merwe of District 9 in Johannestown in Africa, the first person to ever use one of these. It's made of a metal alloy stronger than most metals on Earth, it's durability is amazing, it's equiped with high-powered machine guns, plasma cannons, missiles and a Grav/Mag Gun, and Dr. Blake personally enhanced it with rocket boosters and an anti-magic field generator.

With this suit, the Destructor stands no chance against you." says Topaz

Thus, Karate Kid climbs inside the battle suit and enters the time portal...

The year 2012

Karate Kid exits the time portal in the middle of New York.

He is delighted by what he sees: people running around the streets, busy, happy, careless, meek, milld-mannered.

Alive.

Buildings, houses, hot dog stands, restaurants...all still standing. All in one piece.

However, his joy turns into horror when he realizes something:

he can't take off the battle suit.

No matter how hard he tries, the battle suit is stuck to his body, like a second layer of skin.

"Shit! The magnetic field in the space-time continnum black matter tunnel fused my molecules with the molecules of the battle suit!" says Karate Kid

Things get even worse when people finally notice him:

"It's a big mechanical monster!"

"A killer robot is on the loose!"

"Alien invasion!"

"The aliens are gonna kill us all!"

"They are gonna eat our brains!"

"No! No! You don't understand! Don't run away! Please...stop..." says Karate Kid

Karate Kid turns around to find the Alpha Team standing next to him.

"OK, you must be another Changer on the loose. Why don't you come of us quietly so the Professor can have a talk with you?" says Violet Parr

"What are you talking about? I'm not a Changer!" says Karate Kid

"Look, my powers tell me that you are in great pain due to a tragedy hapenning in your past. If you come with us..." says Allie Keys

"STAY. AWAY. FROM ME." says Karate Kid

Karate Kid raises his right arm in front of Allie, and without thinking it showers Allie with bullets. Allie falls down in a pool of her own blood.

"ALLIE! NO!" says Carrie White as she runs towards Allie's bloody corpse.

"No! This wasn't supposed to happen! THIS ISN'T POSSIBLE!" says Karate Kid

Allie Keys. A cute, innocent, shy 12 year old kid, brutally killed. And Karate Kid was the one who killed her.

The shock of Allie's death, combined with the trauma of his transformation and the frustation of seeing the civilians panicking, causes Karate Kid's mind to snap. He becomes a twisted, evil villain with a mission: in his mind, the only way to prevent the Great Disaster is to kill everyone before the Destructor kills them.

"Who the *vulgarity* are you!?" says Carrie

"I AM THE IRON MAN!" says Karate Kid

Carrie feels the rage burning deep within her once again, a rage long since supressed by Professor Wozzeck. She uses her powers to hurls lamp posts, hot dog stands and chunks of buildings towards Karate Kid. But Karate Kid deflects them all with his Grav/Mag Gun. He fires a plasma bolt at Carrie, and Carrie explodes in a fountain of gore.

Charlie McGee walks towards him, her own supressed rage pulsating in every inch of her body. However, Karate Kid shoots a plasma bolt at her, and Charlie also explodes in a fountain of gore.

David Rice teleports in front of Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid snaps David's neck effortlessly.

Jeremy Reed throws a lightning bolt at Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid absorbs it (Dr. Blake's modifications to the suit include energy absortion, ala Tony Stark's armor in "The Avengers") and redirects it in a blast that vaporizes Jeremy.

Violet goes invisible, but the suit's infra-red tracker spots her easily, and Karate Kid showers her with bullets. Violet falls down, dead.

Yun Sook starts to grow to giant size, but Karate Kid shoots her with a missile mid-growth, and Yun Sook explodes in a fountain of gore.

"YES! YES! Soon, this world will learn to fear me! Fear the Iron Man!" says Karate Kid

Karate Kid turns around to find the Guardians standing in front of him.

"Unknown Hostile, you have been deemed a planetary-level threat by P.R.O.C.E.S.S. You are now under arrest." says Agent Kim Possible

"Surrender and come with us quietly, or we will be forced to use lethal force." says Agent Mia Dearden

"I have a better idea..." says Karate Kid

Karate Kid uses his Grav/Mag Gun to knock Agent Possible's gun and Agent Dearden's bow outta their hands. He then covers them with a shower of bullets, and they both falls down, dead.

