Here's the premise

Take X number of people. Let's say 8. Have them play out a "season" of fiction competition. Each week, everyone faces off against a different person. Each pair has to write a short story about a character already in the gallery. Whoever is running the tourney will determine who gets paired up and who each pair has to write about. Then people vote on whose short story is best. Do this for 7 weeks so that everyone has matched up once. Then do a playoff until we get a winner who is crowned That Person Who Writes Fiction Really Good And Stuff.

Here's the deal

I am going to need 8 writers for this tournament. Anybody else will be substitutes if the originals drop out. The substitutes may be placed in writing competitions on the side if someone drops out to determine who will take the drop out's spot. With that said, first 8 in win, then I will post the beginning of the tournament on the RP/Fiction thread.

But really, these eight are in. Continue to sign up though, because if people start dropping (and they will), I'll need back up. Now, feel free to drop ideas until I get this up and running.

Seriously though, turnout is nice and fresh. I'll take second alternate.

other ideas that I came up as I was typing,

1. Alternate universe versions of a character. ie what if Tony still worked for the Syndicate, what if ZombieGirl joined the Fallen, what if Penelope Whatserface was male. Or more generally, what if the Communists won the cold war, or if we never discovered internal combustion; how would those universes change the characters here.

2. What do these characters do on their day off? They're not fighting or causing crime, show us an inside look at what they do after they punch out.

3. Pull a Hamlet. Kill everybody. Kill every character in your story in the most dramatic way possible.

In fact, why not do a "Whodunnit" type of thing? With the characters from the database being killed off one by one and such.
