Do we need all 150 Pokemon?

So my question is this: Do we need all the Pokemon who have ever existed in the database? And if we do, how close are we to having all six hundred twenty something pokemon? What be your thoughts?

Sooner or later we are going to end up with odd entries like "Superman with the Power Cosmic" or "Superman with a Green Lantern's Ring" as actual entries in the database.

And seriously, adding lots of characters doesn't detract from the site's quality. So what if no one ever uses them? At least the option's there.

I'm all for variety in the database. But I think Ruinus has a point too. We're already flooded with very obscure characters that just clutter the database. I think having so many people character to rummage through is a bit of a turn off and it is a bit harder to think of matches if you have to look through 20 different Batmen to find a different character. And seriously, adding lots of characters doesn't detract from the site's quality. So what if no one ever uses them? At least the option's there.
I think Pokemon is a special case though. Each Pokemon is his own entity, for sure, but are there just too many of them? Should we have every single form of every single evolution? How do we regulate it, if at all?

For example, if I wanted to have a fight between an AT-AT from Star Wars fighting, I dunno, the Mega Zord from Power Rangers the set up would just be "Galactic Empire vs Power Rangers". The set up would be clear as to who is fighting, and at the end I'd drop a link to the AT-AT and one to the Mega Zord.

Note: Not all evolutionary Pokemon are as good as their evolved forms. For example "Furrow = Good" and "Spearow = Crap". Im a big fan of Squirtle and Blastois, but who will ever use Wartortle? No one... Im a big fan of Charmillion, and he is very unique looking, but who will ever use him (I would!) when Charzard and Charmander are far more popular? Things like that are what you have to ask yourself. Ill tell you right now, adding Goldeen is a waist of time. Add the legendary birds!

Already done. Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos are all in, along with Lugia and Ho-Oh if you count them too.We dont need ALL of them, but I would be cool with alot of them (no new ones please). Guys like Magikarp, Jynx, Slopoke, Weedle, and Shelder will NEVER be used, and if they are they will NEVER be used in a good match. However guys like Garadose, Charzard, Beedirll, Electebuzz, Mew, and Snorlax could make very good matches. You just have to ask yourself, "Would this guy ever be able to make an interesting match?" and "Will anyone ever want to use this guy?".

Lol. Make an interesting match with Magikarp. All he can really do is swim, and he's pretty slow and clumsy at that. He can learn tackle, but even then it hardly does anything. Magikarp is one of the most useless Pokemone there is.I might just use all of those Pokemon mentioned simply to spite you. :|
-Still, just to spite my friends in 2001, I raised a Magikarp to level 100. Sadly he still sucked. I figured it would be funny to have a Magikarp taking down Lv. 60 Garadose with "tackle", but he was almost as useless at 100 as he was at 5. Even a Lv. 27 Seel will hand him his ass. -.-

Hey after you are done spamming the CBUB DB with Pokemon, please make sure to insert every single one of the Green lantern Corps. from every planet. And be sure to Include all their alternate universe versions.

I tried adding Brock Lesnar as a UFC fighter (before he cameback to WWE), but they said he was considered a wrestler.Hey after you are done spamming the CBUB DB with Pokemon, please make sure to insert every single one of the Green lantern Corps. from every planet. Andre the Giant should be allowed though. He is huge in pop-culture. He did 19 years ago and still has T-shirts with his face on them! Lol. Andre has a Posse!

We have 2 identicle Attila the Huns, but no Andre? .....Or his posse.
Why not add Fezzik from Princess Bride? Can't see why that wouldn't be allowed as we have Inigo and Roberts

And agreed, we are starting to see too many variations of the same character - in particular Predators of which we have over 20!
Predator
Predator (Hish)
Falconer Predator
Tracker Predator
Chopper Predator
Prince Predator
Smiley Predator
Spartan Predator
Dark Predator
Ghost Predator
Berserker Predator
Scarface Predator
Elder Predator
Celtic Predator
Predator Herd
Scar Predator
Wolf Predator
Broken Tusk Predator
Killer Predator Clan
Light-Stepper Predator
MetaPredators
Can that really be justified?? I'm all for some of the obscure characters for the fans, but not when there is a character that can be used as a good replacement (i.e. "Predator" and then put in setup which one it is). Half the time it doesn't make a difference because the writer has to specify what age the Predator is anyway (or uses their own variation or personal Pred).
