He could try and wait until Kraven entered the room, but his visibility would be near zero, or he could go out and enter the fight.

the gorillinator looked for some matches and febreeze or something similiar, he also grabbed the biggest knife he could find.

The gorillinator lit a match, as he headed towards the door of the apartment with his homemade flamethrower. As soon as he saw kraven, he'd start firing.

The moment he came out into the hallway leading to the door, Kraven slammed into him, extinguishing the match and causing him to drop the flame-thrower.

As the two moved backwards into the apartment, Kraven punched him in the stomach a few times.
