The Set-UP

After Magneto sat and thought about all his defeats against the X-Men and the Avengers, he began to wonder how he the Master of Magnetism could have lost so many important battles in his life. He could not even save his family in times when German forces occupied his homeland. He gazed into the stars from his seat in his santuary in Antarctica. He thought of all the fights he had with Charles that he began to evaluate his powers and strategies.

He knew that the X-Men knew his powers and that an attack on them would be difficult. He gathered his thoughts and thought of new ways to use his vast powers.

Instead of relying on manipulating metals, he focused on his shields and EMP blasts, He learned that he could manipulate gravity fields and that he could use the whole Electromagnetic Spectrum not just those he used.

With focus he developed skills which included being able to lift non-metals due to gravity manipulation and not only move but crush and expand the mass within the gravity field. He could pick up and decipher radio waves as well as microwaves. He could make devestating earthquakes and make molten rock fly in the air.

With his new skills he was able to lift heavier objects and use his powers for longer.

Now Prof X sensed magnus's anger and power and he too knew that his friendship was over with Magneto. He did not want to harm him but knew of no other way to stop Magneto. He focused his telepathy and tried to render Magnus catatonic. His efforts were in vain as Magneto's raw will was too much.

"I can still fight him in his mind though" thought Prof X.

Both are torn from the world and enter a huge arena, There they face each other in the Astral Plane, Prof X has never seen Magneto able to proect himself in the astral plane and is shocked to see him powering up his power.

Prof X knows that the winner will live and the other will never wake up again.

Magneto is now in his prime, read his wikipedia,personally he can do more damage than Marvel makes him able to)

Wait, you think Marvel doesn't allow Magneto to do enough damage? I was always impressed how he became such an uber threat with "The power to generate magnetic fields." He can jam psychics, make force fields that can take all but Cyclops most powerful shots, take control of any part of the electro magnetic spectrum that he gets close to, make EMPs(on a global scale), fly, brain wash his kids by screwing with the iron in their heads...

Professor X has beaten Magneto a bunch of times, but practically every time it was a struggle of struggles since in addition to all the above, Charles actually taught him how to fight off psychics...

I agree with you, But I always disliked that fact that he was strong at some times and then weaker in others, Like getting beat by Sentinels(plastic ones)

To me he should never loose to weaker people like for instance, he beat all of the Avengers when he was going to the World Court to convict him, but then later he looses to Toad when he escapes Stranger
