The Arena, where dreams and reality can meet and mingle freely... only to inevitably clash against one another. Intellectually or physically, spiritually or killingly, sometimes dreams and reality don't mix, and they just have to duke it out. Enter the Arena, and may your metaphorical blood spill for our pleasure!

I'm gonna be honest... I fully accept they are well written characters but there's just something about the whole "Alpha Sentinels" and "Sin Eaters" schtick that is just turning me off.
I can't put my finger on it, but I just prefer a character that stands on it;s own and doesn't have to have a Tag Line attached to their name.

That's totally understandable. The concept wasn't deep- it was inspired by the ability to put so many characters into the gallery simultaneously. That appealed to a part of me that was raised on old school FPL rules of 1 or 2 characters at a time. I thought "holy crap I can create the Justice League" and so I more or less did exactly that. I hadn't imagined the name recognition thing would be a factor in voting, but I get how someone might be turned off by the team affiliation being part of the character name.
It was important for me to include the team name because, conceptually, unlike most FPL characters, the Alpha Sentinels wouldn't be published in their own comics. Much like the JSA, "Alpha Sentinels" would be a team book.
I can't speak for Rookie, but I imagine he had a similar reaction, i.e. "hey, cool, I can create a bunch of characters at once."
