Did you see how big that optic blast was in the scan? Does it look like being able to direct the blast would be a problem?

As a matter of fact Vader's worse move would be to remove the visors.

Actually it may be the best move, after a force push. Yes, Cyclops will be able to use full optic blast, but he won't be able to see that well afterwards without massive damage.

Vader would be completely destroyed in seconds after he took Cyclop's visor off. Vader is not even remotely fast enough to move out the way of such a attack. Scott wouldn't close his eyes either once Vader took the visor off. Your forgetting the fact once Vader takes off Scott's visor he would be unleashing Scott's optic blast at full power.

Green lantern would only block it IF he knew it was coming depending on the situation. If that was done point blank and GL was not ready for it...forget it.

Umm, no. At point blank that blast might slightly hurt him, maybe knock him back some, but it would not go past his protective barrier. GL's shields are on a level to block supernovas, that blast would be nothing.

Vader can survive an optic blast. Worst-case scenario: he gets blasted on his ass before snapping Cyclops' neck.

But that's a moot point as snapping Cykes' neck with the force is faster than Cyclops reaching to his visor to blast him.

Actually, Cyclops also has triggers in his gloves that he can open his visor with.

Padme survived a force choke from close range long enough. If Scott is as tough as she is, which is downplaying his toughness imo...he can blast Vader and break his concentration in that time. With that done, he can unleash some more of his full power. Even if he does die...Colossus there would whoop Vader's ass.

Vader's suit can't even take lightening or a fire thrower (Shown in Darth Vader lost command) so when has it been shown he can take something as powerful as a optic blast?

Actually no it takes Vader at least a good 30 seconds to a minute to kill someone with a force choke. Cyclops in 30 seconds could get off one big optic blast to kill Vader. Cyclops has been shown to be quick enough to avoid even Quicksilver in battle so he is more then capable of shooting Vader with a optic blast before Vader kills him with a force choke.

@DSkillz: I know, but he almost always uses the visor button instead. That's going to cost him dearly in this fight.

Padme survived a force choke from close range long enough. If Scott is as tough as she is, which is downplaying his toughness imo...he can blast Vader and break his concentration in that time. With that done, he can unleash some more of his full power.

But I'm not talking about Force Choke. I'm talking about reaching out and snapping his neck.

Plus, Vader could just force Cyclops to look at the ceiling.

Even if he does die...Colossus there would whoop Vader's ass.

No arguments there.

Edit: Cyclops' blasts = / = lightning or fire. The optic beams are pure kinetic force, meaning that hitting Vader with one will basically replicate the effect of him being hit extremely hard - and Vader's cybernetics will allow him to survive that.

And again, I'm not talking about Force Choke. Vader uses that when he either wants information from his victim, or when he simply wishes to inflict a slow death upon his opponent. He'll be looking to finish things quickly here, so he'll simply snap Cyclops' neck. It'll be over in a second.

The sheer size of Cyclops' blast would kill Vador or damage his suit so much that it would no longer be able to keep him alive. You have to remember Vader is a physically fragile being in a decent suit with mental powers. The suit is no where near Iron Man's level, so I think damaging it would be pretty easy for Cyclops.

Also, Cyclops' martial arts training hasn't been mentioned. If Vader gets close Cyclops whoops his ass old school. Cyclops wins.

Cyclop's optic blasts have even been stated to have such a high level of power its not really known whats the limit. Cyclops once hit Juggernaut with enough power to split a planet in half. Vader's suit can not take such a power. Scott's energy for the optic blast comes is unlimited from the Universe it comes from.

Lol, if Cyclops gets in close, he's gonna be sliced to pieces. Vader's been training with a lightsaber since before Scott was born.

And yes, I know Cyclops potentially possesses that level of power, but he won't be using it here, because A - the visor regulates the amount of power Cyclops puts into his blasts, and B - Cyclops would never use that in the presence of allies.

I'm pretty sure Vader would get killed by even a mid range blast. Even if he only gets knocked down, Cyclops can just blast him again. This guy can uproot multiple trees with his concussive force, Vader's suit isn't really durable at all.

Cyclops has survived much worse threats up close. I could post scans of Cyclop's brutal fight with Wolverine from Schism where they were trying to kill each other, avoiding Quicksilver in battle, and more. Cyclops is more then capable of avoiding a lightsaber throw. Vader's suit wasn't built to within such powerful attacks. It was only built to keep Vader alive as he can't survive without it.

Cyclops with his visor is still capable of putting a hole in mountain and taking out Sentinels whose tech is way more advanced then Vader's suit.

Again: why would he use such a powerful attack? Cyclops isn't a murderer.

And also again: Vader will snap his neck before he fires a blast, so it's a moot point.

And no. Cyclops can't stand up to Vader in close combat. Force speed ftw.

Vader doesn't have force speed. No Vader won't snap his neck first for the many reasons me and others stated. Also yes Cyclops currently in Marvel will kill.

No, he won't kill some random enemy out of the blue. Reavers, Purifiers and the like, sure.

Where was it stated that Vader doesn't possess force speed? It's a relatively simple technique.

And you haven't listed any reasons regarding snapping Cyclops' neck that I haven't already countered.

No Vader doesn't have force speed because that requires a full human body which Vader does not have. Yes Vader has good speed in battle and is not slow but he doesn't have force speed because of his condition. Next Vader never just snaps someone's neck with the force as if he had regular TK. Vader always uses force choke and force push in the comics as well as novels. We already countered the force choke feat. It takes Vader 30 seconds to a minute to kill someone with a force choke. In less time then that Cyclops gets off a powerful optic blast killing Vader.

Vader isn't a regular enemy here. He is trying to capture the Cosmic entity. As far as Cyclops is concerned Vader is going to be dead as Cyclops will stop at nothing to make sure no one gets in the way of the Phoenix bonding with Hope because he believes it may save the mutant race Keep in mind this is beforee Avengers vs X-Men.

Darth Vader no matter any number of ways you cut its is as good as dead.
