THE RULES OF THE GAME
The roles are the following: Two or three werewolves, the hunter, the detective, one or two witches/warlocks, and the rest are villagers.
The werewolves are the main antagonists of the game. it is up to the rest of the players to deduce who is the werewolf. However, they attack during night when the town argues during the day.
The hunter is one of the heroes who spends the night killing who he or she suspects as one of the werewolves. He or she will be on the same team as the villagers. The hunter needs to set his sights on a target once night falls.
The detective is also on the same team as the villagers. Instead of brute force, the detective uses brains to deduce who is the werewolf.
The witches and warlocks are the occult practitioners sent to protect the villagers. They need to make a wise choice or the werewolf will kill them. If a witch or warlock protects a villager who turns out to be a werewolf, he or she will be eaten.
There isn't a set size, but ten or more players would be the optimal number.
Every morning I will write a “Dawn” scene in which I will describe the events that occurred the previous night. If anyone dies I will describe their demise in gory detail, and reveal their true identity.
With the exception of werewolves, who can PM to each other when choosing the night’s target, there is to be no strategizing/talking about the game outside the official game thread. The werewolves can kill a character, but must collectively agree or vote on the decision. However, I will talk to confused players to explain what's what.
The hunter can kill one person a night of their own decision. Nothing can stop the hunter.
Once per night the detectives can ask the GM about the identity of any one player, which the GM will reveal. They cannot kill the person, but must convince the villagers during the town meeting to lynch someone if they know them to be a night-beast.
The lynching votes go as so everyone in town, including the werewolves and “special” characters, gets one vote which they pretty much have to use. They can change their votes as many times before “Sunset” (a specific time on West-Coast standard), but cannot vote for themselves. If a simple majority is reached to execute one person at sunset, they are lynched. Votes and accusations are to be posted on the forum in public. If no majority is reached by Sunset, the mob goes home empty handed.
Upon any form of death I will reveal the victims true identity to the town.
If you die, you may still participate in the game, speaking on the forum as a ghost, but you cannot vote. If a were-wolf or detective dies he/she can trash-talk, but is pretty much out of the game due to his exclusive knowledge.
The villagers win if all were-wolves die. The werewolves win if they reach a point where the hunter and witch/warlock are dead and they outnumber the remaining population of townspeople, thereby controlling the lynching.
The wolves, witches, hunter, and detective, must all pm me their choices for the night before “Sunset”. In the case of the detective, you will get a reply PM from me at “Dawn”, informing you of the identity of your suspect.
Everyone can lie. I will neither confirm nor deny any such accusation. If I feel the wolves have it too easy, I may leave hints which give clues to the townspeople. I will try my best to make it as obscure as possible as to not send it to far on the other side.
EDIT: If there are less than ten people, I'll have to reduce some roles for "budget" purposes.

You do not pick a role. I'll have to assign a role. I will assign roles via PMs.
Dibs on Hunter.
So far in (not including GM):

If you pick a role, you will be instantly torn apart by the werewolfs. There's a wiki article for this game under the name Mafia. Everyone ready?
