Gamers may remember the very challenging and very awesome 1993 game Space Hulk for the PC set in the Warhammer 40k universe where players controlled space marines attempting to clean genestealers off a wrecked vessel. Game maker Full Control will be releasing a new Space Hulk turn based game for the PC which is said to be both challenging and hardcore.
Story details for the sequels of the 1996 film Independence Day are emerging. Independence Day Forever parts 1 and 2 will take place twenty years after the first film as the aliens return loaded for bear.

Rumors abound on the sequel to the Alien prequel Prometheus. Some say that the film Prometheus backed the franchise into a corner from which there is no workable premise for escape. Meanwhile, screenwriter Damon Lindelof says all is well. Hmmm….
Hot on the heels of my post mentioning that Dredd was doing well in the home video market comes the news that a sequel is completely out of the question. Producer Adi Shankar says “It’s because the movie totally bombed and R-rated movies are a tough sell to begin with“. The film made $35 million globally in theaters on a $50 million budget.
Fans of the Marvel Comics character Deadpool know that the anti-hero is hardly a role-model. The team working on a Deadpool movie feel the same way about it and they are determined the character should get his full due in a film rated with a hard ‘R’. The producers may be concerned that an “R” rating would dampen the box office, but they might want to take a look at the film Dredd (based on the character Judge Dredd) which absolutely slayed in the home video market.
Leaping on-board Captain America: The Winter Soldier is UFC Champion Georges St-Pierre who has been cast as Batroc the Leaper. The character Batroc is skilled in the martial style of French kickboxing (savate).
The Massive Multi-Player space game Eve Online will release its 19th free expansion for the game June 4th. The game has been going strong for ten years and is one of the few MMOs to successfully remain a subscription only service. Despite its age, it’s subscriptions have been increasing.

Director J.J. Abrams will be taking the reigns on Star Wars: Episode VII. Abrams has been instrumental in the reboot of the Star Trek franchise and now will be bringing those talents to Disney’s recently acquired Star Wars universe. In this interview he shares some thoughts on it.
