I'mma gonna put some of my concept stuff here, for easy retrieval. First up, the 7 Elements (of Everything).
Null, Math, Apathy. CHAOS. Time, Sex, Hate.
Null - In the beginning, there was no end. Because there was no beginning to end. Everything was nothing. Some call it death, but there was nothing to die. Some called it the void, but there was nothing to be voided in the first place. There wasn't even a first place. There was only the Null (because Null sounds cooler than nothing). And it should have stayed that way. There was no reason why that should change. It was...
Math - Everything (which was nothing) used to make sense. The numbers added up. 0 + 0 = 0. It was the perfect system. A system of...
Apathy - A system where there was neither black nor white. There was no good, nor evil. And IS no good, or evil. The universe proceeds, regardless of how good or evil a person was. The Math still added up, and everything was still Null. But then...
Chaos - The Element known as SURPRISE! Chaos is not just the spice of life, it IS life. In the beginning, there was nothing, but BAM! Chaos let there be light. And then mass and then life and before you knew it, existence existed. From the non-existence of Null, came existence. Math still made sense. But the equations became far more complicated. Math now had to deal with cause AND effect. 1 + 1 is now 2, trippy. And Apathy still made the universe progress despite black and white, but now there's gray to deal with, AND 7 colors within the spectrum that made up white. And fear and courage and all that jazz. Hell, there was progress in the universe, not just the stillness that was. And that progress, is a product of...
Time - With the infusion of Chaos, now there was space. Now there's such a thing as places to go. Separate spaces existed. SPACE existed. And Time was needed to go from space to space. And like Apathy, Time moves on, regardless of black or white or green or neon sunshine yellow.
Sex - 1 + 1 = ... another 1? Where Apathy and Time virtually go hand in hand, Sex is the counterpart of Math. In Sex, 1 + 1 = another 1, and sometimes another 2, or a million. Sex drives most organisms, and those it doesn't, divide. Which pisses Math off almost as much. And that's before we get to the reborning jellyfish. Sex is illogicallness, is is unMathematical, but Sex is ultimately, math-ish. It's procreation, although recreation as well. It leads to Math, in a way. Just that it's a really weird and stupid science/summation system.
Hate - The final element. The one most far removed from it's counterpart. Hate rages on in spite of Null. Hate allows life to flourish in spite of Null, only for self-loathing to cause it to destroy itself. Hate allows for there to be existence through it's desire to destroy the existence of other existences. Hate is what allows the predator to kill the prey. It is what allows the prey to eat from the land. And it is why the land will even avenge itself by devouring both predator and prey. And in spite of this circle of Hate, life flourishes and becomes all the better for it. Hate is what allows for progress to occur. Hate of inadequate means of killing one another results in the creation of weapons, tools and civilization itself.
---
Love is an inversion or perversion of Hate. Although in truth, it is actually just weaker variant of Hate. A mother hates her child less than those who would harm the child. But in times of famine, a mother may well cannibalize the child, for she hates it more than her non-survival. People mistakenly believe that love is the base, and Hate is the byproduct. Of course, they are wrong. Hate is not just the progenitor of love, but of emotion itself. For instance, the Hate that others have what you yourself want, causes greed. Self-loathing changes greed to compassion. Fear is caused by the perception that you are unable to overcome the Hate that others bear upon you. Courage is the Hate of fear, allowing you to overcome it. It all boils down to Hate.
So why Hate and not other emotions? Let's look at a few others. Love's just a lesser form of Hate, so for the most part, it can do what Hate can. But justification is harder. For instance, sure, you can say you can kill something because you love it less than you love yourself, but it's easier to just kill because you Hate it more. Then there's fear, but fear doesn't really account for courage. You can do something brave because you fear the consequences of not doing it more than doing it, but courage is overcoming fear. So fear doesn't account for that.
Anyway, people are wrong about Hate. Just as they are wrong that the balance of the universe swings on "order". In truth, Chaos is what swings the pendulum.
These are the 7 Elements of Everything. Thus it is written. Hence it shall be... for me.
Next, the Infinite Beat. And then, the 3 Aspects of the Undead (destiny of death, unliving/hunger and transformation).
---
Okay I lied, I'mma gonna talk about the 3 Aspects of the Undead before the Infinite Beat.
Basically, there are 3 things that separate a true living being with an undead.
These 3 aspects are Hunger, Transformation and Destiny of Death.
Take someone who gets infected by an undead, that person will undergo Transformation. They will change from being the living to the unliving. And they will suffer Transformation for much of their un-lives. For instance, they'll begin to rot constantly, although they can also regenerate. Thus, they are constantly changing.
The second aspect is Hunger. The Undead must devour other living or unliving in order to continue their farcical existence. For instance, they need the brains or flesh of other creatures. Theirs is an existence at the expense of the existence of others.
Finally, Destiny of Death. Ultimately, the Undead will burn out and suffer death. It is an inevitability for them.
So, what do you suppose, qualify for Undead status? Zombies? They rot and they eat brains and flesh and ultimately, they collapse into death. So yeah, zombies are Undead. But there's also a whole slew of other creatures who qualify as Undead. Such as bears, ocelots and humans.
Yup, humans. Humans Transform from babies to adults to seniors, and are constantly rotting and regenerating. Humans Transform. Humans must consume plants and animals in order to continue their survival, they are afflicted with the Hunger. Finally, humans are destined to die. In crazy updatedude-land, Humans are just another category of Undead.
True living beings are immortal, the Undead are mortal. Earth is a cursed world filled with the Undead.
Add: Although to be fair/specific, Humans are closer to Unliving whilst Zombies etc are Undead. But few Living seldom bother to make the distinction.
The Infinite Beat
This here's a simpler concept. I've talked about it so much over the last couple years that I just don't feel like going into too much detail now. But the concept's simple.
In the beginning, BANG! The universe expands. Eventually, it'll contract into the Big Crunch. After which, it'll explode in a big bang again. In short, the cycle of existence and non-existence beats like a heart. And it beats infinitely, hence, the Infinite Beat.
Each "beat" of the universe is different, or sometimes the same. Sometimes, the difference between 2 Beats of the Universe (the life of the universe, between it's rebirth and death) is miniscule. Perhaps in one Beat your name is Eric, and in another your name is Anton. Or occasionally you have identical Beats. Sometimes, Beats are totally different, and humanity never existed.
Sometimes the Beats last for effectively eternity, other times, it could exist for as little as 7 or 8 billion years.
It all has to do with how the pieces fit back when it's time for the big crunch, which of course, effects how they re-blow up.
It's kinda like alternate dimensions, but linearly, not laterally. Each Beat (faux alternate reality) exist either in the past or future of the current Beat.
