It’s FPL tournament time! This one is contrived by the Conspiracy, but brought to you by your resident EF tournament/challenge bringer guy, treacherous. So, let’s get into it.

The Scenario

Basically, this is a tournament style writing competition wherein you will team up with another FPLer to create a pair of characters that have some form of shared history from two different active FPL teams. Basically, you will create one character and they (your partner) will create the other. You will be judged by your peers as a pair though. Whether they (your characters) are frenemies, rivals, old war friends, star-crossed lovers…it doesn’t matter. They must be separated by teams and they must share some sort of intimate history.

Pairing will be completely random. You will express your desire to join here. I will take down the names of all who are competing and then I will mix the names and pair them up. To keep it fair, I will probably separate vets, intermediates and beginners and try to pair equitably. This is something that will not start until perhaps May, so that gives you plenty of time to express interest, me to randomly pick teams and for you to start formulating ideas.

Once you are paired, please do not post your characters to the boards. PM me your characters and I will post them as you all compete against each other. This way, the characters will be fresh for at least one round to everyone involved. Last I will hold out from competing, but if we have any straggler who does not get a pair, I will default to that person. So with that said, please express some interest.

The Rules

Okay, you have been paired up. Now the idea is above. Let's set some ground rules. You may create any level character you'd like if you are able to do so. Basically you can have Street/Global, Global/Global or Street/Street, because it doesn't matter the level, it matters the writing. When you finish, one person within the pair needs to PM me the characters you both created. One PM per pair. That's six PM's. That's it. Last remember: Two characters, shared past, separate teams. Examples:

Deadline to finish characters: Friday May 4th, 2012. May allow for extension depending on progress. May end early depending on progress. Let's do it folks. Let's put another tournament in the history books.

This is the Deadline for you to say, "Hey, I want in on this." I will randomly draw for partners after this deadline and we definitely haven't gotten to any other deadlines outside of that.
