They came up with the bright idea of printing counterfeit payroll checks with the plan of cashing them to make a quick profit. North Carolina is furniture manufacturing country so they made up a payroll check from the Broyhill Furniture Company and presented it for cashing at a grocery store. Only one problem, they misspelled Broyhill. Ever heard of the Boryhill Furniture Company? Neither had the clerk who called the cops.