Blue Beetle flies towards Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid uses his Grav/Mag Gun to rip the Blue Beetle Scarab outta Jaime Reye's spine, and crushes it. Now having a large hole in his back, Jaime falls down, dying in a pool of his own blood.

"You...you monster! You...will...PAY FOR THIS!" says Katherine Allogagan

In her pain and rage, Katherine transforms into the huge rampaging beast known as the Nemesis.

"THE NEMESIS WILL CRUSH YOU!" says the Nemesis as she runs towards Karate Kid

Karate Kid shoots a plasma bolt at the Nemesis. The Nemesis doesn't explode, but she starts vomiting blood. Blood starts pouring from her nose and ears, she reverts back to Katherine Allogan, and she falls down, dead

"A little help here, toots? We could really use some of your vast goddess powers right about now!" says Sky Captain

"No. This is not my war anymore. I cannot change what is meant to be. The sands of destiny are already moving. My time among the mortals has come to an end. Adieu, Monsieur Sullivan." says Calypso

Thus, Calypso turns into hundreds of crabs and then vanishes, just as she did during the fight between Cutler Beckett, Davy Jones and the Pirate Brethen.

"This can't be good-" says Sky Captain

Before Sky Captain can say anything else, Karate Kid covers him in a shower of bullets, and he falls down, dead.

"Yes! I shall slay you all! All will fall before the might of the Iron Man!" says Karate Kid

Suddenly, a voice behind him calls out, "I don't think so."

Karate Kid turns around to find Hit Girl standing in front of him, in full costume after all those years.

"I always said that I would come out of retirement if something really heavy showed up. And you are the heaviest guy around!" says Hit Girl

"Don't make me laugh! You think you alone can take me? You have no superpowers!" says Karate Kid

"He's not alone, psycho." says someone behind Hit Girl

Hit Girls turns around to see her old Venturers teammates walking towards her. G-Girl, Battle Girl, Static, Black Alice, Green Lantern, Sakura Haruno, Hinata Hyuga, Officer Xegito and Officer Sara Pezzini.

"Once a Venturer, always a Venturer!" says Battle Girl

Battle Girl's words make Karate Kid flinch for a moment, but he quickly resumes his insanity.

"We won't stand idly as you butcher every superhero in the world!" says G-Girl

"VENTURERS, MARCH!" says Black Alice

Karate Kid showers Officer Xegito and Officer Sara Pezzini in a shower of bullets, and they both fall down, dead.

Sakura Haruno runs towards Karate Kid, but Karate Kid shoots a plasma bolt at her, and she explodes in a fountain of gore.

Hinata Hyuga uses her Gentle Fist technique, but it barely fazes Karate Kid. Karate Kid shoots a plasma bolt at her, and she explodes in a fountain of gore.

Black Alice runs towards Karate Kid. But Karate Kid is a tech-based villain, so Black Alice's powers are useless. Thus, Karate Kid covers her in a shower of bullets and she falls down, dead.

Green Lanterns runs towards Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid uses his Grav/Mag Gun to pull the Green Lantern Ring outta Jennifer-Lynn Hayden's index finger and toss it into the sun. Powerless without her Green Lantern Ring, Karate Kid covers her in a shower of bullets, and she falls down, dead.

Static shoots a bolt of lightning at Karate Kid. But again, Karate Kid absorbs it and redirects the energy into a blast that vaporizes Static.

G-Girl flies towards Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid sucks all of the meteor energy from G-Girl's body, reverting her back to her powerless Jenny Johnson form. Karate Kid cover Jenny in a shower of bullets, and she falls down, dead.

"JENNY!" says Hit Girl

Hit Girl is shattered by this. G-Girl, her best friend, her confidante, the one that trusted her when nobody else did, her moral support, her leader...is now dying.

Hit Girl runs towards Jenny, cradling Jenny in her arms as tears well in Hit Girl's eyes.

"Hit Girl...win this one for me...I know you can..." says Jenny

Jenny coughs up blood and dies as Hit Girl emits a piercing scream of agony

"YOU BASTARD!" says Battle Girl as she runs towards Karate Kid.

However, Karate Kid shoots a plasma bolt at Battle Girl, and Battle Girl explodes in a fountain of gore.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" says Hit Girl

There are not enough words to convey the pain and sadness that Hit Girl feels right now. Battle Girl. G-Girl. Jenny Johnson. Angel Murphy. The two people that meant the most to her, her most precious loved ones, two people she loved as her own family, and they are now are now dead. Brutally butchered.

Something long repressed awakens deeps inside Hit Girl. Her eyes are filled with a bloodthirsty fury not seen since she first started as a superheroine, back when she was mentored by Big Daddy.

"You have crossed the line, and now you will pay the price. No more restraints. No more morals. No more honor code. I will not pretend to be a righteous, upstanding superheroine any more. I'M GOING TO *vulgarity*ING KILL YOU!" says Hit Girl

For the first time in years, Hit Girl pulls out her spear, ready to gut Karate Kid like a fish. However, Karate Kid uses his Grav/Mag Gun to pull the spear out of Hit Girl's hands and impale her in the chest with it. Killed by her own spear, Hit Girls lies in a pool of her own blood, dead.

The Venturers are dead. And so, the Great Disaster begins...

In P.R.O.C.E.S.S. Headquarters...

"What are we gonna do? The Unknown Hostile is destroying everything in his path, and he kills every superhero that tries to stop him!" says Agent Len

"Then perhaps it's time to make a hero out of a villain." says Agent Lorekeep

"What do you mean?" says Agent Len

"Remember the first mission of the Guardians?" says Agent Lorekeep

"Yeah, they fought against Black Adam, an army of Decepticons and..." says Agent Len

"...the Fury" says Agent Lorekeep

"You mean..." says Agent Len

"Yes. After the fight was over, we recovered the Fury, fixed it, and reprogrammed it to serve P.R.O.C.E.S.S. The Fury works for P.R.O.C.E.S.S. now. And he's the only one powerful enough to stop the Unknown Hostile." says Agent Lorekeep

"Let's hope so, or else I'm moving back to Wonderland. I do miss my sister, Alice, after all." says Agent Len

The woods of Forks, Washington

Karate Kid arrives to find the Prime Merlinians standing in front of him.

"It's that big robot thing that killed most of the superheroes in the world!" says Lulu Evenbrooke

"How can he be here? Nothing technological is supposed to enter these woods!" says Selene Billing

"We have to defeat him!" says Alex Everhart

"Are you sure? We deal with magical beings. Technological menaces are out of our jurisdiction!" says Alice Kite

"Besides, he killed every superhero that tried to fight him! We can barely defeat Voldemort and his Death Eaters! What chance do we have?" says Jenna Liams

"We have to try! We can't let ourselves be intimidated! We are the Prime Merlinians, and we protect the world from all evil!" says Carisa Versipellis

"Carisa is right! Let's get him!" says Lulu

Lulu, Selene, Alex, Alice, Jenna and Carisa point their wands at Karate Kid. However, Karate Kid uses his Grav/Mag Gun to knock their wands outta their hands. Karate Kid covers them with a shower of bullets, and Lulu, Selene, Alex, Alice, Jenna and Carisa all fall down, dead.

Margaret Isobel Theroux, Brianna Withridge and Madelyn Hibbins walks towards the scene and are horrified by what they see.

"OUR STUDENTS!" says Isobel

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM, YOU MECHANICAL ABOMINATION?" says Brianna

"YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!" says Madelyn

Isobel, Madelyn and Brianna charge up their magic. Unfortunately, Karate Kid has his anti-magic field generator on. He fires a plasma bolt at Isobel, and Isobel explodes in a fountain of gore. He fires another plasma bolt at Brianna, and Brianna explodes in a fountain of gore. He fires another plasma bolt at Madelyn, and Madelyn explodes in a fountain of gore.

"IS THERE ANYONE LEFT TO CHALLENGE ME?" says Karate Kid

As if on cue, the Fury lands in front of Karate Kid

"I know you...you are that robot that the Guardians fought! Are the people of this world so desperate that they put their lives in a hand of a mass-murdering machine? Very well. I sense a real challenge for you, so I'm gonna let you play for a while. Show me what you have, Fury!" says Karate Kid.

Thus, the Fury charges at Karate Kid as the battle that will decide the fate of Earth Beta starts...

Sorry about the lack of setup, guys. I was just about to post it when the computer died on me. It's better now, but I'm installing a new computer this Wednesday (the current one I have is old as hell). Once I get the new computer up, I'll post the setup.

Just for those commenting: this is NOT Karate Kid under normal circumstances. I'm not stupid enough to pit him against the Fury as-is. In my setup, he has received a power-up that (I think) will even up the scales considerably.
